Tough times bring hard decisions. The survivors of Cloverdale, Indiana band together in an effort to scratch out an existence among the charred remains of their town. Some of the additions are welcome assets, but others are not. Eindelijk wat meer actie, maar ik blijf er bij dat deze serie niet opgesplitst had moeten worden.

Generally good read
This, and the linked The Dark Road series, are written in the apocolyptic/post apocalyptic genre and generally well written with good characters and situations. There were a couple of time line issues where it seemed impossible for everything that had happened to have taken place in the time allowed - even taking intolerance account the apocolyptic landscape in which the characters were having to travel. The main issue I found with both series was the over abundance of internal retrospection and thought processes which affected the smooth flow of the story and were often repetitive. It detracted from the story for me, and at times felt a bit like Bruno was using it to 'pad out' the story. Having said that, I have enjoyed them well enough to buy all the books currently available and hope there are more as both Vince's and Ben's journeys are definitely not over.

Love these books
Love these books, they keep you on your seat. Can’t wait for the next book to come out. Wish Bruno did more with the others series also.

Confrontation by Bruno Miller is another fantastic entry in this series and easily a 5/5 read for me. What really makes these books work is how grounded the characters feel even while the world around them is falling apart. Vince continues to shine as the reluctant leader who never gets a break, and the tension of trying to rebuild a community while deciding who can actually be trusted keeps the story moving at a fast pace. The survival elements feel believable, the group dynamics are strong, and the looming threat from the looters adds just the right amount of pressure without turning the book into nonstop chaos for the sake of action. You can feel the desperation, exhaustion, and determination in every chapter.
What I enjoyed most is that the series understands survival is not just about fighting zombies, raiders, or the apocalypse — it’s about trying to stay human when every bad decision has consequences. The emotional stakes hit just as hard as the dangerous situations, and that balance makes the story addictive. Every time the group starts finding their footing, something new threatens to tear it all apart, which made it nearly impossible to stop reading. Great read! Now please hurry with Book 5 because ending it there should honestly be considered a crime against impatient readers like me.

Not only is this book very short but it has the feel of simply stretching out a story. Vince does a lot of pondering and much of what he plans to do is pre-empted by other things that happen. There were some shifty newcomers that Vince viewed with suspicion and might have been interesting but this ended in a rather anti-climactic wave goodbye. Then Vince pondered some more. It does end with the encounter with our group from Miller's other series. I do rather like this Cloverdale group who are forced to come to terms with what has happened and try to survive with what is at hand but they need to be doing more and pondering less.

When ever Bruno publishes one, I read it.
I've been reading this series for a couple of years now. There's sometimes a long gap between books, while he concentrates on other series, but I'm patient and don't mind waiting. Cloverdale and Vince have captured my imagination, and won't let go. I enjoy the stories about how they manage to overcome all the problems they encounter.
Vince isn't your typical "armed to the teeth" survivor types, and is still worried about his humanity. He's not a pansy, but not Rambo either.
I hope I don't have to wait too long for the next book in the series, but hey, I'm patient.

BLike the other's in the series this is a awesome book!
Loved this book! Glad it was just as good as the other's I have read! I think I mixed some of them up though as I was sure that Ben Davis and his son was with Vince when Ryan was kidnapped... Guess this is a good reason to go back and read them again! I don't remember the old couple at all! Though this book was about Vince and Cloverdale, can't wait for more!

Too wordy
Interesting story I'm good characters. But also spends too much time giving details about how bright the lights are in his office and things are really don't add to the story. It's as if he's trying to come up with enough words create a book. But I did enjoy it and we'll probably read the next book as well. Criticism is referred to be constructive.

The perfect conclusion for the spin off!
Confrontation, Cloverdale book 4, and the last book in the Cloverdale series continues the story of Cloverdale and the town's struggle to survive the aftermath of the EMPs. This is a great spin off and Dark Road fans and fans of post-EMP survival thrillers will love it! 5/5 stars!

Yes it's a cliffhanger
Honestly by now it shouldn't be a surprise. I throughly enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one. Mr. Miller is a natural storyteller. His books flow well and the characters are like your next door neighbor, natural and believable.

Entertaining
I enjoyed reading the series but found contradicted the companion series Dark Road. Vince met Ben and his son previous to Ryan being kidnapped. and it was Ben who helped rescue him and disable the looter’s vehicles. It was also Ben who cleared Main St.

So realistic
Love this series so far. I’ve read Dark Road series and Cloverdale as they intertwine. I’m still curious about Ben Davis from Dark Road. I think Vince is a little too nice to bad guys. Can’t wait for the next book.

More survivors
Disappointing hoped for a final confrontation with the looters
But two local families turn up, welcome additions. Less welcome are three travellers 2 of whom are ejected from the community.

Got this free on audible. Well written, nice character development through the series. Moved along quickly and kept me wanting to go back to see what happened next and to read the next in the series.

The author's take on structures being burnt up is different from some of the stories of this nature that I have read. The quadrilogy is pretty decent, with enough conflict to make it fairly believable.

Fantastic
It’s going to be another long stretch before the next book is out! But, it’ll be worth it. Love all your books.

Good
I just wish he would have not kept every one I suspense trying to navigate between the two separate series. That was the only part I didn't like.

Faith
This book has us second guessing whether the people they are meeting are going to be good or bad. The author has done a great job with this book.
