Murder: It’s All In Your Head by Cynthia Hilston is a very unique, supernatural thriller that I wasn’t expecting! This is so different than anything I’ve read before, making this an easy five stars.

Body swapping isn’t an unexplored theme, but the way Cynthia Hilston writes this novel, it puts a brilliant spin on this plot.

The characters are compelling. We are taken on quite a journey of emotion…from pity to disgust. I was very impressed with the way each character was developed.
I didn’t see the

Wow, this was probably the most original plot I’ve come across in my entire reading year! Imagine the soul of an abused girl, who has been pushed over the edge, accumulates enough power to possess any body it wishes in order to wreak havoc upon the world that has wronged her? And now imagine if the years pass and the soul lives on, skipping from one host to another, an immortal entity that corrupts anything it touches. Cassie and Randy discover what it’s capable of in their own example when thei ...more

When I read the synopsis I was intrigued. Never have I read a book with this kind of concept and I was curious to see what the real truth the story really was. The sentence "Someone has been getting away with murder for over 100 years" already calls for certain questions. Who is being? That is happening in that town? How could this happen?

As we are taken on a journey of well crafted psychological thriller, we enter a new reality. We jump from one point to another, learning about every character

Emotionally and physically beaten and abused as a child, Helen Hawkins “blacks out” to avoid the horrors. What she at first believes to be daydreams, she realizes are the minds/bodies of other people. Others who have easier lives where they’re loved and wanted.

Unlike her.

The death of the mother she loved, yet despised for not protecting her, and rejection from the only person she ever fell in love with leave Helen alone with her abuser… her minister father. She also has a new ability. She no lon

If you are into Supernatural Thrillers then you must pick this one up! It’s so different than anything I have read before and I don’t get to say that too often.

The theme of this story is how the mistreatment of one can spell disaster for so many others. We see this time and time again. But in this unique tale, the one mistreated has a special ability to switch bodies with others. To literally put their mind and conscience into another person’s body. This opens up the possibility to do unspeakab

Murder: It's All In Your Head is like if Freaky Friday were a horror movie that made you feel as though you were slowly losing your mind trying to make sense of it all. It's dark. It's depressing. It's relentless. And it's definitely a frustrating ending, that's for sure.
The book starts with Cassie, a teenage girl on her way to school. One minute she's outside heading down the street, and the next she's in a strange body staring at a dead woman in a bathtub. Yikes! That's just the beginning of C

This was an amazing, off the wall, twisted and disturbing but yet it was an utterly gripping read! In 1914 we meet Helen Hawkins, who is repeatably abused by her father who just so happens to be the town’s pastor – my heart went out to Helen at what she had to endure at the hands of her father. When Helen discovers she can wake up on other people’s bodies this become a source of escape for her, and when she managed to take over her fathers body she thinks she will put and end to her abuse. Sadly ...more

Oh, my word, “Murder: It’s All in Your Head” grabs you and won’t let go. You’ll find your heart pounding in your chest one minute and then falling through the floor. Some characters you hate to love, and others you love to hate. Lives recollected, scenes relived, conceived, perceived, and imagined are in the mind’s eye. But, whose mind? The story’s settings paint mental pictures that pull you willingly to the next page. Ms. Hilston’s work is spellbinding and will not disappoint. In the horror ge ...more

What is not to love. This book is brilliantly dark. The characters all vary in age and over various years from 1914 to 2018. It's a book that doesn't fit into a particular genre, it lends itself to a thriller, a mystery and the supernatural.

I love anything that dips into possession and souls hopping from host to host and this book didnt disappoint.

It isn't a book for the faint hearted as there are elements of abuse but is really well written.

I really look forward to reading more from this author

How disturbing a story can be…

In 1914 is Helen Hawkins abused by her father. The only way she can escape the abuse is in her dreams, where she can dream of living other lives. But her dreams appear to be more than just dreams, because apparently she truly has the ability to switch to others’ bodies.
In 2018 young Cassie Meadows finds herself suddenly in the body of Randy Davis, accused of murdering his own wife.
And that while the real Randy Davis finds himself in the body of Jimmy Williams, an
