My name is Aimee and I committed a crime. I walked onto a forbidden path—and now, that path is my cage.
There’s no way out for a woman who knows the secret of the Pride. Monsters hide in the shadows and now, I belong to them.
Blaze, Gunner and Rock Pride. The Alpha lions who killed my friends. They could have killed me too, devoured me whole, torn me to pieces. It would have been more merciful.
The brand of a lion pride stains my skin. Their eyes haunt my dreams and their touch drives me crazy.
I’m lost in a world that doesn’t make sense anymore. I’m human—they are not. I’m a woman. They are beasts. I am a prisoner and they are my captors. How can I want them as much as I do?
Authors’ Note: This is a full, standalone dark romance story with no cliffhangers, and a happily-ever-after. Please be advised that it may contain situations that are triggering to some, profanity, and a lot of steam.
I enjoyed this one the most. Even though it seemed darker to me, dont know why, as all three were dark. But I think that I enjoyed the characters more, as well as the plot.
So we have our main female lead Aimee who trespassed on land with her boyfriend and two other friends. They are captured by a lion pride. She is spared but has to watch while her friends and boyfriend are killed. She is given to the pride Alpha Blaze. As humans are thought to be evil, she is treated badly until they see that maybe they were wrong.
As I said, I enjoyed this one the most. There was dark moments here, and I did not really know what to think of the sex scenes. But I did enjoy Caged, and felt that the authors did a good job creating this world that is dark and scary.
In this story, Aimee and three male friends climbed the fence into private property. They discovered that lion shifters live there. The males were killed, but Aimee is spared. Three alphas decide that she is theirs to play with. The first thing they did was brand her as theirs. Then, they discover that Aimee enjoys pain. As the alphas play with Aimee, they discover that they have feelings for her and want to make her their mate. The lionesses do not agree and try to get rid of her, There is a HEA and this is the best of the series so far!

Caged is the third book in the Primal Obsession series, though each is a standalone and can be read separately.
This book is full of angst, drama, and plenty of sexy times you will long to get lost in.
While this book is the end of the series, Ms. Wylde and Ms. Brandt could easily continue the series for a while, and honestly, I hope they do, as there are so many different animals they can introduce into the storyline.
If you haven't read a book by Eva Brandt, Cara Wylde, or Dahlia Briar, I suggest you start with Captured, followed by Marked, then read Caged. If you don't mind reading books with some dark themes, you won't be disappointed.
Blaze, Gunner, and Rock are the alphas, and fed up with the machinations of the pride's females to manipulate them into a mating. Aimee knows what they are doing is wrong, and maybe she didn't try hard enough to convince her boyfriend and the others that it was a bad idea to trespass onto the fenced off property. Oh, my! Three sizzling hot lion shifters decide to keep the young human female hoping to put an end to the attempted manipulations of the female shifters.
Fascinating, sexy and intriguing characters. The three alphas quickly realize that their plan to teach the female members of the pride, turns into something else. Violent action, sizzling sex, and surprising twists. I think this is a must read book, and series. Fantastic!

**TRIGGER WARNING~ if you are opposed to blood and demeaning of people then you may want to tread carefully**
Now let me first explain that warning. One it does start off with a horrific scene and as you read you immediately think that the shifters are uncivilized by the terms they use to address the main character. But it all changes as you read along. Okay so with that out of the way you have Aimee who just happened to fall into peer pressure and stumbled upon a community of shifters. Not just any shifters but a pride of lions and lionesses. So Aimee is caged by Rock. Blaze, and Gunner who want to punish her for one being on their land and two because she is human. These guys have a hatred for humans because of what they have been dealt with in the past and they think that she is no better. However, they did not expect to have an attraction to the little spitfire that Aimee is. She is not downright defiant but she just wants to question their logic. She did not think that she would feel a connection to these guys but she revels in the way they treat her. Which is not all bad? These guys may have had different intentions but they soon realize there is something more. All the while they are trying to figure out what is going on the lionesses are having none of it and will do what they can to stop them. I can say that in this book there was growth and compassion and learning of each other. It is also sad at what they all have gone through in the past and present. I can say that there is a happily ever after.

DARK. Very brutally dark. Some twisted minds wrote Caged. And they should be proud of themselves.
Caged is the last in the Primal Obsessions books, and the series was so easy to devour in two days that I'm ashamed of my gluttony--lies, I reveled in it. I liked this entire series, but this book has some harsher visuals than the other two, in my opinion.
Aimee trespasses onto Pride territory with her boyfriend and his two friends and is met with brutal force. Taken prisoner, she watches the other members of her party be viciously murdered. She is then gifted as a prize to Blaze, one of the Pride Alphas by the Pride Mother, for bringing the trespassers to justice.
Humans are thought to be evil, and the Pride Alphas are waiting for Aimee to show her evil human ways, but instead, she shows strength, defiance, and adaptability. All qualities the lions admire. Plus, there was always that one esoteric aspect to her that mesmerized Blaze. It's what makes her perfect for a lion's mate, the ability to accept, even desire pain when she is with her lovers--because they have some anatomy that you don't want to envision.
Caged is very satisfying. I dinged it a star because the angst carried on a little too long and needed some more dynamic. I felt it flat at other emotions. This series is well worth the money. I urge you to spend. I have already picked up some other books by the authors who wrote them to try out different stories.

A late night foray into the forest results in startling consequences… 3.5 stars
This reverse harem, paranormal romance features a woman whose freedom is forfeited when she trespasses onto private property and encounters several savage lion shifters. The males’ treatment of Aimee’s friends, although gruesome, was not totally unexpected given the pride’s attitude toward humans. What I found surprising though was how quickly their behaviour toward Aimee changed from cruel aggressors – taunting and punishing her for their entertainment – to protecting her and wanting to claim her as their mate. It was a rather quick about-face after only a few days. I liked Aimee’s initial efforts to remain strong, and to try to escape when she was first captured. I was somewhat disappointed then when that resolve was quickly forgotten as her hormones took over and she submitted to the sexual allure of the three males. The story is a quick read, with some dark themes - violence, brutality and torture along with some deception, and treachery from some surprising sources. There are also several steamy ménage encounters but no M/M scenes.

"Caged isn't for the weak hearts. It was raw, intense and so brutal. To be honest it wasn't at all what I expected. I didn't read the first two books, after reading the blurbs they sounded so barbarous and they didn't seemed like my kind trope. I read the blurb of this one and it was like this sounds more relax, yes, let's give it a try. I realized late that it was too brutal for me. The story itself was fierce, crude and violent but the plot was complexed not just the 'found my mate let's be together forever. Cavemen type' that are hot and sexy all the possessiveness. Different characters each one with their personalities and the interactions between but at some point it was too agonizing for me to keep reading. One part of me wanted to finished it no matter what because the story had potential and the paranormal reverse harem was really appealing to me but I never expected that level of dark and cold-blooded men and how they treated Hazel was too much for me. Yes, she liked it but no. Sorry but I just wanted to punch them so hard for treating her like trash-prey-pet. Caged... the cage , yes I got the title. I read 75% of it and wasn't able to read more. Sorry I'm not that grave for this darkness."
Aimee is with her boyfriend and friends when they decide to go into part of the forest that says no trespassing. Aimee doesn't think it is such a good idea, but decides to go with them. They are walking when they hear the roars, they decide to try to get out. Aimee and the others decide to climb in the trees. Aimee sees a lioness and a lion fighting, she is hoping they move the fight away. Then she sees one of them change. What is worse, is the lion senses us. He attacks her friends, they try to run. Aimee is taken to them main camp with the survivors of the attack. It is ruled that the males will die and she is left to three of the men. She watches as her boyfriend dies. The three men decide that they are going to torture and fun with her.
Things get interesting from this point. You will see Aimee struggle with her situation. The three Alphas realize that this human means more than they thought. They will have hurdles to over come if they expect to find happiness. There are some really strong scenes in this book that are not for everyone.

This author just recently has been new to me, and this is the second book i have read of hers. And i have to say that im fast becoming a fan, i love the action , drama and the intrigue of the whole story. Its dark, delicious and delightful with the wonderful shapeshifter men. Aimee knew she shouldnt really go with her boyfriend over the tall dark fences, after all they did say keep out, but she did, and soon she came to regret it when the one man was killed by the lions and she and the others were taken back.... Shapeshifter lions, and they werrnt all that nice. They killed her boyfriend and his mates, but she was left to be taken and used by the three Alphas. Blaze, Gunner and Rock all want to protect this little human, but things take a twist and a turn, when the lionesses make more than trouble for them.
So the book though fiction ,it is real.Just because characters are shape-shifters often authors forget about their other half ,the shitty (pardon my French) human part that go through stuff.
The characters or one may be guarded and appears to be a real asshole but when you are hurt so often we put up a guard. As much as the book is about their world it's also about letting go and moving on. About winning with compassion and patience.
I loved the book and characters, its dark but not too dark if you are used to reading shifter fiction. The plot too and I love that it has a happy ending with no cliff hanger.
I would definitely read more of the series Don't read if you have a strong stomach or aren't into BDSM but like I said it's not too dark.

★ Enjoyable first read from this writing duo's PNR RH series ★
—>>> Review Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars - The punishment did not fit the crime. Aimee and three others were caught trespassing on normally very zealously guarded territory, except that one time when these humans did get through farther than any other recently. The chase was on when they witnessed lion shape shifters changing to their humanoid shapes before their very eyes. A terrorized Aimee is spared, only to be claimed by the same three alphas to play with. But something about this human female had them thinking that was something they might not bring themselves to do. Pride politics have been shaky at best between the lions and the lionesses, and her appearance did not ease the existing conflicts. Enjoyable first read from this writing duo's PNR RH series!
WARNING: This is a dark RH shifter romance. The shifters in this book resort to their instincts and are vicious beings. This story is NOT for everyone.
This is the darkest book in the series. Yet, it explains the cycles of abuse in a realistic manner. Physical, emotional and mental abuse occur throughout this story, but it happens to several different characters. It's not meant to make you feel better, but it lets you know that abuse must stop once it's identified.
The female protagonist in this book endures violence on a scale that will make you question everything. Later on, you find out that she has been enduring such harsh treatments her entire life. Resilience is the theme in this book, even if that wasn't the author's intent.
In all, a believable, although violent story.
I don't know why, but I'm addicted to this series.
A fast paced dark romance with just the right amount of everything in it. The woman in the end ended up being the strongest even when it did seem that she was broken beyond repair. The second and third leading females I sooo wanted to beat with a stick badly. And the males needed a good ass whooping if you asked my opinion on the matter. But everything ties together nicely.
Aimee should have listened to her instincts when her boyfriend wanted to go onto the private property that's always been a mystery to them. Now she is terrorized and beyond scared to death, because of the horror she witnessed. And the the three growly alpha men aren't helping any...even if she wants everything they plan on doing to her....
First I want to point out that all the Primal Obsessions books are stand alone and may have triggers for some people. What I found out while reading all three was that there was a degree in Violence burn within them. This one being the first I read turned out to be the one with the most violence.
Poor innocent Aimee who is the daughter to a cop decides to break into a place she knows she shouldn't with her friends. What happens next is beyond the repercussions she could have ever fathomed and thanks to the race of the beings that lives within the territory they trespased on well let's just say she was lucky to be alive.
Branded, caged like an animal, and treated like a human well... plaything to these big cats it's a wonder how she managed to fall for them. But fall she did and that's where the story heats up to a whole new level.
I enjoyed everything about this story and knowing about liones and such I can tell you the reaction to the territory invasion was spot on.
I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. I am basing my review off of Evas writing style because honestly this book was too dark for me. I thought the storyline and characters were well written. If you enjoy this type of darkness in a romance, it would a perfect story. It was just a little more brutal than what I personally like. This book shows that Eva can create an atmosphere with drama and suspense with some evil thrown into the attraction. If you like this genre, it is a story you will enjoy reading along with the other books in the Primal Obsession series

Aimee was in the wrong place at the wrong time. There is no escape for a woman who knows the secret of the lions’ Pride. She is owned by the monsters now: Blaze, Gunner and Rock Pride. These Alpha lions viciously killed her boyfriend and his two friends and took her for themselves, an actual gift to Blaze by the Pride Mother for killing off the humans.
This is a gory conclusion to this series. I was still hanging on and reading until the revelation of an attribute the lions admired - her ability to accept, even desire pain, when she is with her lovers. Nope, I can’t read that and can’t accept that, not even in fiction. But if you are not bothered by those things and admire her as well, you may enjoy this book.
A slave to pleasure? Aimee lets her boyfriend Larry con her into going over a fence onto “government property”. Larry wanted to know what was on the other side. But what they encounter is not government workers. They find lion shifters, and Larry and their two friends are viciously killed and Aimee taken has a slave to the three tree alphas. But Aimee even though Aimee has growing feelings for them. there is a war brewing between the lionesses in the pride and the alphas. And Aimee will be caught in the middle. Can they keep her safe from the lionesses, and if the they feel she has betrayed them, from her alphas? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
This is the 3rd book in this series and they only seem to be getting better as it goes along! The team of Eva Brandt, Dahlia Briar, Cara Wilde have a way of story telling that grabs you at the begging of the book and doesn't let you go till the end. Even then you sit back and say Wow! Their characters are delightfully flawed and you can't help but cheer for their happily ever after. Blaze, Rock, Gunner and Aimee's story is one of surviving in a difficult situation but coming our stronger because of it. This story has everything that you could want in a book; drama, action, intrigue, conflict and of course hot romance. You really don't want to miss this one!

This story is a standalone about a group of friends that enter a private property when they shouldn't. A group of lion shifters kill them all but Aimee. When you find the reason why she was spared and all the politics that go in the backstage you really get hooked. I find it funny that the reverse harem worked in the case of lion shifters (specially when they seem so focused on expanding family and raising more cubs). One female for 3 males is not good on the long run. I actually would like to see this story expand for a normal harem were the females had to fight for the males attention. I haven't got a plot like that in ages, so it could actually be interesting. Keep the politics in the mix and all.
I feel if you have read the prior two standalone books in this series, then this book will seem like a delicious and naughty treat, but having read the two previous books I felt that there were themes that had been overused in each of the other books (female being held captive, all family or friends killed before her eyes). At least the first first book there was a reason for the shifter's dislike of the girl, this story was so far fetched-trespassing. It was hard to like them and go along for it. It just felt like them using her as a slave. So wrong, no matter what the author wrote.

*Spoiler Alert* Out of the three books in the Primal Obsessions series i think this one is the darkest of all of them. Aimee (FMC) stumbles across a secret pride of Lions Shifters and then she becomes a captive of Alphas of their group - Gunner, Blaze and Rock. I really didnt like the lions to begin with especially with everything they did to Aimee and the people she was with. I struggled to work out why Aimee would want anything to do with the three of them to be honest. Yes they did have moments where they were not so harsh towards Aimee but im not sure it made up for all that had happened . Sadly i guess this book just wasnt for me as much as the other books in this series
\WOW. I loved this book. I found it to be very well written. No holes in the plot of this story. Boy, what a story. I have never read anything like this before. I found that I couldn`t put it down until the story was finished. I didn`t find any spelling mistakes. The characters really worked well in the story and I had a great connection with them. Totally different to what I am used to reading and now I can`t wait to finish the other books in this series as well. I do recommend this book for people over the age of 18+ or maybe even older...........lol. It is that hot and steamy.

This book was a fast paced dark romance. Aimee knew better than to let her boyfriend and the others talk her into trespassing onto the fenced property. Blaze, Gunner and Rock and the Lion alphas and are ticked off with the pride's females trying to manipulate them into mating. When they catch Aimee they decide to keep the human female hoping to stop the female shifters manipulations. The character are entertaining and sexy. While trying to teach the females of the pride a lesson the have to deal with some violence. drama, and twists and turns. This is a pretty good story. The first book I've read from this author. A dark and twisted reverse harem filled with punishment, action, suspense, drama, hot sexy scenes, romance and a happily ever after. Absolutely brilliantly written, amazing diverse characters with strong sizzling wicked chemistry and a storyline that takes you through a series of emotions on a fabulously depraved journey. I loved reading this from beginning to end, I only wish that I was well enough to read it sooner. Look forward to to reading more books by the ever talented Eva Brandt and collaborators.

Aimee and her friends knew theyt were going onto private property when they went into the forest, but they had no idea what they would face. The Lion shifter pride killed all of the males - and kept Aimee as a prisoner. But what would happen to her? Would they use her until they were bored with her, and then kill her? Blaze, Gunner and Rock hadnt decided yet - and Aimee had no choice but to do as she was told and await their decision.

OMG!.......... I think I just experienced the whole rainbow of emotions reading that book! I need a drink! 😂 Love me some growly alpha holes and lots of steaminess! 🔥 It’s dark and angsty with a side of happily ever after. Fair warning there are some brutal and vicious scenes that really bring this story to life. Aimee and her lion men get off to a very rough start together but she slowly worms her way into their hearts. Loved that this was a darker shifter story! Definitely recommended but not for the faint of heart! 😈🖤💜
Aimee, her boyfriend and 2 more friends decide to trespass onto some land not knowing what they would find. They found a lot of trouble. Aimee has to pay for their crime. Blaze, Gunner and Rock in my opinion are the biggest jerks. I get that this was a darker story, but they are angry at her for not following the rules when they don't tell her anything. They each have moments where you can see they care, but to me it just wasn't enough. I wanted to like this series, but it just isn't hitting the spot for me.
Caged is book three in the series Primal Obsessions by authors Eva Brandt, Dahlia Briar & Cara Wylde. I absolutely love Cara Wylde- it has also been a pleasure getting introduced to these other two authors. I am a fan!! The past lives of the characters are a bit heart wrenching- dark moments seem to be the norm- but even in the darkness there is light. Deliciously spicy and a little bloody. Just wow!! Enjoy!!
