This is a Hate to Love Romance/Rom-Com. I have to say that I was super excited about this book, but then I was scared to pick it up. I am happy to say I really loved this book, and I could not put it down. This book had so many cute and funny moments in this book. I found myself laughing so many times during this book. I loved the two main characters in this book. I found this book to be unique and nothing like the other books I have read. The idea you can hire someone to put someone else in the ...more

The quadruple avenging angels are targeted egomaniacs, frenemies, cheaters, scumbag coworkers, opportunist bosses to hunt and bring out justice to our humiliated women population who are suffering from injustice and inequality! Yes! As soon as I read the blurb, I’m sold!

At the beginning the premise of the book reminded me of Charlie’s Angels ( but not original one: the unsuccessful remake directed by Elizabeth Banks) They’re daytime administrative assistants of insurance agency, at night time

Heartbreak for Hire is a rom-com that in the end, simply didn’t work for me.

From the start, I was uncomfortable with how both women and men were portrayed and was also uncomfortable with how steamy the romance was between the main characters of Brinkley and Mark.

While this book sounded like it would be cute, for me, it simply left a lot to be desired. As I am only one reader, I encourage others to read additional reviews, as this book might be right up your alley.

Heartbreak for Hire is an undercover company that specializes in one thing: revenge. A secret service for the broken hearted or long suffering coworker. Brinkley Saunders is one of three agents tasked with carrying out the clientele’s revenge plans, but from an outsider perspective she’s just an administrative assistant working for an insurance agency. While the job might not be exactly what she envisioned for herself, she knows it's a safe way to save for a down payment on an art gal

I'm not always an easy girl to please with rom-coms, I hate over angst-y drama filled nonsense, which, sadly, makes it hard to find just the right read for me and I rarely love them. I need likable, smart, funny heroines and heroes equally up to the task of taking them on. I need strong guys with hearts of gold. I need witty one liners and heart pounding tender, truly romantic moments.

I need the real stuff. The relatable stuff. The good stuff.

This was so much fun and gave me all of the above an

Heartbreak for Hire, by Sonia Hartl, is a very unique, steamy, rom-com that I thoroughly enjoyed. The premise is completely unique and the story was fun and thought-provoking too.

Brinkley by day is a mild-mannered administrative assistant for an insurance firm. At least that’s what her family thinks. Her real job is a Heartbreaker for the Heartbreak for Hire, a firm that specializes in revenge for jilted lovers, frenemies, and long-suffering co-workers. Brinkley is very good at her job, and the

I had high hopes for Heartbreak for Hire, in part because workplace enemies-to-lovers romcoms are a favorite category of mine. Don't be fooled by the cover art or jacket copy -- this is far from a workplace romance despite the fact that the hero and heroine work together briefly. That workplace is a big part of the problem with this novel; "Heartbreak 4 Hire" (or "H4H" as it's referred to in-text) is a strange and mean-spirited concept that toes the line of entrapment under the guise of giving " ...more

I truly don't know what to say----just because it was not to my taste doesn't make it a bad book.

I must agree with some of the other reviewers that said that this book was no ordinary rom-com. This book appears to be a light, funny read on its face, but when we actually start reading, we find that this is a book that makes annihilation as revenge, a business. It sounded good at first, but the longer I read, the more my stomach was churning. How can anyone think it is funny t

Thank you to Netgalley and Gallery Books for the chance to read and review Heartbreak for Hire prior to it's release in July!

The description of this book really drew me in as it follows a female who is hired to break male hearts and diminish their egos. How cool is that?! It basically provides the revenge for women who have been brought down by men in their personal and professional lives.

The opening sentence is: "Dealing with the male ego was a lot like painting" which instantly drew me in. Th

Heartbreak for Hire by Sonia Hartl was adorable and addictive. It was sit one spot finish it in a day good. This book made me gasp and laugh out loud. How far would you go to get back at a man, someone who cheated on you, stole from you or made you feel like dirt? Would you key his car or send him a glitter bomb? What about breaking his heart? I really enjoyed this! Brinkley and Mark have fantastic dialogue that’s hilarious, quick and witty. It’s full of amazing rom com cliches and it delivers on every single one of them.

It gave me legally blond, meets how to lose a guy in 10 days, meets Hitch vibes. Absolutely adorable.

Pleasantly surprised! This is billed as a rom com, but there’s a lot more to the story, and it’s a steamy one! Read this for the elevator scene alone! Wowza.

Brinkley’s job as a professional “heartbreaker” kind of exacerbates her disdain for men as a result of her jerk ex. When she unexpectedly has feelings for Mark, one of her targets, she’s taken aback. And when he shows up later as an employee of her firm, she’s angry. Her antics to get back at him and make him quit are childish, but kind of

All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I had so much fun reading this book. It’s funny, sexy, adorable and a brilliant romcom!

Brinkley works at Heartbreak for Hire. After a bad breakup, she’s out to get revenge on any man that has a huge ego. One night, she ends up going home with one of her targets and things get a little steamy. Come to find out, the same man she went home gets hired at her job. And it only gets better from there.

Heartbreak for Hire, by Sonia Hartl, seems on the surface to be a book I would absolutely love. A workplace romcom with the enemies to lovers trope (my favorite!), Heartbreak for Hire tells the story of Brinkley, who has worked for two years as a Heartbreaker, tearing down men with oversized egos — for a fee, of course. Brinkley dreams of owning her own art gallery, but after the psychological damage done to her by her ex and her mother, it seems like an unreachable goal. When things go too far ...more

— the premise of this book was so exciting and full of potential but the execution was disappointing

— Mark and Brinkley had a lot of chemistry and they were cute together but their feelings happened way too fast, there wasn’t a lot of pining or development they were very insta-love which i didn’t like.

— Brinkley’s relationships outside of her romantic one with Mark were very underdeveloped they weren’t done well at all, her friendship with Emma was just brought up a couple of times and was

I was not familiar with Sonia Hartl so I went in with no expectations. I saw a cute cover and thought a cute rom-com. Unfortunately for this book, I feel like publishers are doing a bit of false advertising currently. They put a cute cover on a book but too many times in the recent past do these books need a warning label.

Hartl has written a book that had too many extremes for me. Brinkley was a likable character but everything in her life was over-the-top. For example, Brinkley's relationship

I was lucky enough to read an early version of this book.

Heartbreak for Hire is a treasure—a ray of light and joy!

I fell hard for Brinkley and Mark in this charming, sweet, at times silly, but overall TENDER romcom.

From whip-smart banter to Dolly Parton references, I couldn't stop smiling at the pages.

This book is filled with characters trying their best. Brinkely's journey—from vodka overindulgence to figuring out how to stand up to those she loves most—was so relatable and I know many reade

I was absolutely primed to love this book. I love the concept of folks benignly embarrassing men who deserve it for money!!! But it really failed in its execution and that was disappointing.

Brinkley and Mark first meet when she's hired to publicly embarrass him after he allegedly stole the work of a coworker. Mark is in academia, which Brinkley detests because her cold professor mother has reminded Brinkley at every turn that she failed out of graduate school and is an utter disappointment. Bri
Sonia Hartl is a new to me author and when I read the book description it drew me in since it's about a female who is hired by women to take men down a notch who have done them wrong in some way. I immediately thought it would be a fun book to read.

The premise of this book is fantastic: Scorned women who are able to act out revenge on the egotistical men who had wronged other women by using their own vices to take them down. What woman wouldn’t want to live out their fantasies of taking down the men who have mistreated and taken advantage of others.

This story is about as good as it gets for enemies-to-lovers. There are so many heated fights between these two over topics that I can’t imagine getting past if this happened to me. You can feel

After a terrible break up Brinkley Saunders is recruited to work for Heartbreak For Hire -- a company where you can pay someone to exact your revenge for you. She breaks a rule (don't get involved with a mark!) when she gets involved with Mark (see what I did

This is a cute rom-com with enemies to lover’s trope. There are many fun moments that made me laugh so hard I cackled like a witch. This has the vibes of ‘Hating Game’. If you love that book, I am pretty sure you would love this.

Brinkley works for ‘Heartbreak for Hire’ where four of its employees are women and it is run by a Margo. Commissioned by jilted lovers, disgruntled employees, she takes revenge on people by deflating their egos and humiliating them publicly. It gets awkward when Margo h
