The battles are raging as Daegan is working against impossible odds to save his Belador warriors and find the dragon impersonating him. He needs Casidhe to help. She can help find the ancient books he needs. After all she surrounds herself in the history of the dragon clans. Will she help Daegan? Or will more people die? There is so much treachery and so many plots. Daegan and Casidhe are always at odds. I wanted them to combine their power. I still don't have answers. Just more questions. I can't wait to see what happens next. Dianne Love knows how to keep the readers in suspense. Her story has so many unexpected twists and surprises. I hope Book 3 provides more information. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.
It's a really good thing that these books are coming out so close together. If I had to wait months and months for the next one, the anticipation just might do me in. Book 2 picks up right where the first one ended, and continues to weave a thrilling, unputdownable story.
The plot is moving quickly, which is nerve-wracking because the Imortiks are terrifying. The book conjures the constant feeling of "something big is coming." The kicker is, it's not just one big thing. I'm invested in all of these characters, good and bad, and the complex and intense roads they are travelling. But I have a feeling we are just at the tip of a massive iceberg. As far as the cliff-hangers go, well-played Dianna Love. Well-played, indeed. Just like last time, I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.
OMG…this just keeps getting better and better! Book 2 continues where book1 left off…Deagan’s search to find Casidhe, who claims to be the Treoir family squire, continues...while she’s trying to find her friend whom she believes has been captured, since she can’t get a hold over her. Deagen enlists the help of Quinn and Reese to help locate Casidhe. We discover where Tristan is but holy hell it’s not good!!! This book kept me on the edge of my seat…more secrets are revealed which left me wanting to know more! I can’t wait for Book 3!!!!
In book 2 of the Treoir Dragon Chronicles time is running out for Daegan. Continuing from where book one concluded, Daegan must find the dragon impersonating him, and we know something big is coming only it is more than we think. This fast paced well delivered story had me on the edge of my seat throughout.
I will be looking to read the next one to see where we go next. If you haven’t read this series yet do yourself a favor and get started, you won’t be disappointed
LOVE this story!!!!! Daegan is one of my favorite all-time characters. While it drives me crazy to see the messes these guys all get into, I can't stop reading until the end, even knowing that somehow, someway they are all going to be ok. Well, most of the time! lol Honestly, I can't say enough good things about the series. Just read it!!!!
Book 2 in a 9-book series, all of which will be available in less than a year. This book continues Daegan's story, and the tension is definitely starting to ramp up. I can't wait to see where this amazing story takes us!
Book 2 of this series is getting deeper into the story and man is it getting good. Lives at stake, new immortals, good vs bad, this book has it all. Gotta go download book 3!
Just finished Book 2 and I have only one thing to say: bring on Book 3!! Great story line, great characters. Looking forward to reading this series in its entirety!
From the very first scene in this urban fantasy book, I was captivated by the riveting action plus not knowing what would happen in the next moment. Dianna Love certainly kept me intrigued during every new development, as the circumstances played out in creatively innovative ways. The Treoir Dragon Chronicles series has an original storyline, as situations are imaginative while the many featured characters are uniquely distinctive. I have been fascinated with Daegan since I first met him, as he is a powerful being yet compassionate and caring when it comes to those for whom he cares. As I read the second installment about him and those individuals to whom he is connected in some capacity, I came to realize that the Belador world created by Dianna Love is truly astounding.
With a tremendous need to find three crucial grimoire volumes, Daegan has come looking for Casidhe, a woman from whom he thinks the vital information can be learned. But Imortiks are also in Ireland, resulting in an encounter which left their venom inside him after he was scratched, and this will unfortunately let him be vulnerable to further problems in the future. Making matters even worse, his second-in-command in leading the Beladors has been captured, and Tristan must be found quickly or will surely suffer. There is more trouble is brewing in Atlanta, too, as humans are now aware beings like him exist and are panicking. With time slipping away, Daegan must keep those who would use the grimoires for evil purposes from ever possessing the books, but convincing Casidhe to be on his side will take much persuasion.
There is one surprise after another all throughout book two in the TREOIR DRAGON CHRONICLES OF THE BELADOR WORLD, and I was certainly not expecting several of the more shocking disclosures. While some of the revelations are related to the on-going battle the Beladors are constantly waging, other shockers are much more personal and have me wondering just what some beloved characters will have to face later. Once again, Ms. Love scattered some background facts into the story to help those who are first-time readers or to remind someone like me of details that may have been forgotten. As Daegan and others fight for righteousness, those on the opposing side are determined to also make their objectives come true.
Treoir Dragon Chronicles of the Belador World: Book 2 is the 2nd book in the 9 book arc of this series. Refresher: Daegan and his team are attacked by Immortiks, who were supposed dead many years ago. Even though Daegan is a bit disabled, but many are being held prisoners, with the threat of death if he can’t find the missing ‘grimoire’, volumes. With Tristan now captured by another evil entity trying to find the volumes, Daegan must find help. The information on the Immortiks and the grimoire is difficult to find, as it dates back thousands of years ago
When we left off in book 1, Daegon is desperate to save his people from the Imortiks, especially Tristan, who is captured by a familiar evil being. In book 2, Daegon is in dire straits, himself trying to recover from the poisoning, as well as a strange and mysterious woman who wields a big sword and manages to escape him. Casidhe is an ancient Luigsech researcher, who is able to read the grimoire volumes what others also want, but she only cares about her friend Fenella, who is now missing.
Daegon will bring in Quinn and Reese to help him find Casidhe, as he needs her to help, as well as finding out who has kidnapped Tristan, as time is of essence to save him. Casidhe doesn’t trust Daegon (since she does not know who he really is), but eventually she is willing to help Daegon, but only if he will help her find Fenella. They both get off on the wrong foot, with constant tension and arguing between them. I suspect in upcoming books we may see them become romantically involved, as we can sense their budding chemistry. The POV’s continue with Daegan, the evil Cathbad and also Casidhe. We also learn from Quinn, that Reese is keeping a secret, which we will learn more about in upcoming books.
This is a difficult review to write without giving spoilers, as these are short stories and saying too much would be too revealing. You truly do need to read these books in cohesion. What follows is an exciting, tense, suspenseful, paranormal adventure. It is great to see many of our favorites from the Belador series make appearances to help Daegon and find the grimoire. If you are new and love paranormal, urban fantasy, suspense, romance, great characters, you should be reading Dianna Love.
This picks up where book 1 leaves off and really continues to expand the storyline. Daegan is still searching for Tristan and the missing grimoires. Casidhe has disappeared, so he calls in Quinn and his "friend" Reese to help locate her. Once they find Casidhe, Daegan realizes he must change tactics if he wants her to help find the books and Tristan. Casidhe still hasn't decided if she can trust Daegan or if he is really trying to protect those he loves and in turn will help her find Fenella. She also has people to protect and every time she softens toward Deagen, he manages to make her angry again. I love that she is strong willed and stubborn and he's kind of a brute who can't understand why she just won't cooperate with him. I expect to see these two characters fight it out every step of the way as their characters develop and get to know each other.
This particular installment has several different storylines, and knowing Dianna Love's style they will eventually merge together at some point in the future. We get some information from several different character's viewpoints, which allows us to get to know more about the plot as well as get to know some of the secondary characters. Because this is going to be a more serial release type of series, I'm going to be patient and let things develop as they are supposed to. I'm itching to get my hands on the rest of the books because things are starting to heat up plot wise as we learn more about the Imortiks, the plotline with Cathbad an Maeve develops bit more, and you can see something simmering beneath the surface between Daegan and Casidhe. I expect all of these things to come together as the story progresses over the next several months.
Again because this is a series of novellas, it ends on a cliffhanger but book 3 should be out in just a few weeks. There are still lots of unanswered questions, but because the plot moves quickly in such a short amount of time there is only so much we can learn in each installment. I'm really a fan of this presentation and I'm looking forward to seeing how the story continues to develop and how the characters interactions change as things move forward. This was a great introduction to the plotlines and I can't wait for more.
Part 2 of 9 of a multi-perspective Urban Fantasy tale
This is book two of the Dreoir Dragon Chronicles and it contiues right where the previous installment ended on a cliffhanger. This time around I found it much easier to follow the multi-perspective story-telling as the various characters have sufficiently been introduced in volume one, even for readers unfamiliar with the Belador world. But at the same time it also takes up narrative threads established in the Belador world, like Cathbad and Maeve’s plan to gain world domination by exposing and destroying the Beladors and gain dominion over Treoir, which mostly fails because they cannot stop bickering and continue to work against each other. I was also very pleased to see that Quinn and Reese feature prominently in this installment; they met in Belador Cosaint as they united in the search for Quinn’s daughter Phoedra, but although they seemed to have strong feelings for each other, their connection led nowhere as Reese is under a curse that makes it impossible for her to be in a relationship with Quinn…
Daegan meanwhile is convinced that his best shot at saving his Beladors lies in getting his hands on the three parts of the forbidden grimoire and he thinks that Casidhe knows how to find them. Only he goes about trying to convince her to help him in a very gauche and rather ham-fisted way, so Casidhe keeps evading him. And as he holds back vital information from her, she feels unable to trust him; after all, her first duty is to her friends and her benefactor, and she is not sure their goals really align. In a way Daegan suffers from having been imprisoned as Maeve’s throne, because he clearly is unable to communicate with a modern woman. But the fact that Casidhe doesn’t cowtow to him, intrigues his dragon…
I am excited to find out how the story continues to unfold! 4 ½ stars from me!
And the Adventure continues....Casidhe had lived a simple life waiting for the time she would be called into service as the squire for the Treoir family. Tasked by Cavan, a being she senses to be of dark power, to find the Grimoires, or risk losing her friend, Fenella, should she fail him, she attempts to find her friend and plans to use the Books as leverage. Her position as Researcher and her ability to read ancient languages, puts her in a valued position. Fearing for her friend, her life becomes more complicated when Daegan (Drake) enters her life and not with the best of introductions. Not one to back down and with a very strong sense of loyalty, she stands up to Drake. Her attitude and bravery surpris Daegan and he finds himself in awe and even a little in admiration by her tenacity. With her friend missing and 2 very powerful and lethal men in her life, Casidhe must decide how to best help her friend and decide which path to take. No easy fete given the power she feels emanating from both Cavan and Drake. It is a fast past story with increased character developments and plot twists and subplots with Tristan, who was captured, the ongoing power struggle between Cathbad and Maeven and a time crunch to save the Beladors. All of which made for a great read. One that keeps the reader engaged and intrigues. The cliffhanger was simply “WOW”and worth reading 2-3 more times. It is not too late to get caught up in the Treoir Dragon Chronicles of the Belador World and be immersed into brilliantly created world and a series of great reads that only Dianna Love can deliver.
I voluntatily reviewed "TREOIR DRAGON CHRONICLES BOOK 2" WOW!!!! This book continues on from the first book in this amazing series full of suspense, intrigue, angst, surprises, secrets, challenges, twists that make for a very addicting book. Daegan is still looking for the ancient grimoires to save his people on his search he meets a historian Luigsech researcher she's cute stubborn, feisty, mysterious and might be connected to his family. Casidhe needs help to find her co-worker Fenella but she has secrets she can't reveal not being sure she can trust Daegan will he be the enemy she must avoid or the savior she needs to help her. While in Ireland Daegan runs into the Imortiks an encounter with them causes him to have their venom in his system from a scratch causing him to become vulnerable then his second in command leading the Beladors Tristan gets captured and must be found before he's tortured. Things start to get serious when humans are now aware they exist and start to panic & Daegan has to get the grimoires before this that want them for evil to ever get their hands on the books. I definitely recommend to get this extremely well written book the journey is so exciting, interesting, riviting, with new interesting entertaining, captivating characters leading you to next book to see what happens next so well worth the read loved this book a definite page turner you don't want to miss getting.
I am absolutely loving this new spinoff series to the Beladors! While this second instalment of the Treoir Dragon Chronicles doesn't give you as much background information about it's characters that book #1 did, it still shows Daegan and Casidhe revealing little parts of themselves while trying to build a trusting relationship in their search to find both Tristian and Fenella who are both missing. We also see them doing a lot of going back and forth in this book in their quest to find both of their friends, which often becomes a clash of wills and at times shows just how stubborn they both can be. I really like both of their personalities, they both have strong character, depth and an amazing will to survive whatever situation they find themselves in, and so because of this I'm really hoping that they could become possible love interests as they are so well suited and would make an excellent match, but we will have to wait and see if it happens as their story moves along in the rest of the series. Great writing as always from Dianna Love, this is such an intense exciting series to read!
Daegan is still trying to find out how to save his Beladors that have been captured by the Imortiks. He did find Casidhe only to loose her again. The Imortiks have infected Daegan which draws more of them to Daegan putting others around him in danger. Daegan has only 2 weeks to find the ancient grimoires to save his people. He needs to convince Casidhe that he is not the evil red dragon that has been harassing people of late. Casidhe is also trying to figure out things on her own and her friend was threatened by a powerful Druid who calls himself Cavan. The only way to save everyone is for Daegan to prove to Casidhe that it would be best for them to work together to get back everyone they care for.
This was another amazing book. Again it leaves you wanting more when you reach the last page. It's like "No!!! I can't be at the end of this. I need to know what happens next." Dianna always leaves you wanting more even when her books don't end in a cliff-hanger.
Book 2 of the Treoir Dragon Chronicles picks up where book 1 left off, as the first three books are all part of one continuous story. Casidhe has disappeared and Daegan is convinced she is his only hope of saving his people from the Imortiks. Cathbad is involved in his exhaustive trickery, and the Beladors are ready to assist their leader in his quest. As the story continues, there are several potential issues foreshadowed, but none yet resolved.
Full of the adventure, snarkiness, constant action, and complex backstories we know and love of the Beladors, book 3 cannot come out soon enough. Will Daegan succeed? What about other dragons and his past? Who is Casidhe really? And when will Brina finally have her baby???
If you are new to the series, stop....go back and start from the beginning. This is an amazing series, full of strong characters and amazing scenes. You must read them all!!!
Daegon needs to save his people, find and rescue Tristan, find and find a ancient grimoire, but to do that he needs help from the cute, stubborn and mysterious Luigsech researcher who might or might not have ancient connections to his family. Casidhe needs his help to rescue Fenella, her friend and co-worker, but she has secrets she can't share with him and, in any case, she's not at all sure she can trust him. I loved this second installment of the story. The constant tension and mistrust between Daeagon and Casidhe is kind of fun as are the druid Cathbad's ongoing struggles with the women in his life. There's a little less action and violence in this one than in the last book and so much is revealed that you won't have a chance to get bored. More great Belador magic for readers to enjoy.
These characters just keeps getting better! I’m so happy that these books are coming out so closely because otherwise I’d be stressing out wanting to know what happens next.
Book two starts up right where book one left off and we are on the hunt to find Casidhe. We see her trying to find out if her friend is safe and to determine if she’s actually safe from all the new supernaturals in her life. It’s fast paced and fun, but I need more! We get to see old favorites- Tristen (my absolute favorite!), Quinn and Reese (we need more with them and Phoedra! Please please please!) and adorable Lanna (who needs her own book!) Deagan has his hands full with Casidhe and I’m just loving their banter! The book is non-stop tension from all the different villains in this book. Dianna Love knows how to keep us on our toes and to have us craving for more from this amazing world she created.
The book ended with an explosive cliffhanger which usually drives me crazy as a reader but I was prepared and am so looking forward to the next book. Ms Love does a stellar job with these dragons and this world. It breaks my heart how much angst the characters are experiencing and the evil druid is so deserving of any and all pain and frustration. I am so hoping he gets all he deserves. Daegan and Casidhe’s bantering back and forth was very entertaining and I am hoping a romance may ensue. Having read all the books so far in the Belador world was quite helpful and I think readers would miss out if they had not had that background. It was a great treat to revisit characters from the previous books. I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review and I am very appreciative.
Dianna's tales in the Celtic modern day lands is full of fun and history. Her characters feel like old friends in no time. I just couldn't put it down!
Sometimes being the leader has more challenges than you'd expect, when you're a supernatural leader of a team responsible for keeping humans safe from other non humans you can see where the challenges might occur. When Daegon goes hunting for rare grimoires the last challenge he expects to face comes in the form of a young Historian with gifts of translation. This strong willed lass just doesn't know when she should back down or who the good guy is - how do you prove your good intent when she just pisses you off? Time is running out for those who were captured.. who wins? The reader -
The action, adventure, and plenty of majik continues in book 2, and it's getting so much more interesting as the story goes on.
Deagan is searching for the three parts of the book that was destroyed and the Beladors are still battling supernaturals in Atlanta to save the missing members taken by the Imorticks and keep the humans from discovering paranormals really do exist.
I usually don't read stories when I know they include cliffhangers, but Ms. Love has totally gripped my interest with the "Treoir Dragon Chronicles." The Belador world is phenomenal so I'm willing to wait for the next book to release.
I received a copy of this book from the author. My review is honest and voluntary.
Thankfully the books are released so close together! Because waiting a long time in between books would have been sucky! The second book starts exactly where the first book left off. It was a cliff hanger for sure!
The second book continues the story with Daegan battling Imortiks and trying very hard to save his people while trying to not make his reputation even worst! He really is struggling with doing what right and everything he could to save his people. Then you have the introduction of another dragon!!! The plot moves quickly and foreshadows that a lot of things that are coming. As with the first book, the cliff hanger of the second is just as good. I can't wait to read the third one!
The excitement continues! I find myself wanting to use the same superlative descriptors as I did for Book 1. But I, seriously, can’t get enough of these books. The world-building is just so creative. It’s great to get stories set in current day, but which include magic, shapeshifters, and DRAGONS. The storyline is also extremely creative. Sometimes I can guess where things are going, but often I’m surprised and delighted in how we get there. I am so fond of the characters, as well. I’d like to go to Treoir and help with the pregnancy and birth. I want to help when there are relationship troubles. And I definitely want to help Daegan with anything at all! I highly recommend this entire series!!
This second installment of the series is even better than the first, and I’m so in love with the whole Belador world. As always Dianna Love writes amazing characters you connect with. The relationship that is developing between Daegan and Casidhe is complex and tantalizing and I can’t wait to see where it goes. We get to see beloved characters from previous books, and with my favourite character Quinn’s appearance we get to see a little more how his relationship with Reese & Phoedra is going. The story is filled with excitement and intrigue and questions. As the entire series will be released within a year, I’m happy and excited I don’t have a long wait to find out what happens next.
Tristan is captured and in chains, Casidhe doesn’t know who to trust, Imortiks are attacking, ancient grimoires are lost and Daegan wants to free Tristan and find the ancient tomes. All the characters are unique and interesting, but Daegan is my favorite. I love the way he is willing to self-analyze why his approach is wrong and accept that he needs to change it. It’s a race to find the grimoires, who will succeed? I love battle scenes ……who doesn’t love great sword fighting? This action-packed book never has a dull moment, with magic, dragons, trolls, Beladors, danger, demons, a druid, mystery, suspense, captives, battles, Imortiks, swords, family and more!
Daegan is on the search for a couple of things as we get into this one. Casidhe is looking for her friend so she is ahead of him. Butting of heads do happen while searching goes on. The Beladors are battling which also grabs our attention. So much so far but much more too. Oh than Tristan lands in trouble too with we turn than Cathbad too does not have any luck with her meeting. We are all wrapped up in all this with if you looked at the readers face you would see the deer in the headlight look. You will start to get the personalities alot in this one so you begin to pick your favorites. Again so much in this one you have to catch your breath before the next one.
I am speechless and yes a little peeved to have another cliffhanger. I've finished #2 and just about swallowed my tongue at Daegan's reveal. Even though I know number 3 is only a short time away. I have loved the Belador series since the beginning when it was shared with another author, but Love has taken over and made it her own and I have loved everyone. This spin-off is no different and keeps me turning pages waiting for the next reveal of chaos or answers. So many plots and players involved all of which a Belador fan recognizes. Yes I'm going to say it WRITE FASTER.
This book was exciting from the get go. I love this series, characters, world building....everything. It's so well described for me that it's like watching a movie in my head, one I want to watch over again and have it not end for a long time. It's only part 2 in the series so I know there's more to come and I can't wait. This story is full of intrigue, conflict, heart and adventure. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone interested in any of those things. I love me some Beladors and the continuation of that world into this world is incredibly fun. I look forward to many more adventures to come with these characters, especially the Dragon King.
This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This is the second book in the Chronicles of the Belador World series written by Dianna Love. I would advise you to read all of these book in the correct order since they all pick up where the last one ends. This book continues with Daegans story. Daegan is running out of time finding the dragon who is impersonating him and he needs to save his Belador warriors. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable leaving me waiting for the next book in this series. I am so glad the next book in this series is coming very soon.
