This was such a quick and helpful and easy read! I wish I had had this book when I was laid off during a previous recession! After 30+ years in the work force and may job interviews and resumes, I often have friends ask for my help with their resumes and cover letters. Now I will tell them to read Christy’s book! So many things have changed not just with technology but also with the pandemic. This book is full of really relevant and timely advice! As a business owner new to the zoom conference call world, I have wondered a lot about video conferencing etiquette, and found my answers in Your Career Survival Guide! I will be recommending this book to my colleagues who are struggling right now with a layoff or job insecurity.

August 2, 2020This was a highly practical and smart review of multiple key topics. In particular, the chapter on conducting effective remote meeting was incredibly useful. There were so many excellent pearls, uniquely related to this "new" and inescapable way of conducting business, all of which I will be incorporating into my daily work. Thank you for this timely guide! I will be gifting it to several of the the young adults in my family, who have recently launched their own careers.

I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.
So as someone who is looking for a new job, I thought this would be a good resource but honesty, much of it is advice you can find online. And, none of is specifically strategic to finding a job during a crisis. All the author does is tack on phrases like "during an economic crisis," or "during COVID," to very general career advise.
Overall, a good book for anyone starting their career, but otherwise, not much game changing content.

August 13, 2020I enjoyed the book, in particular I liked the chapter 3 keys to Boost Your Chances of getting hired during a Downturn. I found the author s recommendation on how to personalize my cover letter and resume to fit the job to be applied considered. Throughout the book I found the author to be very insightful!

Terrific book!! Very relevant for today and the current job climate. I plan to gift this book to my family members who just graduated college and are starting their careers during the pandemic. The book is full of wisdom for today’s climate and for the future to come!
