Hopeless Romantic by Marina Adair
2nd book in the When in Rome series. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone but better as part of the series.

Beckett has her hands full raising her younger brother, keeping her father on track and trying to run her business. Flirting with bar owner Levi gives her a thrill she never imagined would go any further. Until it does.
A wonderful romance with the highs and conflicts expected. The secondary story extended from the first book has Paisley leani

I have read the first book in this series this summer so I was very happy to see I was approved for the sequel. I really liked Levi’s character in the first book so I was sure I would like it.

Levi is the most eligible bachelor of Rome (Rhode Island, not Italy), he has his own restaurant and is an uncle to now almost grown up teenage girl. Beckett on the other hand is a very busy girl, with her brother and dad she takes care of as well as million other stuf

This was a fun, light, romantic comedy that was a perfect escape. I enjoyed the first book and this was a perfect continuation. I enjoyed the cameos from the characters I loved in the first book and really enjoyed Beckett and Levi getting the main stage. Beckett is a funny, caring, and selfless character and I was rooting for her to get the growth she needed. And I love her father and brother even with their difficulties from being on the spectrum. IM did think Levi’s change from unapologetic ba ...more

I really enjoyed Marina Adair's first book in this series, RomeAntically Challenged, and was so excited to read her upcoming sequel, Hopeless Romantic!

Hopeless Romantic had some really wonderful aspects - I LOVE the incorporation of autism and the personal and familial struggles that go along with that. The characters were fun and had great chemistry. You see a l

I’ve enjoyed all of Marina’s books that I’ve read and I was eager to get my greedy eyes on this one.

I loved Beckett and Levi. They’re both loyal and loving and crazy busy with their responsibilities. I enjoyed getting both of their POVs while they bantered and flirted and reveled in the chemistry they have. There are a good group of secondary characters and they were delightful.

Plot wise, it was nearly all fluff. I expected a lot of angst and spent a good portion of the read expecting the other

Hopeless Romantic
By Marina Adair

Marina Adairs delivers a lovely romantic read that is perfectly balanced between two main characters whose love life had always been put in the backburner - always sacrificing themselves for their families. I absolutely enjoyed this beautiful story that tugged at my heart strings. Beckett and Levi are just so perfect for each other and I loved their characters, their families and their quest for finding love - finally for these selfless people. Completely relatabl

If I had known this was a second book in a series I would not have selected it. I came in cold and didn't know all of the relationships/characters so felt very behind while reading this one. Ultimately I gave this one 3 stars because it did not hold my interest at all. The flow of the book was really slow throughout the first half and then we suddenly go into relationship mode and I struggled to finish this o

I wish I can say that I enjoyed reading this… alas, I lost interest somewhere about 40% into the book. In addition, the last-minute drama and how Levi reacted to it, cemented my initial opinion about the guy. I thought he was an a$$ who was full of judgement towards Beckett.

First thing, this was the second book in Marina Adair’s When in Rome series. Please note that this is Rome, Rhode Island, not the one in Italy *smile*. While some books can be read as st
I wanted to enjoy this as much as book one but it just didn’t compare. I will explain in my review which is pending.

After having read book one I couldn’t wait for this book to be published. RomeAntically Challenged had me laughing out loud and who couldn’t use a good laugh? This book focuses on Beckett Hayes, Annie Walsh’s best friend, from book one. This book can stand alone

Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Publishing for proving me with this ARC!

I didn't realize this was the second book in a series! I found the story heartwarming and sweet. I really enjoyed the banter from the beginning and found that Beckett and Levi had a lot of chemistry; I especially enjoyed how they worked well, to be honest, and to hold each other accountable. However, I really wish I had read Book 1 first. I think it would've given me better insight into the characters and their history

Happy Reading, friends!

I should have know when Queen Jill Shalvis writes the blurb that I will love it, but this one genuinely surprised me!

Marina writes a tale of wild, fun, and memorable characters. She throws in all these little pieces, quotes, and tidbits that make the characters really seem real. I laughed out loud at certain parts especially with the Greek grandmother and her "sight".

& Beckett & Levi sure are feeling a lot of it, with work and family, they never seem to get any time for themselves.

I was SO excited to head back to Rome, Rhode Island for book 2, and hear Levi’s story after the 3 Men & a Baby vibes in the first book. Levi’s world is completely changed when Beckett walks into his bar and rocks his boat.

Beckett doesn’t believe that happily ever afters are for her, instead focusing on the happiness of nearly

Beckett and Levi both put parts of their lives on hold in order to care for their families. After her mother left, Beckett assumed the role of caregiver to her father and brother, both on the autism spectrum, while Levi served as the support system for his mother and sister following his father's death and sister's unexpected pregnancy. Neither had been interested in a romantic relationship until Beckett walked into Levi's bar with a chicken and the sparks flew. They just needed

I wanted to say that I can't talk about the representation of autism in this book, but from the little that I know, I found it very good and very well done.
This book is about family, how sometimes we put other people above us and our happiness, the book talks a lot about it in the view of the two characters.
In addition to talking about loss, grief, overcoming, love, family, resp

Hopeless Romantic is a slow-burn story about two overextended people who are completely dedicated to their families and who fall in love despite the chaos: Beckett, a quirky concierge/ therapy animal trainer and Levi, a hot bar and marina owner. The first half of the book is good - lots of banter, flirting, and getting to know the characters. I appreciated Beckett's brother and father who are both on the Autism spectrum. The author clearly did a lot of research to make Thomas' character (the bro ...more

I just love Rome, Rhode Island and this group of dads finding their way through parenting, life, and love. Levi and Beckett's story of letting others in and letting them help and recognizing life for what it was is so relatable and real. Their slow burn was worth the wait, but the end felt so hurried that I think I still have question. I can't wait for Grey's book to get a little more of each character and to finally find his love. ...more

I loved the first book in this series and couldn't wait to begin Hopeless Romantic!

The premise is interesting. Overworked and underappreciated Beckett Hayes who has a dad with Asperger syndrome who is high functioning and a musical savant, and an autistic brother, trains service animals, runs her own business, and does not have time to date. Levi Rhodes, is left running his family's marina and restaurant after the death of his father, then his sister is pregnant, then she dies, and he n

I read RomeAntically Challenged and enjoyed it, so I was excited for this book!

Right off the bat, I felt like there may have been a miss in the title. I expected it to have the pun like the first title did and be Hopeless RomeAntic, but I'm sure there was a reason for that.

Honestly, I really enjoyed the first 80% of the book and would've given it a higher rating had it not gone off the rails. The sex scene was when it started to go downhill for me. I just can't take it seriously when the scene

I absolutely adored Romeantically Challenged so when I received a copy of this ARC, I dropped everything to return to Rome, RI. This was a slooowwww burn. I loved traveling back to Rome, Rhode Island. Following this trip of "dads" is such a highlight.

In this installment we follow the Uncle Dad Levi and watch him slowly realize his life partner had been in the same town all along.

We come to really fall for Beckett and how chaotic her life is. Watching her find a balance for her self and her family was at times really difficult. Adair really helps the reader understand how taxing, and yet wonderful, living with special needs family members can be.

Beckett and Levi have been circling each other for years but these two family/workaholics never take time to make something happen...until now.

Beckett has been carrying for her father and brother, who are both on the Autism spectrum, since her mom left when she was just a teenager. At almost thirty she’s decided the most she can hope for is no long term expectations with guys who are looking for the same but who also don’t excite her in really way. Beckett and Levi share a number of friends in the town of Rome, Long Island.

They been pushed together even more than ever as their best friends become engaged and start planning their wedding.

Neither really has time for anything outside of their business pursuits and initially they seem at odds, although it's obvious they are attracted to each other. In true romancelandia style, a beautiful relationship develops.

To be honest though, what I liked most about this book was the way that the author

I don’t know what to say other than this was utterly delightful! I loved the relationship between Beck and Levi. Their banter plus the push and pull they had going on really kept this story alive for me. I had a great time watching the story unfold in this small town filled with its own cast of intriguing characters.

“And when their lips met, he knew that he couldn’t make a wrong move...”

I’m curious about what happens in Rome next!

Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy.
