While promoting her next novel, a Christmas love story, author Riley Reynolds is caught off guard when she’s asked during a live national television interview how she can write about romance when she still hasn’t found “the one” herself. Scrambling for an answer, she quickly answers that she has had great love in her past and that love inspired her novels.

I received a free copy free from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review. I love Christmas book’s and Christmas movie I love to hear and sing Christmas songs. So this book was meant for me. I hope Christmas Ever After will be made into a hallmark movie. A very enjoyable read it on me in the Christmas spirt 5 star read.

Riley Reynolds isn't exactly Scrooge, but she hasn't celebrated Christmas since she was a young girl. Her most recent novel didn't do as well as she had hoped though and her publisher thinks it's time their top romance author gives reader their wish, a Christmas novel. Christmas Camp, a well-known hosted event at gorgeous bed and breakfasts, is the key to getting her holiday juices going. Only, her fans are going to be there and her publicist may h
Christmas Ever After is such a FUN and FUNNY book! The premise was a bit different from other holiday rom-coms but the romance was just as plentiful! Karen Schaler has written holiday themed books in the past and a few may be familiar to you if you watch the Hallmark Channel this time of year. Christmas Ever After was just the story I needed this week leading up to the "big day." It was a reminder of love, the importance of family and also gave a big nod to celebrating eco-friendly. I loved it a ...more

A great read! Fun contemporary novel set at Christmastime in a snowy setting. The heroine is an author who lost her Christmas mojo when she was eight years old and her daddy passed away. Presently, her publisher is asking for a Christmas love story and she has no idea how to find her Christmas spirit. A trip to the Christmas Camp is just what she needs to find joy and true love. Her three ex-boyfriends provide lots of humor to the story. I can see this plot for a Hallmark movie! I highly recomme ...more

Nothing says holiday spirit like the descriptions in this book.
I love Christmas time, the feeling of goodness this time of year brings.
So cozy up by the fire with your warm drink, hot drink and blanket and let the book take you away into a winter wonderland!

This is the story about a Riley, an author and a self proclaimed grinch who has to become Miss Christmas for a Christmas Camp she is hosting for a new Christmas book she is supposed to be writing. Then it turns into an episode of The Bachelorette and I just wanted it to end. I will admit to enjoying the cheesiness of it all, it would make for a great Hallmark Christmas movie. I thank Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Christmas 2021 - Naughty/DNF

This story of a romance author promoting her new Christmas book was a fail for me. I don’t always notice the “show, don’t tell” criticism that reviewers complain about, but this novel hit me over the head with examples. The sentence below was the final straw in a novel I was not enjoying. SIX characters are mentioned, and except for Mike and Riley, who I already didn’t like, none of them had yet appeared in the story:

When Mike recently learned Luke’s mom, Margaret, w

This was such a cute holiday read that has the potential to be my favourite read of the season!

Beyond anything else, this novel has the most amazing setting which created the perfect atmosphere for a winter holiday read. In all honesty, that's only one small reason why I loved this book so much but I think it's the biggest reason for me. This story (and the setting) gave me all of the warmhearted feelings of winter and reminded me why I love the season.

I was nervous when the novel introduced a s

This story was amazing and hopefully will make it to Hallmark Countdown to Christmas! I can see this making it on the big screen! I fell in love with Riley and Luke and laughed so many times with all the antics at The Christmas Lodge. Oh, and Comet held a special place in my heart.

This was such a fun, sweet romance. I devoured it in one sitting. I could not put it down. Schaler needs to write more Christmas romances. The Characters were so real. This would make a great Hallmark movie.

I knew when I settled into this one that it would be delightful and full of holiday feelings. I’ve enjoyed every one of her holiday stories so far, and this one was just as enjoyable!

This is one of those stories where a person that doesn’t enjoy Christmas at all is thrust into something very Christmas-y and eventually opens her heart to the holiday season. I always, always love this type of story! In this case, famous author Riley Reynolds is told by her publisher that she needs to write a Chri

Christmas Ever After by Karen Schaler 4.5 stars

Oh this book reads like a Christmas #Hallmark movie! It’s so fun. Riley is like the grinch and has never celebrated Christmas for many years. As a way to save her career, she has to host a Christmas Camp at Christmas Lake! You can’t get more Christmassy than that!

To top that, she is placed in a room with Santa everywhere and a Santa sleigh for a bed! I’d love to see that in the movie. And oh! The Santa alarm clock says Ho Ho Ho! LOL! I really love t

I love Christmas books. I love Christmas movies, especially Hallmark ones. They always leave me feeling so good. This book did not disappoint!
Riley is an author in trouble. Her last book missed it mark and now her publisher wants a Christmas romance. Should be easy except Riley doesn’t have a special person in her life and hasn’t celebrated Christmas since she was eight years old. What in the world was her team thinking when they set her up for a Christmas Camp with her fans and started marketi
Author Riley Reynolds is not a fan of Christmas as she lost her father at Christmastime when she was a young girl. Her last novel, a summer read, didn't do well and now she is promoting her latest offering - a Christmas love story. It’s a lovely read, but I am it’s target I love a sweet Christmas Romance. I could see this as a Hallmark movie , it would be so good

I'm finishing this a day late. I really need to finish these types of books prior to Christmas to get myself into the Christmas spirit. This book was a very cute tale about an author whose books aren't selling well so she has been pushed into writing a Christmas romance novel, even though she doesn't celebrate Christmas because of a personal tragedy when she was little. I enjoyed the characters, but mostly I enjoyed the setting and the dog!

A new book by Karen Schaler? Of course, sign me up. The queen of holiday romance, dubbed “Christmas Karen” by the press, has finally released her newest holiday read on 9/29, and I’m thrilled to have gotten a copy.

Author Riley Reynolds is writing a “suggested by her publisher” Christmas book to win back her readers after her last book tanked. Problem is, Riley hasn’t celebrated Christmas since she was 8 years old, and knows nothing about a traditional Christmas. When she’s caught off guard in an

Christmas Ever After by Karen Schaler is the second Christmas-themed story that I have read from this author, and I must say that even from this small sampling, Ms Schaler can certainly bring the holiday spirit, even on a grey and drizzly day in October. If you have watched and enjoyed A Christmas Prince on Netflix (also written by Karen Schaler) you are in for a treat with this sweeter than a candy cane story.

Riley is a highly successful romance author but her last book seemed to lack a persona

Poorly written

‘Since Riley couldn’t do this, Riley decided to do that’. ‘Riley looked down at her shoes and saw they were wet’.
Can you say ‘Too boring to go on’?
3rd person writing distances the reader from the characters, rather than drawing them into the story.
For me, the story wasn’t unfolding quickly enough to put up with the boring writing.

An amazing book. The best christmas read of 2020... I never knew what to expect with a new author but the setting blew me away and i thought why not?
Well i am not disspointed in this one bit. We begin in NYC with Ardley having to make a TV interview to discuss her upcoming book which will be a Christmas romance. Riley has no Christmas cheer or traditions so this is going to be a huge problem for her. Her TV interview goes from bad to worse and before you know it Riley is being marched to Colora

First sentence: Reynolds heard them moments before she saw them. People were singing Christmas songs, different Christmas songs, all at the same time, in exuberant, joyful voices. There was “Joy to the World,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.” “What in the world . . .” Riley said as she stepped out of the hotel elevator into the lavish lobby of the Royal Grand Central Park, one of New York City’s finest hotels, and found more than a hundred high-spirited Christ ...more

Nothing says Christmas like a bourbon and coke by the pool in the summer sun right!? 🤪 just kidding! Thank you so much to @netgalley for this ARC of Christmas Ever After.

The writer of Netflix’s A Christmas Prince wrote this book. And y’all am I so excited. It’s about an author who is promoting her next novel, a Christmas love story. She is holding a huge even called Christmas Camp to help promote her book. But chaos ensues when three of her ex boyfriend show up at the camp to win h

I'm feeling snarky. I wanted a nice Christmas romance, and some online friends of mine recommended this book. So I tried. It didn't work. Below are my impressions, until I slammed the book shut in disgust (metaphorically speaking, of course, as I read it on kindle).
4% - still a back story of the female protagonist, Riley. I'm bored with her sob-story past, but I'm persevering. Maybe soon, the real story starts.
5% - hooray, the first meeting of the future sweethearts.

After reading three Christmas novels by Karen Schaler, I’m officially saying that I will read every Christmas novel she ever releases.

Her books are like a hug infused with Christmas magic.

Christmas Ever After might be my favourite book now. I loved being at a new location and having a new furry companion. Our male hero is definitely something special.

But most of all, we have Riley. Stories dealing with grief always hold a special place with me. Seeing her journey and building friendships at Chr

Karen does wonders with a Christmas story every year for last 2 years been looking forward to her books. This had simular plot of Christmas camp with different aspects at times but after some same story line turned into its own but still good just not as good as other books. Her books can easily get you in the mood for the holidays so always suggest them plus the dogs are always cute in the story. 4.5/5.

he setting of the Christmas Lake Lodge was magical. I was completely entertained by the humorous banter from Riley. Even though uncomfortable in her Christmas setting, she made the best of it with help from those around her. It was a story of learning to release your past and forge ahead towards a new future.
It was inspiring and a joy to read.

The only negative in the whole book was some editing issues, but I was so engaged with the entire story that I was able to overlook them.

Cute Christmas story. It got a little crazy at times, and I don’t think the characters responded like real people would. Especially the exes.

Anyway, very cute and fun read.
