It's pretty much a glorified art book. It doesn't really show you how to draw them as it does the process of how the artist drew them. Meaning it shows you a rough draft, a better version, a non colored version of it and then the finished product. For me it was a waste of money but the art was very nice.

The two initial sketches for each figure were helpful, but jumping from a bare outline to a fully drawn picture doesn't explain anything. Also, I know manga often has a lot of fan service and scantily clad ladies, but it would have been nice for some less sexist portrayals of female manga characters.

There isn't a single good picture in this collection and the best I could see was "not bad." Also most of the images were highly degrading to the female characters. Truly appalling.

I'd skip this one and look at the later additions to the series.

I'm not a very good artist. In fact, I'm terrible. And this book does very little to change that unfortunate fact. The book begins each drawing with a stick-figure. The next panel shows a fleshed-out figure. I showed this to an accomplished artist, whose work I admire. With one quick look, he determined that there were about two steps missing, between the stick-figure drawing, and the next panel. I do not recommend this book for beginners.

It had pretty cool pictures but it wasn't at all what I was looking for. I was looking for a more so detailed drawing book. This didn't give really good detail or good steps.
