I was imprisoned for twenty-seven years for the crime of defending my King. Now I’m a free man, and I rule the Court of Paravel once more. The lords and ladies, the debutantes, the great and the good of Paravel all answer to me.
And yet, social upstart Wraye Rugova is ruining my life.
Lady Wraye is attempting to use my daughter Aubrey as a springboard into the upper echelons of the court. When I find her in my house trying on Aubrey’s clothes, no amount of pleading will move my ironclad heart. Decades may have passed, but I remember how to punish a disobedient young lady.
She’s deceived everyone with ease, but now she’ll face the hardest ordeal of all. Devrim’s discipline.
This is going to sting.
Author’s note: This book contains a Daddy Dom relationship with a thirty-two-year age-gap.
There's nothing Brianna Hale likes more than a large, stern alpha male with a super-protective and caring streak, and when she's not writing about them she can usually be found with a book, a cocktail, planning her next trip to a beautiful location or attending the theatre. She believes that pink and empowerment aren’t mutually exclusive, and everyday adventures are possible. Brianna lives in London.
A hot daddy for us girls to fawn over, Brianna Hale brings us a tantalizing read. It's short, fast-paced and very much fulfilling.
“I warned you what would happen if I caught you sneaking around my daughter.” My breath comes in short pants. “You wouldn’t dare.” The Archduke smiles wickedly. “Wouldn’t I?”
Archduke Devrim Levanter is the Captain of King's guard. Imprisoned at 26years after the rebels killed his King and Queen, now after the fall of rebels he is back after 27years ready to take back his position as the guard to the new King. Devrim's only daughter, Aubrey is called back to her father. Devrim is of control and discipline, issuing punishment whenever things doesn't go his way. He is strict to the core. When a wayward, unladylike woman is caught in his daughters room stealing her dress, he is furious. Wrayne Rugova is the only daughter of Lady Rugova of Paravel whose worldly goods and titles were lost and are now living working as chambermaids in the slums. Wrayne was bullied while growing up. She is outspoken and a warm woman. After the fall of the rebels the new King restores the wealth of the Court members. The Paravel are the lowest member, Wrayne's mother is determined to be invited to the Court to regain their family wealth using any means. Wrayne is forced to pretend to be rich and attend extravagant balls where she meets Aubrey and they hit of together. Aubrey invited Wrayne to her house and tries on her dress when Devrim sees her thinking she is a thief. Devrim is ready to spank her and threatens her to never see his daughter again.
Devrim and Wrayne has sexual filled banter. He was a brute and she a sassy firecracker. Devrim's boundaries are tested whenever Wrayne disobeys him and he is not used to disobedience. My least favourite side characters are Wrayne's mother, I wanted to throttle her all the time and Aubrey, she comes out as bitchy and unforgiving at the end. There is a book yet to be released on Aubrey and I hope the author makes her character likeable.
Genre: Contemporary Romance Type: Book 1 of 4 from Court of Paravel series. POV: First Person - Dual Rating:
Archduke Devrim Levanter tasted freedom after 27 years of incarceration. With a reclaimed position as the Captain of the King’s Guard, he prided himself on his discipline and self-control. That was until the young Lady Wraye Rugova came into his life and tested both of their boundaries.
I loved Devrim and his traditions. He tried to do what he thought was the right thing. However, there was a certain thing about his past that felt unresolved. Wraye might be young, but I liked how considerate she was and not quite innocent.
“I’m going to have to teach you a lesson, little girl."
This one was an easy and light read. I enjoyed the setting of the Court and its people. The sex scenes were tantalizing though I wish there was more disciplining involved.
Devrim’s Discipline is a story of personal fulfillment. It would appeal to readers looking for a light and quick Daddy kink read.
✓ Well-written ✓ Silver fox grumpy hero (with a soft interior) ✓ Likable heroine ✓ Funny & cute ✓ Engaging storyline ✓ Emotionally touching ✓ Seriously taboo - no joking around with the age-gap ✓ Daddy kink (Not my preference, but Brianna Hale writes it so well she has me questioning my sexuality 😂)
This is the Brianna Hale I like. This was just a pleasure to read. Somehow she pulls off these taboo premises (that aren't dark at all, just taboo). The characterization was solid, which helped make this an emotionally touching story. I look forward to reading book 2, Aubrey's story.
Side-note: For some reason I started this thinking it was mafia (??) No idea how I got that notion. These are royals, "Court" is even in the title. Brianna Hale has this talent for writing in all these different niche sub-genres I usually don't read and I end up enjoying them.
Wow! This was especially delicious in a way I never expected!
I was amazed at how much I really loved both Devrim and Wraye. I enjoy a bit of an age gap but usually nothing as much as thirty-two years so I was a little worried. However, the age actually never became a huge issue, especially between these characters and I found it didn’t bother me either.
Wraye was young but she had lived a pretty hard life and I think that helped to mature her to a place where she was capable of holding her own with Devrim when needed. However, she found herself thinking “daddy” thoughts before it was ever introduced between them helping it to feel organic when it did arise. She was strong enough to stand up to anyone she felt she needed to even if that was Devrim and I respect that in a heroine.
Devrim was that silver fox you imagine when the term is used and I would be surprised if Wraye didn’t have a reaction to him when he said and did some of the things he did. And he is quite bold which only made me swoon all the more. Despite his dominance in private, he never pushed Wraye in any way that crossed her lines.
One part that was a tiny bit cringe worthy, in my opinion, was during “daddy” play as this couple have a conversation that just felt wrong during this moment and time and took me completely out of the story. Otherwise, this is filled with so much steam as well as plenty of plot and drama. This was a fast-paced story that kept me engaged from the first page. I loved everything about this world Ms. Hale created and I cannot wait to get more of it!

We back with Brianna new series and it was pretty fast pace and some steamy moments.
Wraye has befriended Aubrey over few things in their world, dances and dresses and become fast friends but Aubrey forgot to inform her father who has been in prison for long time catches Wraye trying on dresses thinking shes a theif. Tension is between the two and at the moment its high the banter is hot also. Plus the drama in court the gossip peoples spread about anyone.
As for Wraye I liked her she was a good heroine spoke her mind had her claws and begged for Devrim when he teased her. She did have mommy issues girl needs to tell mama "NO". Took me awhile to warm up to Devrim.. couple times he was a brute and I was "LET HER TALK MAN!!" but he did grow and I loved him more.
I was alittle bummed at Aburey and her reaction she was well alittle bitchy about the age and her dad marrying her friend. I hope her story is better cuz i liked her in the beginning.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, secondary character, Drama, sexy times, virgin gal no manwhore celibate

After being imprisoned for 27 years, Archduke Devrim Levanter returns to his position as Captain of the King’s Guard. With so much time lost, he tries reacclimate but has difficulty with the past and his relationship with his daughter. But when Lady Wraye Rugova appears, Devrim sees her as a means to an ends until she appeals to his Daddy tendencies.
“You’re just so spankable, Lady Wraye.”
As the story shifts between the perspectives of Devrim and Wraye, it becomes clear how much they were affected by the royal rebellion, just in different ways. Though Devrim was accustomed to his status and had to deal with the loss, Wraye was immune to the prestige of royal stations and that made me like her.
For me, this story needed much more development, especially given this is the first book of the series. Things moved very quickly between Devrim and Wraye and I didn’t feel their connection other than playful daddy discipline.
Devrim’s Discipline is an age gap romance that would appeal to those who enjoy a royal setting.
very interesting story! there's this historical feel because of words like Court, Lord, King which only makes it more refreshing. we are introduced to Devrim, 53 and his daughter's friend Wraye, 21.
this thirty two year age-gap between Devrim & Wraye honestly caught my attention (and some of you guys as well 😉) so i'm very curious to see how Brianna Hale will handle this topic. i personally feel that it's done beautifully and the issue here isn't just their age gap but also the difference in their social status. though they're literally the opposites of each other, their strong desire & need for each other did not stop them from seeing each other.
Dd/lg here is not too extreme. after their initial encounter, things get hotter and hotter before Devrim finally turns on his FULL daddy mode 😝 however! it would be better if Devrim's daughter called him Dad and not Daddy. makes it a little confusing at times 🙃
highly recommended if you're into age-gap romance, feisty & sassy heroine, alpha Daddy who's more than willing to engage in some HOT spanking actions! 4 stars ✨💫
Tropes:age-gap,daddy-dom,royalty *Where can I find a daddy duke please?* Whoa this was my first book by this author and I’m not disappointed.I’ve tried reading books with daddy kink before and I just couldn’t finish them but Devrim’s Discipline was surprisingly good and I enjoyed every second of it.There’s no hardcore BDSM if you’re worried about that and the use of “Daddy” isn’t too much, just the right amount.I was intrigued from the first page and it just kept getting better.Wraye and Devrim had really good chemistry and I love love loved all their encounters even the first awkward one.Their 32 year old age-gap might make certain readers uncomfortable but I was just over the moon when I found out he’s 53 and she’s 21 because *clears throat* yours truly is into daddies. Plot: Imprisoned for 27 years and losing the best years of his life behind bars after his king and queen died,Devrim is overwhelmed when he’s freed and offered back his old position as the king’s guard after the restoration of monarchy.Of course finding a certain young lady snooping through his daughter’s dresses doesn’t help the trust issues he’s developed during his imprisonments years. He’s ready to confront the little thief when he finds out she’s in fact not a thief at all...
Devrim's Discipline was a very interesting story. I thought it was well written and the characters, especially Devrim were lovable and relatable. The story has an almost historical feel because of the King, and Courts, but it is written in today's time, which was a very good twist.
'Devrim's Discipline' is an age gap Standalone Romance written by the author Brianna Hale. This book is the first part of the 'Court Of Paravel' series and is told in dual perspectives.
I am not one who is a huge fan of the Daddy link , so I was a bit cringy in the starting of this book , but it picked off really good. I found myself enjoying the storyline and found a particular liking to all the characters.
Devrim has finally tasted freedom after being locked for about 30 years. He is angry as the best years of his life have been taken from him. Reappointed at his earlier post in the court , he is trying to get his life back in control.
That is until he stumbles upon the beautiful lady Wraye. All of his carefully constructed plans come down crashing and no matter how many barriers of age difference stand between them , they can't stay away! I absolutely loved the chemistry between the characters and the rest of the storyline.
This book was a great one time read for me , and is recommended to all the Kinky people out there , for whom Daddy kink is not gross!! This book is going to be one amazing read for them!
Los libros de AGE GAP son mi placer culposo... demandenme hahhaha
Pero este libro es de los más flojitos que he leído, o sea, el tipo la ve y a los 2 segundos ya le está dando nalgadas y ella lo está disfrutando... I MEAN, WTF!!!!?
*Court Me, Daddy* A Story of Royal Intrigue, Steam and Kink! *arc generously provided by the promo team in exchange for an honest review*
What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible) After twenty-seven years, Devrim’s fresh out of imprisonment. He plans on making up on all time lost. When he meets Wraye Rugova, he knows something is up. This girl is trying to use his precious daughter for her own gain! He won’t let her get away with it. He might’ve been locked up, but he’s not new to punishing the disobedient. (Daddy Dom relationship, thirty-two-year age gap)
This should be my second Brianna Hale read and it was deliciously sweet and stingy! Devrim sure knows how to make it sting. The story was full of intrigue that left you wanting more. The characters have amazing chemistry with each other and with the reader. It was easy for me to relate to them and love them. Wraye was a lovely lead girl and I hoped for her to get her happy ending because she truly deserved it. Devrim is stubborn, but DAMN, that steam is impeccable. He has values and he’s been hurt. Now, he’s only trying to keep it together and protect the ones he loves most. I honestly can’t wait for the next instalments of this series. Hale knows how to steam and couple it with genuinely interesting stories. GIMME GIMME MOREEEEEEEE!!!!!! I recommend this to all the kinky ladies, strong heroine admirers and readers looking to have a nice little escape into a new world.
Original comment: What a lovely and steamy read !!!!!!!!!
I am a huge fan of age gape and royal romance and this one really was no different, but I had a hard time enjoying Devrim at the beginning of this story. He had been in prison for a very long time so he has a hard texture and doesn't trust anyone including his daughter - to a point. So when his daughter becomes friends with Wraye he finds he must protect her rather she wants it or not.
But poor Wraye isn't after anything that Devrim has other than his daughter's friendship. But when he starts to discipline her she finds she enjoys it a little more than maybe she should.
Again it took me a little bit to get used to this story but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I will read the others that go with series. I am highly anticipating them.
4.5 stars Another great age-gap romance by Brianna Hale! I was hooked on this book from the start. Devrim Levanter is the Archduke and part of the King's Court. He protects the King and Queen of Paravel. But when they die and an uprising occurs, he's locked away in jail for 27 years. Finally free, and with the downfall of the rebels who first overtook the throne, he is now thrust back into his old job with the new King. He can finally be with his daughter Aubrey, who has grown up without him. Wraye is a member of one of the First Families, the lowest one, and her mother is determined to be invited back to Court and for them to regain their family home. Wraye is forced to attend the extravagant balls each week with her mother, despite their lack of money. There, she meets Aubrey, the daughter of Devrim, and they quickly become friends. When she goes to Aubrey's house and tries on her dress, Devrim thinks she's a thief. He almost spanks her as punishment, but Aubrey interferes. Now, Devrim is on Wraye's mind and she on his. They keep seeing each other and slowly get to know one another. But they can't be together because of the giant age gap and of the differences in status. And because Wraye is keeping a big secret. I absolutely loved this taboo, age-gap romance set in the whimsical world of Paravel. I loved Wraye and Devrim together and the development of their relationship. This was definitely a steamy romance with many steamy scenes. My only issues were that Wraye's mother seemed to disappear at the very end of the novel, and I felt she should've been punished, but instead she got off easily. I also wish there had been slightly more about Aubrey and her and Wraye's friendship and her and her father's relationship once she found out about everything. Other than that, the plot was interesting and kept me invested in the story. I really loved this book and I can't wait for the next books in the series. 4.5 stars
"Pretty Lady Wraye up against a window and panting for Daddy." I sink my teeth into her earlobe. "I can feel you getting tighter, sweet girl. Are you going to come for me?"
Devrim's Discipline by the one and only Brianna Hale is another super hot Daddy, age gap romance. No one can write a Daddy romance quite like Brianna Hale. Her writing is direct and to the point with a little flair every now and then for dramatic effect. I always fly through her books and Devrim's Discipline was no exception. I almost read it in one sitting. While Devrim isn't my favorite Daddy of Hale's (I'm still wildly in love with Laszlo from The Protege), I definitely enjoyed him and Wraye's relationship. I had fun in this new royal world and I'm excited for more. There is a HUGE age gap between the two (I'm talking 30+ years) but I didn't mind it. Devrim has been in prison since his twenties, so he missed out on raising his daughter and having a normal relationship. He's your typical alpha Daddy. He enjoys being sassed and issuing punishment for said sass. He also greatly enjoys being the one to care for Wraye. Wraye is a young woman who has unfortunately had a rough time growing up. After the coup that upheaved their nation, she had to quit school at 16 and work at a hotel with her mother to make ends meet. Her mother (while I can understand her motives) is kind of a terrible person. Her mother will do anything to get back everything she lost. Wraye hates how fake Court is but she instantly connects with Aubrey, and when she comes over to have tea she meets Aubrey's father Devrim. It's a rocky start but they can't deny that sparks fly when they touch and of course it takes off from there.
Read this if you enjoy: -Daddy/little girl kink -big age gaps -silver foxes -royal setting -fast friendships -best friend's dad trope
Overall rating 4 stars (3.5 if I'm being picky) Steaminess 3 stars
This was a good quick age gap/ forbidden romance read. The story was written very well and flowed easily. The daddy kink is light and sexy and worked for this. I really enjoyed it over all.
Brianna Hale is quickly becoming a favorite and a one click author for me. Her age gap, Daddy stories just hit all the right notes for me. If you don't like those things then just pass on this book. The whole story just sort of blew me away. I loved how strict and stern Devrim is and even though she's a bit scared, Wraye is intrigued by him. She becomes friends with his daughter and is caught trying her clothes on. They both know their attraction is taboo but they can't resist each other. But Wraye's mother is up to no good and it may backfire on the couple. Twists, turns, forbidden love, it's all in here. The connection between the two is hot and steamy and I'm glad I was by myself when I read it. I hate being interrupted while reading a good story. When it all comes down to it, age is just a number and love will always win!! Get this book!!!! I want the next one now!!!
The world building in this series opener is fantastic. Though it begins a bit slowly, that reduced speed is necessary in order to create a foundation for the plot. Once the pair meet, things begin to move at just the right speed. Devrim and Wraye have an instant chemistry that must be wrangled on each end based on what they each internally believe is possible. Wraye’s inner core of strength, which never sinks to being foolishly obstinate really shines throughout this book. It also makes her submission something truly wonderful to read. I am hopeful we will see more of the two of them in upcoming books.
New to me author. Why am I just now discovering Brianna Hale? Wow I loved Devrim and Wraye. I also enjoyed the aspect of how the story was written, modern yet still old world. Enjoyed it very much. I can not wait for Aubrey's story.
Earlier this year I read a Hale book and was captivated by the story and the style of writing. Hale wrote a beautiful story that happened to have a DD/LG relationship in it. It was an important part of the story but it wasn’t the only defining aspect of the story.
To stay the least I was excited she was back doing royal inspired series which involves some pent up frustrated heroes who have been caught up in a royal coup. I was captivated by the cover. It’s been a while where I read a story of a older man and younger woman where it’s not over the top drama and insta. It’s a game and this one is delightfully fun and entertaining.
Parvel has just returned to its former glory after 27 years and Devrim is in his element. He is force to be reckoned with and Wraye just pushes his buttons unintentionally. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind and Devrim is just caught up in this brazen beauty. Wraye wants nothing to do with him given his reaction to her but that is the chase that this Daddy Dom is all ready for.
Wraye is wiser when it came to the matters that truly mattered. She wasn’t ready for the chemistry and Devrim need a firm hand to convince her. She was truly a friend first to Aubrey his daughter who has a role in this romance. She didn’t want to be prim and proper for her mother. She wanted to be free to live her own life. Devrim has other ideas about that and his ways are convincing.
Their relationship started of course being all about the chemistry and lust but Devrim seemed to have ulterior motives in his subconscious. It was fast once they got on the same page and their scenes in the bedroom where spicy.
Wraye quickly picked up the mood and idea behind the concept and she was delight as partner to Devrim. She knew despite her tender years what was best and she was ready for it. The first book in this new series was fun and enjoyed the royal take on this relationship. As who doesn’t love a bit a scandal in the courts.
It does have the typical charm of the courts which is the background to this romance and perfectly suited for these two . Throwing out the rules and letting love rule is always fun and this story delivers a heartwarming story that I would expect from Hale.
Before I'll even start with my review I would like to tell you that I love Daddy romance, I LOVE Brianna Hale, love her world building, plots and twist but!!! This is a different review of what I usually write about Brianna's books.
I started this book but, quitted it at 25% but for my reasons only! Brianna's world building is one of my favorite but this one didn't do it for me. Not my cup of tea, or coffee in my case.
This is a story of a clash between old and new. Modern royals of a country in Europe with strict traditions.
Archduke Devrim Levanter, is 53 years old when he's been released from prison after 27 years. He has a daughter which he hasn't seen since she was a baby and now is ready to meet her, build his life and take back his place as the head of the king's guard.
Lady Wraye Rugova , 21 years old ( yes, there's a crazy age gap here!) comes back to court with her mother to try and restore the family's name. And she befriended with Devirm's daughter Aubrey. Wryne is no lady, she may look that way most of the time but she didn't grow up as one, and Devirm notices that and is drawn to her immediately.
Their passion is off the charts but... I couldn't power on and quitted this one at 25%. The mixture of the old with the new gave me headache, I couldn't keep up with it. I adore Brianna and her work but I guess historic novels aren't for me, even if the $ex is super super hot and delicious.
I am quickly becoming a BIG Brianna Gale fan. This new series about the Court of Paravel is going to be my favorite yet, I think.
I won an early copy of this book from a giveaway, and I devoured it in about 2 hours!!! I will admit to being a little confused by the set up of the world/the court itself, but I feel like that will fill in as I read more of the series.
We start with Devrim, who has been in prison for 27 years as a traitor. But when the new King take back control, Devrim is released and put pack in charge and is a high member of the court. He has a daughter that he hasn't seen for her whole life, so he is very protective of her and always watching for social climbers who might take advantage. He wants to get her safely married off and get back in control of his life.
When Lady Wraye befriends his daughter at a ball and is invited for tea the next day, he catches her trying on gowns and decides to punish her. Right there in the closet, as she is naked as the day she was born.
When they continue to be drawn together, despite their 32-year age difference, they need to make some decisions about if they are willing to risk his daughter's happiness and the court's gossip for a chance at their own.
I thought this was very sexy, it was fun, it had great world building for a book so short. My only real wishes is that we didn't jump time so often in such a short book, and things got resolved very quickly. However, since the next novel is about Devrim's Daughter, I am sure we will get to see this couple more.
I was also a bit confused by how some of the court was set up, but I feel like a reread where I wasn't rushing through to the HEA would help with that.
What a beautiful royal romance. It's full of passion, yearning emotions, and a good old epic plot.
I enjoyed it with a little girl's glee, and I fell in love with Paravel, its tumultuous history and inhabitants, and all the potential love stories it may spawn. Can I live there for a while? 😄
Even if age-gap relationships or spankings are not your favourite cup of tea, the sheer ellicit quality of the romance and the supressed emotions due to secrets will make your heart soar.
Oh, be still, my wilful heart. Ball and gowns, tea and cakes, angry powerful men and smart ladies in distress, ardent passion in clandestine fashion. All these exciting elements blend with a country being restored to its former, broken royal glory and old families frenzied with dangerous gossiping and striking connections at Court.
I absolutely loved the regal atmosphere. Devrim was a stunning combination of ruthless leader and torn father and wounded lover. Wraye was a lovely blend of noble, devoted, and spirited. They clash and combust, and it is so very sensual. Even though the belt scene was a bit ouch to me! I also felt moved by his imprisonment and her dire circumstances, and the relationship they have with his daughter.
There's room for conspiracies, hot times, tender feelings, and a happy ending with wit and heart. I want to read every story set in this world. When is the next one ready? :-D
