providing an honest review after receiving a complementary copy from the author via BookFunnel
did not realise that this was book one in a series, and was disappointed this didn't come to completion. I did not enjoy this book enough to get the other book in the series.
I did not like reading about her bad marriage, if you are that unhappy end the marriage. You should not be starting relationships with people when you are in a relationship even internet ones.
My guess is in the next book you will find out her husband is cheating on her and that will end the marriage and she will be free to take up with her online romance, but just a guess
the whole talking to an unknown person talking about fantasies in a safe private way was interesting but was spoiled by all the talk of her fighting with her husband the story would have been better if they were both single.
Not sure why she gave an online stranger all of her personal details enough for him to be able to locate her.
was disappointed that at the end of the book they had not spoken on the phone or met up in person. That stuff must be in the next books but since they are so short this series would have been better as one book.

This is the first book by Felicity Brandon I've read - and it had to be book one in a continuing series. Sophie is putting up with a dick of a husband and the way he is treating her, I'm thinking he's having an affair. Sophie can't seem to do anything right and he is a condescending dick (putting it nicely). To take her mind off things Sophie goes online and there "meets" Jared who brings her out of her shell and becomes a lifeline. Chatting online is innocent enough and Sophie is caught up in a new friendship with a man who makes her feel worthwhile. But what happens when the chance to meet up is imminent? Will things change or will they realize they each have just what the other is in need of.

I did not realize this book was the 1st of 4 in a series. It is NOT a standalone. Sophie is a depressed, ignored, disgruntled housewife. The relationship between Sophie and her husband has deteriorated to rubble. She finds comfort online speaking to "Carl" Jason about her fantasies and kink desires. They've never met although I can see the next step playing out in the next book. Nothing here was that great to entice me to read the next book...sorry.

Wow, wow, wow.
It was like leaving a trail of crumbs to follow. The storyline is presented, foundations are set, set yourself up for quite a roller coaster of emotions. Do you want more - most definitely.
Seductive, conniving, luscious …… list of words can go on for quite some time.
Most definitely onto next read.
A note for readers, this is degrading/abusive/dominating/possible trigger alerts. Definitely an 18+ read.

I have had this series on my TBR for freaking forever! I finally broke down and read this prequel...I freaking loved it! I almost feel sorry for Sophie! But I am so excited to read the rest of the series and see what happens with her story!
Sophie seems so sweet and innocent... and Jared/Carl is so very dark and evil. I can't wait to read more about them!

Felicity Brandon has definitely a way to create dark atmosphere, enticing indeed and the fact that there is a bit of cheating is such a rarity that it’s even more fascinating. I will definitely continue the dirt road where Jared is leading is little girl 👏

HOLY SH#T! There was so much in this book that I didn't expect, I don't even know where to begin. It's dark, it's hot and it is oh so delicious.
