Lynnwood Thatcher Windsor has lived a lot of lies. Seen a lot of good men go down.

But he will not stand by and watch as the world he’s built from the ground up burns to ashes before his eyes. Even if he has to build an army to combat the problem he sees brewing around him.

One step at a time, he carefully lays out his plan, building layer after careful layer until everything is where he wants it to be.

Every part is impeccably played, his pawns are in the perfect place, and then she barrels into his life, totally scattering every single piece he’s set in motion.

The bad thing is, she doesn’t even realize how badly she’s messed up until she’s roused the beast.

***
The day that Six Ines Broussard met Lynnwood Thatcher Windsor was the worst day of her life.

First, she has a public breakup with a man she’s not even dating. Second, she has to deal with a black-tie event that she’d rather gouge her eyes out than to go to. Third, she then has to sit at a table for hours on end with the one man she despises.

Just wanting a break, she thinks she’ll lose herself for a few hours and do what she loves to do best—spend time by herself and go for a walk in the middle of nowhere, spot some birds, and get a little sun. Only, her day doesn’t go nearly as planned.

She walks right into the middle of hell. And at the center of it? Lynnwood Thatcher. The mayor. The man that she took one glance at on the night of his inauguration and dismissed as boring. A total stick in the mud.

Only, he’s not so boring shirtless, in the middle of nowhere, doing things that are very illegal.

At first, she’s appalled. Then her interest gets piqued. Stuck-up suit is hot! And he has tattoos. Oh, and let’s not forget one hell of a mouth on him!

Then he goes and kidnaps her, and she realizes that nobody is quite as hot as you thought they were when they’re now holding you hostage.

Quotes spoken by or about our 32-year-old heroine (six) that acts like a teenager going through a bad quirky phase:

I wasn’t aware that an Adam’s apple could be such a complete turn-on, but there I was, looking at one and thinking ‘holy shit I could totally slide my vagina against that when he was talking and come.’

Bestie respectfully....
description
Do you wish to suffocate the man.

Holy shit, the mayor was hot underneath those suits!
And the tattoos screamed ‘not stuck up’ like I’d originally thought him to be.

So according to this woman's logic, men who don't have tattoos and wear suits are all stuck up. Why? Because her father doesn't like tattoos and wears suits.

“I’m the mayor, and I’ll kill you if you don’t tell me. And I know a lot more inventive ways than just shooting you in the back of the head,” Lynn growled.
Jesus Christ, I was getting turned on!
The mayor was beating the crap out of someone, and my nipples were pebbled!

Isn't it just so sexy when some hot guy you've met a handful of times is about to kill a man right infront of you!

Okay, it actually is (sometimes, not here though) but all her exclamation points were giving me a nervous tick. I don't think it is physiologically possible to be this excited all the time, calm tf down now.

Then, when his big, muscular body was deposited between my thighs, I froze for an altogether different reason. One that had my vagina pulsing with need.

1) Bitch who was deposited where?🤣🤣🤣 The only thing being deposited right now is the cheque for my therapy after enduring this book😃
2) There are many places where the word "vagina" could be used, an erotic romance is not one of them.

“It was like looking at a fairy princess. One that wasn’t of this world. She said and did things that you’d never, ever expect to come from a normal person’s mouth. I remember this one time that I walked Six home from school. Her mother was outside. Watering the lawn with a garden hose. She just sat there spraying it like one would a sprinkler. When I happened to ask why she didn’t just use a sprinkler, she said that she rather enjoyed watching the water spray.”

Wow....sooo....otherwordly and different.
description

No but really, my brain wasn't equipped to handle the profoundness of this book.

That was weird.
I tried not to be too weird.
Some weird I couldn’t help, but extra weird? I tried to keep that under control.

description
(I should pay Dylan Sprouse at this point because a gif should not be reused so many times)

He was way too young to be self-made. About my age, but definitely a whole lot less mature.

Says the woman with the maturity level of a 13 year old.

The only tongue that had ever been close to my vagina had been a dog that’d gotten too familiar with me when I was in high school and running at a trail. The dog had gotten loose, and he’d immediately shoved his nose up my ass.

Thank you for telling us that story during a god damn sex scene. Girl I pity you.

I was born annoyed.

That beautiful soul searching, gut-wrenching thought came from Lynn's head (H), in case you were wondering. If you think there is anything to add to it, you would be wrong. That is literally all.

How do I know that?

Because right after it came this:

-Lynn’s secret thoughts

Not me googling "I was born annoyed" to see if maybe I could get it on a t-shirt AND EVERY RESULT WAS THIS WHAHAHAHAHA😭

AnyHOW, I'm sorry to anyone who enjoyed this, and I can see A LOT of people did. But also I'm not sorry.

You really have to suspend disbelief while reading this author’s books.
I hate her heroines. They are carbon copies of each other. You’d think that watching a man getting beaten up by none other than “hot asf hero” she would be scared for her life? But nope. She’s getting hot and bothered. This woman was forced to go to her father’s functions because her father threatens her with suicide. She was a very childish woman. I for sure thought she was 18 or something because of the way she acted. But turns out she was 32 and a virgin too! Hero who was very experienced with a secret grown ass son too.
I’d be ok with just reading heroes POV at this point, that is if I bother again reading another book of hers.

To say I've been excited for Lynn getting his own book would be an understatement. This gorgeous man has been popping up like no one's business and I was one of the fans clamoring for his story to be told. And let me tell you... if I thought he was hot before, this book made him even hotter!!

Okay, so Lynn is the undercover bad boy. He's currently the mayor of town, but there is just so much more going on, hiding beneath his elegant suits and perfect hair, stuff I can't even begin to explain. Just know that he is bound and determined to clean up the place and he's not afraid to get blood on his hands. A lot of blood, if necessary.

Six is a woman who is what some would call a free spirit. She doesn't really fit, but that's one of the things that makes her so great. LLV created a character that moved to her own beat, followed her heart, and that organ led her right to Lynn.

These characters couldn't be more different. And yet they fit so well together. I loved their every interaction, the slow build up to their inevitable relationship, the hotness in between, their everything.

My only real hang up was that some parts of the story deserved more time to develop. They were so interesting and were given such a starring role that I felt they should have been fleshed out a bit more.

I'm all agog (and yes, I use this word regularly in real life) to see what this author is going to come up with for all of the characters introduced here. For example, that doctor who let the kid who was terrorizing women die on the operating table... yeah, I'm dying to read his book! I was dying to read his book right after he did all that! Oh Zach... Seriously, I'm excited to read ALL of their books.

If Repeat Offender is anything to go by, this series is going to be outstanding!

I was looking forward to Lynn's story after he was introduced in other books, his character vibes were a scorcher and he lived up to his reputation in his own story.
Older man/younger woman trope..a favorite.A gray haired silver fox that met his match in a lavender haired goth girl....what a couple.
I enjoyed his romance with Six, and the sex scene in the back seat of the SUV was whoa...whoa...whoa!!!
The shocker revalation towards the mid end came as a suprise..did not see that coming.
Looking forward to the rest of the new series by Lani...

Off the bat we get a warning that the timeline won’t match the connection Lynn has with other books. However, it didn’t detract from the impact of the story at all.

I loved reading about about Lynn and Six. Six had all the things I like in a heroine and more so one from LLV where they tend to have a quirkiness to them that makes them a lot more relatable. Lynn was just so darn sexy. He had this grown man vibe and confidence that just hit all the right spots for me. They had great chemistry.

The plot kept my attention and took me on an interesting journey. I devoured it. I am looking forward to more from this series.

“Because, last night, whether you know it or not, you became mine,” he said. He didn’t raise his voice. Didn’t deepen it. Didn’t change anything in the way he spoke. Just a matter-of-fact tone that made my insides shiver in pleasure. “No arguments. No takebacks. No ‘I didn’t know what I was doing.’ You’re mine. End of story.”

OH MY GOD! I have been waiting for Lynn forever, all the way back to Silas's book. This man has been in the shadows, mysterious he has helped in little ways in other books and has drawn you in, made you want to know his secrets and what he is about. Well Lani did not disappoint and has made me so excited for the whole series. I love Lynn and Six they are explosive together. Six is hilarious from her snarky comments, to pulling out a bag of chips at a fancy dinner. Lynn tries to stay away even when Six stumbles upon him doing things that a mayor should not do. But all bets are off as they continue to run in to each other. Lynn is determined to stop the horrible things that are going on throughout the city and surrounding area, he is building a team that will do whatever is needed to make this happen and I can not wait to meet each and every team member. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK!

After reading a couple of this author books I came to conclusion that all of her h are so similar that is crazy. And almost all of them are virgins with quirky personalities while the H are all alpha cavemen and so much more experienced. Also, the romance part happens so quickly without any character development. The only thing that I liked was the suspense part but sadly it was not resolved because is part of the series. I'm not sure if I will continue with the other books.

FINALLY!!!! MY MAN!!!

There is nothing more satisfying then a book completely surpassing every expectation you had.

Repeat Offender brings you a tension filled jaw dropping sexy swoon worthy hilarious read that's so all consuming You forget about reality.

Lynnwood aka Lynn aka Joker aka a few other names.... this man. Sweet baby Jesus he is sin wrapped in the devil himself. I mean if you really think logically and not with your hormones the man is positively terrifying. He can slip into any environment and fit in to his surrounding perfectly moulding himself into what ever part he needs to play. Frightening but also so fucking hot because he fools EVERYONE. Mr mayor sure does get up to some sinful shit and I was IMPRESSED. The man is all kinds of dark, dirty and dangerous with a side of sweet I just could not handle. I had to take a moment to compose myself because he sure does get creative. INALLTHEBESTWAYS.

Six. Ahh if there was ever a woman made for my man it's her. She is positively a delight in the most snarkiest sarcastic witty ways. She is everything opposite to Lynn. She doesn't try to blend in, she doesn't want to fit the mold and if anything would rather not be around people in general. MYKINDOFWOMAN. I like that she was very aware of Lynn and his capabilities and yet did not fear giving him a run for his money. Under her sharp exterior she is so sweet and just wanted someone to want her for her. Despite her insecuties and trust issues she put faith in her man and I love that for her. She had me rocking with her witty comebacks, I adored her no fucks given attitude and admired her strength. What a woman.

They are a whole vibe I swear. Both character had this quirky dynamic because they're both pretty dark and broody personalities which surprisingly worked well together. Their chemistry is absolute fire from the beginning and burns brighter as they continue to skirt around eachother until the inevitable tensions combust. Ohhh sweet Jesus I had to pray for myself reading that scene. Mr mayor sure does know how to utilise the tools around him. But not only is their chemistry palpable through the pages, their connection is completely solid. There's no back and forth bullshit. No childish drama or fillers. They are it for eachother accepting eachothers faults and all and I just loved that. They ground eachother is a way that's so fucking sweet I just couldn't.

As per with Lani, she always brings a whole slew of epic side charters that fill the story to the brim with quirky moorish personalities that leave you wanting. I am so fucking curious about all this fresh meat and their delightful partners that will come with them. I so excited about this darker series with the bad boys. The good guys who do bad things for good reasons. I just have a feeling this series is going to bring some jaw dropping moments of greatness and some real heartache. I love how she built the foundation with this book and gave us just enough to hook us to the idea of these new men.

The plot progresses perfectly giving us as delicious tension filled build up with so much depth. I laughed, swooned, ranted and raved through out their story and felt oh so satisfied by the end.

Did I mention I nearly choked to death on my snickers whilst reading a certain part... no? Well I did. But I have no regrets because that whole epilogue is fucking fantastic. Lani never fails to make me laugh till it hurts, swoon at all the sweet and wish for more because her books are just moorish and I'm a greedy bitch. Her character are both loveable and in part relatable. The plot is well thought out, paced perfectly and unpredictable. It takes you on an epic rollercoaster of emotions and I loved every second of it.

This was one of my most highly anticipated books ever and Lani just got it so perfect I can't even.

If you're a fan of this author then you'll love this just like her other stories, if not more. And if you're new to her then lord I'm jealous because you have an epic back log of stories to catch up on. But this is a wicked one to start on.

Now I need Beckham and Troups book because I need to know more!!.

I can happily say I finished a truly tragic year off with a phenomal story. This is my last book of 2020. What a way to finish.

I'm kind of torn writing this review. I've been in a bit of a book slump and I really expected this to slap me out of it. Because it's Lani Lynn Vale and it's a brand-new series. What else could I ask for? And honestly for the most part it kind of did but there's still a part of my head that's wondering what the weather looks like tomorrow, I need to wash the kids bathers, I think the pool cleaner is due and did I order coffee?

So I love the new storyline. This series is going to be awesome. Everything about the book had me trying to guess if that is something that is going to be expanded on in another story. And every character I was introduced to I loved and wanted more of.

I loved Six and Lynn. They were both incredibly interesting and I can't wait to see more of them as the series progresses. However, like I said I was so distracted so I feel like I didn't connect enough with them. And I know for a fact that I missed out on so much of everything, I think I'm going to have to do a re-read once my head clears.

Lynnwood Thatcher Windsor goes by many names and has his hand in many jobs, his newest one is Mayor. It is a means to an end to get what he wants though which silencing a threat in his town. What he doesn't plan have a plan for is Six Broussard who he meets at an event which she clearly has no interest in being at. Lynn is a jaded man who is feared among many circles but for some reason he doesn't intimidate Six, which intrigues him.

Six only attends events her father guilts her into which is rare but none the less she is at an event when she meets Lynn. Her interest is peaked in the sexy man but she doesn't think she will ever see him again. Six is clearly wrong when Lynn makes his intentions know, but Six is a woman who beats to her own drum and is giving Lynn a run for his money. Lynn plans to win though and will go to all lengths to keep Six by his side.

I have been waiting for this book since Lynn's character was introduced and what a wild ride his story is. Absolutely loved this book, I am ready to reread again. Six is probably my favorite character by this author, she is quirky, a rebel, and her antics have you busting out loud. She is a perfect pairing to Lynn. One of the best books by this author and I am so excited to read more in this series. What a wonderful way to start off the New Year with this gem of a book.

Good but boring. Nothing really happened besides setting up character for the rest of the series.

I did like that the heroine was a little different BUT really hated the fact that she was a 32yr old virgin :-\

If you have followed me for more than a month, you know I ADORE Lani Lynn Vale and Repeat Offender was another hit. Lynn and Six are delightful and disturbed-in a funny way!

Lynn is creating his own posse of sorts-all ex-cons! I'm excited to hear more about this team he has assembled. Six has a horrible father and it was nice to see her come into her own with Lynn's support. I really loved their relationship and how it developed. Six is bold and Lynn is confident. It was a great pairing.

I am excited to see what Lynn has in store for his new MC-what will they be doing and why is their ex-con status required? Vale has set up a really intriguing series with Repeat Offender and I am excited for more.

I love this… Finally we get Lynn’s story… And man I absolutely love him. From when he was first introduced he intrigued me.

Lynn is the Mayor of Kilgore, but there is a reason he became the mayor. And man was it fun to find out what he did in his spare time. And then the cute quirky Six happen to walk right into one of his side gigs.

From the moment Six meets Lynn she thinks he is a stuffy stuck up businessman like her father, but for some reason he intrigues her. And then he sort of kidnaps her when she happens on him in the woods beating up a man. And she gets to find out that there is so much more to the mayor of Kilgore 😊 ♥

I love a new series. And starting this new series off with Lynn’s story was just awesome. He was hot, sexy and man he could pull of a suit like nobody else. He has so many layers to him that you just cant wait to see what he reveals next. And Six was just the right girl for him. I love them together. They were funny, interesting and both had strong personalities that totally balance each other out. I loved their story and I so can’t wait for the next book in this series. I can see that this one is going to be another winner ♥

The story goes differently, then I thought. It doesn't mean that it's bad, but... In the big picture, I was satisfied with the story, but there was some things, that was left me hanging, so to speak.
Like the part where Six was mistaken with another chick, that guy was breaking up with. It was funny, but fun and everything ends there. It doesn't go anywhere. For me it was missed opportunity for something more.
Six was... As some characters mentioned, not normal. Which, btw left me confused. Did they liked her, appreciated her or they saw her as nuisance. Because there was one part, where she overheard them talking, but then with her they were seemed liking her. Myself, I love those unique characters as Six.
Lynn was interesting character, but I'm still left guessing. Mind you, I don't need to know everything about his past, but things was left unanswered. Some thing wasn't needed to be mentioned, because they weren't important or they didn't lead anywhere.
About the villains part. They aren't exactly in your face, if that makes sense. And again, I'm left with questions. But I guess, this is one of those series, that while each book about different couple, but background story is unraveling with each book.
My mind is still trying to work over it all, maybe when it will settle I will add more.

Gemma’s Review

Repeat offender is the first book in this new series by Lani Lynn Vale and really opens the door for a really exciting series. This story had everything that you could want in the start of a new series with it introducing a new set of characters that really had me intrigued. These new characters really made me want to know more about them and their stories. I'm excited to read more about these characters when their stories are released in this tory.

Six was her own character that didn't conform to the expectations that he father had of her or society. I really liked how she was who she was and didn't apologize for it. I loved the way that she did what she wanted despite the way others looked down upon her.

Lynn has been a mystery for a while and I enjoyed being able to read more about him. I really enjoyed Lynn and the way that he constantly showed Six how much he cared for her. He was a complex character that knew how to blend into different situations. I really enjoyed him and hope to read more about him in the series.

This was an enjoyable read of two characters that had a lot of chemistry between them. I really enjoyed them together and found they were perfect. 4 Stars #2OCCGE

Jessica’s Review

Lynn was everything I was hoping he would be. He has been interwoven into this authors writing from the start and I always wanted to see him get a HEA. Six was so much more then I could ask for when it came to his heroine. She was sassy and just the perfect thing that he needed. Their chemistry was off the charts. This book had my favorite dirty scene that this author has ever written. Sooo hot. The plot wasn’t super I depth but I can tell it was setting us up for more to come when it comes to this MC. We meet lots of new characters and some we already know. I can’t wait to see what’s going to go down with this series. 5 stars #2OCCJD

Loved this first book in LLV's new series.

"She was already under my skin. Just the thought of her upstairs, in my shower, smelling of me was doing weird things to my soul."

I loved the premise of the book as Lynnwood Windsor is gathering a covert team of elite people who have broken the law in the name of justice. As Mayor of Kilgore, he's on a mission to clean up the city - by any means necessary. He's a man who walks a fine line - he is feared and revered and has plenty of enemies - and the last thing he needs is an Achilles heel. When he meets Six Broussard, he knows that she could mean something to him. He lets her go but knows that the next time they ever meet again, he intends to claim her.

"I want you to be at my side, and I don't really care what comes at me as long as you're still standing there at the end."

Gah! This story was exciting, intriguing, HOT AF, with some fun banter. I loved Lynn and Six together. He's definitely not the boring suit that she first thought he was - I loved how much he stripped away all her preconceived notions about him and absolutely enthralled her. Six was a free spirt who was full of sass and really didn't care at all what other people thought. I loved her gutsiness and her tartness, but she also had a big soft heart. These two were super sexy together as well as a great personality fit. Loved them! Can't wait for the other books in this series.

I first heard about this series and was so excited to jump on it and that time is finally here! I really enjoyed the first book in this series. This book set up the scene for the following books and I am waiting with bated breath for each and every one of them.

Lynn and Six's chemistry was a joy to read. The banter, the laughs, the love. These two are such a fabulous couple. I am so excited to see where this series will go and I am intrigued by the other men that this MC surrounds. Bring on the next book!

Lani Lynn Vale has started her new Souls Chapels Revenants MC series with a BANG!

This book is a sexy, older man/younger woman romance. Lynnwood Thatcher Windsor is a sexy silver fox, alpha bad boy, who will bring you to your knees. He is sex in a suit and when that suit comes off - hold my kindle while I wipe the drool off my chin......he is tattooed hotness personified! (I think I might have found my new favorite out of all of LLV’s male characters). Lynn meets his match when he stumbles upon Six Ines Broussard. Six is a breath of crazy air and is a hot mess. The chemistry between the sexy man in a suit and the goth chic is off the charts and makes for an incredible read in one sitting romance.

I could not put this book down and am dying to get my hands on the next book in the series! Repeat Offender gets the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

Amazon US / Amazon Intl. / Apple / Nook / Kobo

Six cannot stand attending all the social events her father forces her to attend. But at least this one is being attended by the seriously hot salt and pepper fox, Lynnwood (Lynn), mayor of Kilgore. Unfortunately, she's not the type of girl to attract a hot, suit-wearing guy like him, so leaves without significant interaction with him. It's when she stumbles onto a *ahem* scene featuring Lynn doing what he does in his spare time, that he decides he's going to keep the feisty, sassy Six in his life, even if he has to make his intentions known in a rather down and dirty way!

But given Lynn's real profession, he really shouldn't have anyone of importance in his life. Will he inform Six of this, or will she end up with her little goth heart stomped upon if he keeps things casual as she goes into it thinking he will?

Six has spent her whole life not feeling wanted or loved by anyone, especially her father, the one who's supposed to love her unconditionally. So she enters her thing with Lynn knowing what they have is destined for heartbreak in the end. Too bad for her she's falling hard for the man who has a surprisingly sweet side deep inside his hard, tatted up body. Will he surprise her and stay, unlike everyone else in her life?

Ooooh I love this darker, seriously hot new series! Starting with the mayor's story was the perfect idea - I've been dying to know his backstory since he was first introduced in the SWAT series. He's even better than I imagined - doing dark things for the good of the people, for his town, surrounding himself with men of his equal who did (do) the hard things for the right reasons. Seriously dirty and devious but with an innate goodness easily disguised by the tattoos and muscles. But the real standout for me was Six. She is an absolute gem - sweet, funny, sassy af, with a heart of a gold and an endless amount of love to give. Thank God Lani gave her the perfect man for her, who would love her the way she deserved. After having read and loved this introduction to the Souls Chapel MC, I am now all the more impatient for all the stories of Lynn's new team.

Six Broussard meets Lynnwood Thatcher Windsor after being accosted in a public breakup with a man she’s not dating, a man she’s never met. She is attending a black-tie event and sitting at a table with the one man she despises, her father.

• • •

She is attending her father, the mayor of Dallas’ inauguration, a disreputable mayor. Wearing a corset dress with a deep purple bustier underneath, wearing four-inch sky-high black heels that were also the same shade of purple, heavy makeup with the same glittery shade of purple eyeshadow, deep purple lipstick to match, and purple contacts. Her father liked when she wore normal colours, so she thwarted him by wearing things he found offensive. At least she was wearing the normal eyes rather than the last dinner party he’d forced her to attend, wearing the cat-eyed pupil contacts, causing him to turn red in the face and ask her to leave.

Lynnwood Thatcher Windsor is the mayor of Kilgore and lives a life entrenched in lies. Building an army to combat the crimes around him, one step at a time, he carefully lays out his plan, building layer after careful layer. Every part is impeccably orchestrated, his pawns aligned. He answers to many names. Lynn. Joker. Black Jack. Bonus. Whatever and whomever he needed to be on any given day.

Wanting a break, Six ventures out on a nature walk in the middle of nowhere. Only, her day doesn’t go nearly as planned and she happens upon Lynnwood Thatcher. The mayor. The man that she took one glance at on the night of his inauguration and dismissed as boring. A total stick in the mud. Only, he’s not so boring shirtless, in the middle of nowhere, doing things that are very illegal...unconcerned he kidnaps her.

• • •

He had played many characters from king pin to bookie to FBI consultant. What he had never done before, was dabble in government politics. After witnessing the previous mayor take advantage of his office, one of those being a good friend, and trying to kill his career by using his power and influence to force him into compliance he’d had enough. Upon researching the old mayor, Dave Jackson, he’d found out that he was dirty and twisted. The pervert liked to force women to do things that they didn’t want to do—illegal acts.
The first step of digging out his corruption had commenced—beat him at a race for mayor.

SIX
Twelve months later

The next time she saw Lynnwood Thatcher Windsor, was at a board meeting of all places. Her father forced her to attend because if she didn’t her father would hold up the meeting indefinitely. Once she’d planned to skip a meeting, and found out later that he’d held up that meeting for three hours while they waited for her to arrive. Only, she’d never arrived. She’d been hiking the Grand Canyon at the time. Only after waiting for three hours, did he think to ring her. And when he did ring her, she’d been in the middle of a hike. She’d answered, told him she couldn’t be there and hung up. He’d postponed the meeting until she flew home and held the meeting at the airport in two Lincoln Town Cars.
It was only after the meeting had concluded that she’d learnt that they’d all had to give up their Saturdays, twice, because of her. Lesson learnt.

Slouched in her seat, she contemplates a nap. Her father isn’t due to arrive yet as she’d shown up thirty minutes early to eat a burrito. Having finished five minutes ago, she has twenty-five minutes. Eyeing the table, she pushed back the padded chair and scooted it back, glancing underneath the table. Smirking she left her purse and phone on her chair, crawled underneath the table and stretched out on the carpet, tummy first, pillowing her head onto her arms. She was out within a minute.
I’d always been like that—able to sleep anytime, anywhere. It was something she’d been able to do as a young child.
Car trip to the convenience store? Asleep.
Running to the next town over to go to Target? You guessed it, sleeping like a baby.
It was a great skill.
But, not all that safe since when she slept she lost focus on her surroundings.
Which was why, twenty-three minutes later when she heard her father’s voice, she cracked open an eye.
“Nancy, find my damn daughter”.
I moaned and pushed out my seat while crawling out from underneath of the table. “I’m freakin’ here, Dad. Jesus. It’s not even time yet. I have an alarm set.”
Everyone in the room paused, surprised to see me there.
Everyone but one, that was.
Him.
Lynn.
The mayor.
“He knew I was down there, there was no doubt about it.
“Do you have any manners whatsoever?” Dad grumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“If I don’t, it’s because you didn’t instill them in me,” I growled as I stood up, turned, and planted my ass in my seat. “Kind of hard to teach your kid something when you’d rather send them to boarding school than deal with them.”

Lynn recruits men imprisoned to join his team, the men were led in, with handcuffs, getting them transferred to a facility of his choice. There were five men.
Patrick ‘Trick’ Wheat, thirty-five, ex-military.
Patrick was sent to prison for purposefully beating a man to death that’d tried to rape a young girl under his protection.
Hunt McJimpsey—the hacker. Hunt was thirty-four years old and was in prison because he was caught dabbling in peoples’ money and redistributing it how he saw fit.
Absinthe Solomon was thirty-eight, dishonourably discharged from the Army, and the man responsible for nearly beating his fellow drill sergeant to death for terrorising, nearly raping, and physically beating a recruit under his command. A recruit that Sin happened to be in love with—but hadn’t acted on.
Zach Caruso. He was thirty-two, and a former doctor. He’d been sent to prison for killing a patient. That patient who’d just so happened to be the reason his girlfriend at the time had been put into a coma. The kid had hit her with his truck while she’d been out running and had left her for dead.
Finally, Trouper ‘Troup’ Aoki. Trouper I had the least information on. Thirty-five. He was, by my guess, ex-FBI. He was also a fighter pilot, could fly the hell out of any machine you put him in, and had the world’s worst attitude.
He needs a team he can trust. One that’s experienced. One that has the knowledge and won’t be affected when given kill orders. They need to cover their tracks.
He walked over to a box on the wall that had the things that they would need upon release.
They will be known as the Souls Chapel Revenants Motorcycle Club. with cuts and must wear them upon release, one prisoner per week. They are being financially set up. They must each find a house in the area if they don’t already have one, set up affairs, and move themselves to the area. Motorcycles are a must for this cover to work. If not interested, they shan’t be released. They can have revenge if they haven’t already gotten it.

He has businesses for them to choose from, he owns a strip club, a bar, a private investigation firm short a couple of private investigators. He has suggestions where they might best fit in, if they choose to work for him. Hunt and then Zach. “You two, I have need of your services full-time. Both jobs will appear to be legit, you’ll get a tax return, you just won’t be doing the actual job that the IRS thinks that you do.”

Six’s father used his office for political and personal gain whilst committing criminal offences.

EPILOGUE
Eight years later

“On a scale of one to ten, how mad do you think Daddy will be?” Adele, our seven-year-old, asked.
“What did you do?” I asked.
“I think I better just talk to him.”
Grinning at my mischievous daughter’s words, I gestured toward Lynn’s office.
Eight years ago, they started their life together, months later they were surprised with twins. They’d had eighteen people attend their wedding, six of those being the men that had found their way into their lives after exiting prison.
Two of those, Laric (Lynn’s son) and Bruno (his assistant and her former childhood best friend) had stood up with Lynn. Wyett had stood up with Six.
There had been the random men here and there.
A scary man named Silas Mackenzie that Adele just adored every time he visited. A couple of FBI agents that showed up periodically in the middle of the night to talk privately.

We absolutely loved this story right from the beginning to end and everything in between. Six OMG! Six had me laughing starting chapter 2 and had me laughing out loud constantly to the bitter end.

I loved Six and that fact she remained true to herself and was not going to conform to what others wanted her to be. Smart, sexy, spicy, and a bit of a spitfire. The scene at the dinner table at her father's function had us laughing out loud every time we thought about that scene throughout the remainder of the story.

Lynn was easy to fall in love with he was smart, sexy, raw, dominant, hard, dangerous, and constantly wore a sign around his neck danger beware. Talk about a swoon-worthy character!" I am totally in love!"

Overall we loved the story it had amazing characters, mystery, suspense, and all about laying the foundation for a brand-new series and introducing brand-new characters getting some skinny on them but, one thing they all have in common is to take down the bad guys. The story had tons of hot and sexy scenes Ms. Vale is known for. Can you say fanning? Lol Since this is a brand-new year we are starting off with Six and Lynn being on our list for top favorite characters for 2021.
