Holy moly, y'all. This book is hotttt. 🔥🔥🔥 I'm a huge fan of BDSM across the spectrum—there are few kinks I can't at least see the beauty behind, and I'm never one to yuck another's yum—and this book delivers with delicious variety and well-crafted honesty. It's clear King either did their research or lives the lifestyle, because as a member of the BDSM community, I can attest they write with love and truth and safety holding up even the kinkiest of her scenes.

This was a novella-length story, and most of those who know me and/or my reviews know how I feel about novellas. I think it's difficult to fit what needs said into so few words and, more often than not, plot and character suffer because of that. In this instance, I would say King did a pretty good job of structuring the story so the length wasn't a huge issue. Yes, I would've loved to see this as a full-length novel where we got to know the characters better and truly saw the love develop between them, but that's a purely personal preference. I know a lot of people who prefer bite-sized stories with more surface than depth to them, and if you're one of those people, this book would do the deed beautifully. Because it still manages to graze beneath the shallow and find some heart.

I loved Birch almost to a fault. He's the delightful submissive in this tale, and a delight he is indeed. (Although, if you ask those who know me best, they'll tell you I often tend to fall for the subs in a story because they're *cough* definitely more my type.) However, Ivo and Griffin equally caught my attention. They each had some moments I couldn't comprehend, but overall, they were well-crafted Dominants and I appreciate that so, so much. Far too often D/s relationships are portrayed in fiction by people who want to get the kink but don't. They haven't lived it and they don't do their research, so BDSM scenes often become dangerous things. But King portrays safety, sanity, and across-the-board consensuality with plenty of check-ins, safeword usage, and aftercare.

**UPDATE**
Earlier this year...I had the review below...now I retract...so disappointing that the author had to plagiarize. They were becoming one of the authors I so enjoyed and was excited on getting stories from...all lies...so be aware fellow readers.

**Audiobook Review**

What can I say....this was Beautiful:)...Birch...I loved him...so sweet, nice, sensual and naughty. The guys that shared him Griff and Ivo...two Doms that are happily married but needed something more to make them perfect...That perfection was Birch...This gave me so many emotions while I was listening and the narrator was the best. He did a marvelous job. This was so much more than BDSM with a little romance thrown in...this was a whole lotta feeling...I almost felt like I was witnessing an opera of sorts it was so well done. Loved it!

I just love this series. I finished the books and have been working my way through the audios as they come out and I was lucky enough to get an early peak. The audios just bring the tenderness to these books to life. Gavin McAllister was new to me as a narrator before the Delphic Agency books and he cadence and tone just fit the mood of these characters perfectly.
I started this book at 6:30am and then unfortunately had to break for work. I had to go right back and finish it after. I love the variety of kink Romilly King brings to the table and I can’t wait for the rest of them to come out in audio.

This book was very promising but the outcome just wasn't up to my expectations. Most of the interactions of the Doms with the Sub were too cold, too perfect, too clinical without heat. The only moments where I could feel the emotions and connection were when the DOMs let down their inner barriers. It was explosive and the relevant trigger should be mentioned: be aware, when the DOMs argue, they throw punches.

I feel that the author just left out too much information regarding the background of the existing relationship between the DOMs. How could two persons so different with such different expectations manage to stay together for so long? The Sub acts as a glue preventing them to fall apart, but this does not feel right, and it is not as a good start to a balanced triad relationship.

PAID TO BE SHARED is the third book in the Delphic Agency series but it can be read as a standalone as I have. I don't feel my enjoyment of the story was impacted in any way by not reading the first two.

Ivo and Griffin are two Doms with incompatible kinks who have somehow managed to make their marriage work. I say somehow because the minute Birch is on the scene, all cracks and fissures in their relationship come to the fore. Birch is the experienced submissive who isn't afraid to experiment with them and sees for himself what they are missing. He tries to help bring them together but, obviously, this is too much for one person.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story but would have liked more information about the characters. For example, Ivo comes across as almost cold and calculating. I know part of it is his job but at the very beginning, he lets Griffin take the lead due to his lack of social skills. This seems very different from who he really is, as he appears later on. The same with Griffin. He is decisive and confident at the start and yet, as the story progresses, he devolves into a ball of complicated unsure emotion.

Saying that though, this was a story I read in one sitting and was completely engrossed in. I will definitely be paying a second or third visit to the Delphic Agency! Definitely recommended by me.

I was intrigued by the story. A married couple looking for a sub in their relationship. The BDSM scenes were steamy and kinky. Just an FYI about that. Griffin and Ivo, a married couple, both dom wanted a sub in their sexual relationship visited the Delphic Agency for it.
Birch was the sub who cared about the couple from the beginning. I liked the the character of Birch. He was honest, loyal and kind to the couple. I didn’t care for Griffin or Ivo. They were too many fights between the couple that I didn’t understand nor was it really resolved. Griffin was all over the place emotionally and I didn’t understand him. I also felt that the first half of the book was a bit dull but it did pick up after 20%. Overall, it was a quick and good read.

I received this book from BookSirens in exchange for my honest review. Thank you for my free copy.

This book was exactly what I needed. Exactly what I was told to expect - BDSM, D/s, kink, steamy scenes. And how awesome this book was! And OMG the medical kink!!!!!!!!

The story, the characters, the BDSM scenes, the emotions... everything was perfectly written. Loved the 3 POV, Birch, Ivo, Griffin - loved all three of them, and loved that they had different kinks. Griffin and Ivo's marriage and love was so good, loved reading about them, and after Birch got into the scene - just holy hellllll. Birch was the perfect sub and I loved all the BDSM scenes and all the lovely little touches too. It was super sweet and hot.

This story is the perfect example for a short and HOT perfection. There are books longer then this but those are lack of the realness. Many author tends to over write their stories, but you only have to do one thing to satisfy the readers/me, only the bare important and essential things. You can add drama, just like in this book, but you have to solve them quick and good. I mean the way the author handled the drama between Ivo&Griffin&Birch was so cool and amazing. That dancing scene was pure erotica and emotions, I almost cried over it.

Loved the slow build of the BDSM. And the best: the orgasm control - I mean the lack of it! I tend to get bored with orgasm control, every book and every bdsm has it in, so it was so freshening to not to have it, it was much better this way.

So yeah, this book was perfect for me. Perfect BDSM scenes with real emotions. LOVED readig this book. Now I have to read the other books by this author too... ;)

Highly recommend if you're into BDSM, D/s, sharing. Loooooved this book.

I can’t leave these Delphic Agency characters. This is already the third one, so fast!
As I read each book, it hooks a finger in me and doesn’t let go. This book and the previous ones are so intriguing to read about. A make-believe future and the people in it.
It’s not even about the romance surrounding the main MCs but more on the relationship and insight into the D/s dynamic that is prominent in each book following a different couple.
It flows effortlessly from the author to the reader. You’re placed there, she tells the story through the pages and you listen.
Paid to be shared as the blurb shows is an MMM romance, but it's not all about the sex, its more than that. Without spoiling anything, let me just say that It shows the relationship between the two married Doms Griffin and Ivo, their kinks, and the relationship they had individually and as a unit with Birch, their sub from Delphic. From the beginning to the end of the story, there was chemistry, tenderness, eventually understanding and a sense of completeness. It ends with an Hea and a promise of more in the following books.
There were minor typos but it doesn’t take anything away from the story. Moving on to Cash and Tay’s story next.

This book was a new to me author, and starting out with a third in the series doesn’t always work, even with stand alone, but this book was the exception.

I found the assumption that the reader knew the world it was written within took a while to get used to, but once I was up to speed I thoroughly enjoyed the writing. The story is set in a relatable far future with the Delphic Agency available to those who can afford its services.

The story leads with a paid submissive being considered for a very challenging contract. A married pair of Doms who worked as a couple, but weren’t meeting each others needs completely. The relationship between the married men was a warm and charming one, where each man had made sacrifices to stay in a committed relationship, and the dynamic was interesting and charming, but the relationship could have been so much more. Enter Birch. The sweetest sub at Delphic, and a dancer ready to take on the challenge.

Birch accepts the contract and meets the Doms at their home and here starts an up and down twisting tale with a delightfully satisfying HEA, eventually!

The writing was crisp and enjoyable, the character led story was charming with teasing glimpses into perhaps the next book in the series? All round, I loved the book and will definitely look out for more work by this author.

Paid to be Shared is the third book in the Delphic Agency series. It's a story filled with compromise, experiment, love and understanding. I think this is my favourite one from the series. It follows Griffin and Ivo who tries to save their marriage by hiring Birch to fulfill both of their wishes. It's really steamy and is quite graphic, so keep in mind that.
.
First, I loved the fact that Ivo and Griffin tries to save their marriage and not just find someone who can help their Dom self. Their love for each other is so much that they are willing to try anything to keep that to themselves. That was the only reason I picked this book up and it didn't fail to impress me. I am not new to the kink world, but oh boy the normalcy discussed in this book with respect to the lifestyle was a little different and took some time for me to adjust. In a good way though. I really liked the dynamic between the three of them. It shouldn't work, but it does and that made me love the Characters even more.
.
Coming to the storyline and Character development, I think I loved Birch the most. He was unapologetically himself and knew what he wanted. Plus, watching his interactions with Ivo was just fire. I wish we had spent much more time with Ivo because I felt he tried to not want anything because of Griffin. I kinda sorta hated Griffin for that but I understand his pov as well. I really loved that ending though. Even though things happened and Birch had to leave, Ivo and Griffin remained strong and that last performance was just heartwarming !! Overall, this book really surprised me in ways I didn't expect and I really loved the Characters and the story as well !

Paid to Be Shared is the third book in the Delphic Agency series, but it's the first book I've read of the series. I absolutely loved it! I quickly read the fourth and fifth books immediately following and now need to get the first and second books. This is a fantastic series if you love BDSM stories.

Griffin and Ivo are Does who come to the agency in need of a sub to help with their marriage. They are in love with each other, but they have kinks that the other can't satisfy and want a sub who can satisfy both. Birch is the perfect sub for them. He's experienced and when he reads their file, his heart goes out to them and he wants to help them. Cashel "Cash" Gregory is Director of Organizational Psychology and responsible for placing Birch in their care. He takes his job very seriously and has reservations at first but allows it. When the three men meet, they have an immediate connection. Birch sees exactly what both men need, not only what they need in their kinks, but he can see what he needs to do to bring them closer together and make them understand each other better. The problem is that both Doms are stubborn and refuse to see it for themselves. This does bring about the drama or issue in the story and we get to see it clearly because the author gives us the POV from all three men, which I loved. There is lots of steaming hot sex but nothing gratuitous. It's clear the author knows a lot about BDSM and much is explained in a way that isn't preachy or like a text book. It's an emotional story between loving men who happen to have kinks they like to satisfy. Very well written and highly recommended.

In this third book of the Delphic Agency series, the author continues to tell us about a dystopian world where sex work is legal and regulated where she focuses on BDSM "couples," or in this case, a "triad." I'm having a hard time explaining my feelings about this story. For one thing, Ivo and Griffen are a married couple with vastly different personalities and kinks, and I don't understand how their relationship even came into being, let alone held together for so long. Then, they contract with Birch, one of the happiest, most easily submissive characters I've ever read about, and he became the stabilizer for the two of them. One person keeping two others from imploding just doesn't seem like a good foundation for a healthy triad. Also, most of the scenes described came across as cold and detached aside from one or two of them as well, which made me as a reader feel detached from the characters; scenes that are meant to be intense and sexual shouldn't make me go "meh." Then, since the author didn't show enough of the gentler scenes, the dinners and basic kneeling, that we were told happened, I couldn't see their triad structure working long term even though they were all supposedly in love with each other at the end of the book. Anyway, I liked Birch as a secondary character in the previous book and as a main character in this one, but I didn't like the other two guys that much, especially when their Dominant natures clashed into a full-on fight in front of Birch who was in sub space, sending him into a full sub drop, which had never happened to Birch before. That entire situation was almost glossed over and easily forgiven rather than truly dealt with. So, with all of these issues along with the fact that the horrible grammar prevalent in the first book of the series was back in this one, I wasn't impressed with this book at all; however, since I'm interested in the character who was named as one of the protagonists in the next book, I'll continue reading the series.

Okay so I'm coming back to drop it a star because I'm still having a reaction. This may be a spoiler but the book features domestic violence, once off page and referred to, the other on page.
I can't remember if there is trigger warnings for it or not, but if my partner had punched me in the face I wouldn't be with them. Each are as bad as the other with Griffin instigating a physical fight the second time it happens. The thing is, aside from being blacklisted from Delphic, nothing happens, there are no consequences! I'd be concerned about my safety long term. It leaves a bitter taste

Just me

Pretty sure it's just me but I didn't feel and sort of love or connection between the 3. I'm not even sure why the couple were married if I'm honest. The medical stuff was fine but a lot of it was clinical and the dance was over the top to me. It ended ubruptly

This book turned out to be quite a beautiful love story. I felt that the main characters did what they felt they had to do in order to save their marriage. What surprised me was how the addition of a submissive could change the depth and intensity of an established relationship. The introduction of the different kinks was very well explained and brought realism to the scenes. I felt the deep emotions that all three characters were feeling and it was very satisfying to see how they resolved their individual and joined issues. Romilly King is a new to me author and I will definitely be looking for more by this author. This was a quick super steamy read for me. I love any type of BDSM/kink story line and this one delivered in spades. Birch is a sub who is contracted to scene with two Doms, Ivo and Griffin. Ivo and Griffin are husbands who love each other but need more. The love and emotions that pour off the pages was incredible. I loved this story so much, perfection!!

I really love this series so far.
As for this book I love a lot about it. The characters are great and complex and so very real because of that. My favorite characters is definitely Birch, gosh that beautiful little darling is so cute and lovable and gorgeous and you can only love him. I love that he is very confident and very sure in what he wants and can take. I also like the dynamic between all three men. Sometimes I got a little annoyed at Griffin because it felt he overreacted and I think he really had a problem with feeling lower then Ivo but wanting to suppress him.
That’s also the reason I can’t give this 5 stars because I think that’s a theme that they should have talked about more, especially in the end.
As for the end I found it much too fast but still liked it.
I also really liked that whole thing about dancing. It gave them so much more chemistry.
Overall I really loved this and can imagine myself rereading this one day.

I received this as an ARC for free for review; promised to give my honest opinion

At first, I really didn't think that the title captured the essence of the book. Birch, the sub, is hired by a dom couple, Ivo and Griffin, through The Delphic Agency. The agency sets up contracts between doms and subs. Some are just for a weekend, while others like this one, are for a few months.

Let's just say the doms have some very different tastes when it comes to subs. One enjoys medical play while the other one is the quintessential dom.

The doms are somewhat happily married but face it, having two doms in a relationship without a sub is asking for trouble. Doms want to lead a sub emotionally and sexually. Two strong personalities will end up clashing and destroying their relationship without a sub. This is what led the couple to the agency in the first place. Their marriage was getting rocky and they needed a sub as almost an escape valve for the tension.

The story explores the relationship between the doms and the sub. Ivo and Griffin readily accept Birch into their household and their lives. As with any story with a happily ever after ending, people fall in love. But we can't get the ending without a little bit of angst.

Griffin has a temper and unfortunately Birch gets to experience it first hand. Griffin becomes jealous of Ivo's relationship with Birch. By this time, both doms are in love with Birch, who probably is in love with both of them. Griffin's behavior scares Birch to the point where he cancels the contract. As Birch leaves, Griffin shouts out that he and Ivo love Birch. Let's say that Birch believes in actions more than words.

We get our happily ever after Griffin and Ivo wear down the head of the agency with their pleas to see Birch again, if only for closure. Birch decides that he also wants closure. Birch thought that he had destroyed the marriage when in fact he made it stronger. Everyone professes their love for each other and we get our happily ever after.

I wish the book had been longer. I prefer longer books. I wish we had more character development. Why is Griffin so angry all the time? Why does Ivo come across as icy? Why is Birch so eager to please these two? I want to find out what their motivation is in the book. However, the book was fine without it.

I recommend the book to people who enjoy a good romantic BDSM tale. I'm curious to see what happens with the three of them. Hope the author provides.

Ivo and Griffin are married and go to the Delphic Agency to look for a sub for them both; however, they want to keep their scenes with the submissive separate from each other. While the Agency is unsure of this setup, they present it to a sub that fits with Ivo and Griffin's profiles, Birch, who readily accepts the contract.

Let me preface my review by saying that I have not read the first two books, which may have been detrimental to my reading of this one. While I had no problems with picking up the world building and everything going on, I did feel like I was missing things that may have made this a better story for me. I also suspect that the third person point of view just didn't work for me personally. I felt like I was only getting a very limited understanding of what was going on in their heads, which became critical when things went very wrong.

Birch was amazing. He was a true submissive and open to whatever his Dom wanted, which was good since Griffin and Ivo are very different. He was the star of this story for me. Ivo was amazingly patient, calculating, and into medical kink. Griffin was interested more in bondage and sensation play. I loved how Birch was happy to be with Griffin and Ivo and wasn't afraid of seeing what they were missing. Griffin really seemed to know what he wanted at the beginning, but it was clear that things were changing and he didn't voice any of his thoughts or concerns to his husband Ivo. Instead, he contrives a situation to get what he wants, but then proceeds to go back to the status quo. His behavior was annoying and the limited insight we get is that he's confused by his what he wants, but will think on it later. I grew frustrated with the clear lack of communication between Ivo and Griffin as time goes on. When things go south in a big way, I really felt bad for Birch, but not his Doms. I was glad that Ivo and Griffin had the chance to make amends to Birch, but I wish they would have had to work more for Birch's forgiveness.

I am intrigued by the setup of this world, and I may go back and read the earlier books when I get a chance.

If you want to get lost in a book then I highly recommend an audiobook and the Delphic Agency books by Romilly King read by Gavin McAllister are no exception. I have listened to so many audiobooks and I know how the wrong narrator can tend to take you out of the headspace which is always a fear of mine. I have enjoyed Gavin's narration of the Delphic Agency books so far and loved Paid to be Shared. Definitely pick up this sweet little sub's tale to read and listen to because you won't regret it! I loved all the growly Dom talk between Griffin and Birch or Ivo and Birch! (ok I would of liked a bit more of all three together, but... that's me). Listening to sweet Birch navigate this very fraught relationship had me listening/reading from start to finish in one sitting (not unusual for me, but still...). I highly recommend this book and this series and you might as well go for everything Romilly King puts out since that's what I have done. She is one of the (ok I admit it, several) authors that I have many titles of in my library, but more than just a collection, I actually READ them (two separate hobbies collecting vs. reading books -my bad). If you like a book with heart and heat and a bit of bite to your kink with a dose of some psychology then you will want to read Paid to be Shared (and the rest of the Delphic series if you like familiar faces popping up).

This sub could win everyone over
Delphic Agency had two new client with some very special kinks and Dr. Gregory "Cash" wasn't sure they needed just one person Maybe two subs would be better. But Griffin and Ivo who were a married couple who wanted a sub to help them with their individual kinks, wasn't interested in two sub's and if the agency couldnt help them they would go else where. So it was agreed just one sub to keep them both happy. And if honest the sub that Cash had in mind would be very excited to have this contract.
Birch was one happy young man and a true Submissive. He was at his happiest when he made his Dom's happy so the idea of pleasing two Dom's was getting him very excited. But he knew that their kinks would be a challenge at times. But could he be man enough to please them both???
It took me a while to get into this story and if honest I wasn't sure bout Ivo. But the more I read the more I liked. And I found I just couldnt put this book down. Their story was addictive and I loved that Griffins and Ivo relationship was a true marriage that no man could break apart.
A great read

Seriously loved this story. Couldn't get enough of these characters.

Both Griffin and Ivo were such a great couple considering they were both Doms. Their love for one another was lovely to read.

It would have been nice to read more of Ivo though. He seemed to be a deep thinker and we didn't really get to learn much about him as I feel we got to read from Griffin. A couple of times Griffin came across very OTT.

Birch was a total sweetheart and I enjoyed reading about him and to see him with both Ivo and Griffin seperately was amazing but them together was seriously hot. They were all very sensual which I loved.

Cash was an interesting addition and I loved how caring he was. The Epilogue had me very untrigued and was expecting something huge to come out but didn't so I need to read the next book so badly.

This is my first book by this author and I have to say Romilly blew my mind. The writing was effortless to read and fell into the story straight away. I loved how the scenes were portrayed and sexy AF. Such a beautiful and loving story.

I received an advance copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Ivo and Griffin, both Doms, have been married for a few years - and although they are in a very happy marriage they both miss something special that the other just cannot provide. Submission. So in stead of carrying on the way they have been they decide to contract a sub from the Delphic Agency. Enters Birch. The sweetest most adorable sub I have ever read. Like for reals. I fell in love with him - and honestly - he isn't even my type.

This was a really adorable book. So adorable I am so going to have to get my hands on the first two in the series.

The characters were really excellently written. Ivo and Griffin, though really strong and sexy Doms they both are quite flawed in their thinking and don't always do the right thing which makes for a really nice and realistic read. There is even a bit of kink shaming between the two of them until they get to know their own partners a little bit better.
Birch is this really selfless, cute and adorable sub that effortlessly falls into the relationship with his two Doms exactly like he was made for it and it really made my heart warm.
The relationship development was fun to read and I was glued to the book from start to finish.

This story's blurb intrigued me, but I was a little disappointed by the execution. The BDSM scenes were so promising, full of delightful kinks and steamy build-up, but I couldn't wrap my head around the characters. I didn't understand what motivated Griffin's impulsive anger, and Ivo was so quiet that I could barely get a read on him at all. Birch was the only one that I really felt connected to, and honestly if he hadn't been in the book I would probably have stopped reading. I didn't hate the storyline, it just felt like the big blowup came from out of nowhere, in the last 20% of a story that, up until that point, was a string of BDSM scenes without any big plot development. I also didn't find the resolution to this sudden conflict satisfying--I wish there had been a few more chapters so I could see how their relationship ended up working out. This story is apparently volume 3 of a series, and I haven't read the other books, so maybe everything would make more sense if I had the complete picture.

Paid to be Shared is the third book in the Delphic Agency series. It centers around a sort of escort agency but way more high tech. The escorts are called venditores and the clients are called Emptores. Birch, a former dancer, is offered a contract by a married couple, Ivo and Griffin. What starts as a way to save their marriage ends up showing what they were missing. They start playing separately then find out they enjoy playing as a triad.

None of the characters stood out all that much to me sadly. They were good if not a little more formal than I thought would be needed.

I made the mistake of reading this as my first book in the series. While I was not missing anything I was a bit confused. The world they live in is pretty high tech and some of the language confused me. Overall, it was a good book, though.

This is a remarkable & emotional MM romance. The plot was well-written & very tantalizing with some intense scenes. The characters are well-depicted with realistic flaws & are quite strong-willed individuals with a good connection between them.
It is about: two married Doms (Griffen & Ivo) are completely in love with each other but they are not exactly compatible in their sexual relationship & decide in desperation to approach a Delphic Agency who in turn introduces them to a male Sub (Birch) & he becomes an intrical part of their lives.
There is: drama, anguish, desperation, contracts, domination/submission, BDSM, medical kink, steamy scenes, subspace, aftercare, playfulness, realization, emotional attachments, misunderstanding, jealousy, confrontations, physical conflict, regrets, compromises & forgiveness. I found the ending to be a bit abrupt but overall I enjoyed reading it.

Wow

So many different dynamics and pulls of the story. I love birch. He is amazing and just this ray of sunshine. Ivo and griffin each bring something different to the table. Griffin is what most would consider the mainstream Dom while Ivo is a purist. More sadist and invested in his medical play due to his intense love of his profession. They each do things for birch but together bring about a different dynamic that makes things more complete for both birch and their marriage. Glad they got a HEA. I understand delphics harsh protective measures but I think considering they psychologically help both doms and subs that interrupted scenes can result in bad effects regardless. Both grif and ivo were at fault. Grif for thinking he was only in charge of their three way dynamic and ivo for interrupting.
