In this third installment in Diane Kelly's House-Flipping Mystery series, Whitney and her cousin Buck are excited about their latest project - turning an old, run-down motel into condos. Unfortunately, their excitement is short-lived when they discover a squatter and a dead body on the property.

A fun read, with memorable characters, and a well-crafted mystery. Whitney is a down-to-earth and likable protagonist, and I care about her and the people in her life. I will definitely be back for anoth

It was barely sunup on a day in the middle of May when I was wakened by the sensation of my fluffy, buff-colored cat headbutting my cheek with his furry forehead.

This is the third book in the House-Flipper series and they get better with each book. Whitney and Buck along with a silent partner have bought an abandoned 1960s motel . Their first surprise is discovering a squatter in one of the rooms. They decide the Navy Veteran would be great as an extra set of hands and hire him. The following da

I had not read any books by this author before. I will definitely be checking out the previous books in this series!

This was a fun read! I hate to say this but my favorite characters were Sawdust and Cleo. They were hilarious and brought a new perspective to the story. The chapters "written" by Sawdust were inventive and it was interesting to get a cat's point of view!

The story itself was slightly different from other cozies I've read. First of all, it took place in Nashville. I have never been

A good mix of mystery, humor and relationships all topped off with a dose of Nashville flavor. Finding two people in the motel that cousins Whitney and Buck were going to flip turned out to be a good news, bad news situation. It also could be the thing that ruins their business.

The comfortable relationship between the protagonist and her detective boyfriend was a nice change and Sawdust the cat is a fun addition to the story. Thanks to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an ARC. The opinions e

Murder With a View is the 3rd instalment in the House Flipper Mysteries series by Diane Kelly. This is first book I have read in the series, and it can be read as a standalone. I have since purchased the previous ones so I can be all caught up in time for book 4 when they flip an abandoned church.

I liked Whitney and her cat Sawdust, it would give you both their thoughts from chapter to chapter which was kind of neat. I also enjoyed the setting of Nashville, Tennessee. Being avid watcher of house

Whitney and her cousin/business partner, Buck, are hoping to "flip" a mid-century motel into trendy condos however, what they discover is a murdered up and coming country western star and a killer who has them in their sights!

I'm a fan of Diane Kelly's books and I am partial to the House Flipper Mysteries. The mystery drew me in from the first page and kept me guessing "whodunit". I enjoyed the Nashville setting and the descriptions of the neighborhoods and entertainment districts. The character

Murder with a View by Diane Kelly is the 3rd A House-Flipper Mystery. This engaging cozy mystery can be read on its own for those who are new to the series. Diane Kelly writes entertaining cozy mysteries. I thought the book was well-written with developed characters and steady pacing. I just love the chapters from Sawdust’s point-of-view. His methods for getting Whitney’s attention are hilarious. It is adorable that Cleo, the kitten, is Sawdust’s best friend. They are so cute together. There is ...more

I think this might have been the best book in the series so far. What made it even better for me might be that I read it right after I read the second book, so things were super fresh in my mind. I loved the idea of them renovating an old motel into a building of condo units with really cool retro colors. The best thing was that Whitney and Buck were having such success at this, they were a little more equipped for a loan with a good but unlikely partner.

I wasn't sure what to make of Jimmy at f

They hire a squatter named Jimmy that they find living there to help. The next day another squatter is found in an adjoining room. Only this one is dead—and dead famous. It’s Beckett Morgan who is a Country singer with a mega-hit record. Why is he in the rundown motel and who killed him? Thanks to the publisher, via Netgalley, for an advance e-galley for honest review.

While it's the third book, I felt that the series really hit its stride with this one. Nashville really became a character here, and the setting really sang (ha, pun not intended). My favorite parts of cozies are getting to really know a community and the characters over a series, and this delivered that really well. It seemed to me that the chapters from the cat's perspective were minimal (I'd be fine with this el

This is an entertaining book that fans of the genre will enjoy. The who-done-it murder kept me guessing until the end. I enjoyed the budding relationship between Whitney and Collin and am looking forward to more of them in future books. I also enjoyed the descriptions of Nashville - especially the bridge as crossing that bridge has kicked my butt more than one, lol.

To me, the book seemed to lag and move slowly in its middle third. If I wasn't such a fan of the author, I might have been tempted t

If you geek cats and house flipping, you'll adore this cozy set in Nashville. The publisher's blurb is pretty good, but the quality of the story is much better. While there is a hint of romance, it certainly is not blatant enough to take anything away from the mystery but serves as a plot device to enhance the deduction process. The cat seems to specialize in finding dead bodies and the detective is a good guy. A good cozy full of twists and red herrings.

Whitney works part-time for a property manager so has connections in the building and repair world. Her uncle is a carpenter so she's learned how to fix and build things over the years. She and her cousin, Buck, want to buy fixer-uppers, repair them and then flip them for a profit.

When a rundown motel comes on the market, Whitney and Buck snatch it up with the plan to renovate it and sell as condos. It's in a great area in Nashville so there shouldn't be any problem. Except a young popular coun

I have a tendency to jump in to cozy mystery series in the middle, and this is no exception. Murder With a View is the third book in the House-Flipper mysteries, but the first one i've read. And it's ADORABLE.

The most notable thing about this book (and, I assume, the series as a whole) is the characters. The characters are lovely and hilarious and you can't help but cheer for them every step of the way. Sawdust the cat is a delight. Although I wasn't ALWAYS on board with the short chapters from

This is a new to me series but I am glad I found it.
I enjoyed the characters and the whodunit was interesting.
I am not usually a fan of house flippers books and shows but this one entertained me.
I could have done without the chapters from the cat’s POV. I found it a needless interruption to the flow of the story.
I will definitely pick up the previous books in the series and I look forward to its continuation.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
