Review: Story: This story is a very short and spicy read. I know that the official term is short and sweet, but I meant what I said. There are a few questions I have that were more referenced than really explained. I also was curious on the grammar of some things. There are names that I felt should have been capitalized that weren't. That could have been done on purpose for all I know. I thought this was a very creative read. Normally with shorter novels, I say that I want and crave more. I won't say that this one. The length of this book was perfect. I feel like if it were any longer it could risk dragging on. I could be wrong on that. Characters: At first, Gypsy kind of confused me. The name not the person. I kept expecting it to be a girl. That's just things that I'm used to. I didn't really feel a connection with any of the characters. I think I could have. Maybe one day I'll go back and read the book again and see what happens. Critiques: None that I can think of really. Final Thoughts: This was definitely a short and spice packed story. It glosses over a dom sub relationship and a potential for another one. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. Especially if they are as short as this one. I recommend this book for those who love books with more of a spice level and arranged marriage type things. There is a bit of suspense but it doesn't drag on.
Started off well and i had high hopes but quickly tanked hard!
Ok I don't get some of the rave reviews for this book tbh.
Firstly it's not a biker book. Yes he's in a biker mc but its barely in the book, a side note.
The plot is the most ridiculously stupid plot I've ever read. I mean the whole he can't show his face otherwise he has to marry velean, its so stupid. They'd have just gotten rid of her.
Then there's the virtual insta love and corny cringe dialogue sex talk. Its not hot its cringe worthy. He's supposedly a dominant. I didn't see much evidence of it.
This is one of those classic new style books that tries to be a bit of too many tropes and thus doesn't get any right.
Its not biker Its not bdsm Its not gypsy Its not Irish Its not mafia
Its tbh weird.
The plot is rushed, infact im wondering if its one of those books thats been written by ai that I keep hearing about because it is soulless. There's no nuance, subtlety, nounderstanding of the tropes especially biker n bdsm. Its so far from being accurate of those ifestyles its a joke.
The ending with the king n queen was just so fake n silly sounding.
Infact it was terrible, but I usually only give 1 stars to dnf books.
One thing Gypsy didn’t expect that his father would arrange a marriage, he knew he had to get married as progression to becoming the ruler of the gypsies, disagreeing strongly, even though his father owes the man and wants him to marry the youngest daughter. Mariquinn had had enough of Razvan and wants him out of her life even if it means walking away from her family, she never expected the solution her father would offer. Gypsy knew he was going to have problems with the woman blackmailing him that he’d been seeing, but the chemistry with Mariquinn he was determined not to lose. Gypsy knew it was going to be difficult with his blackmailing ex, Razvan determined to have Mariquinn, the secrets, the gypsies, and the Gypsy Kings. With everything against them will they be able to become the perfect King and Queen.
First off i want to start by saying How much i loved the cover for this book. Secondly this is the first book I’ve read from this author and I can honestly say i love her work. This world isn’t for everyone but i totally love the MC world. The way she tells stories draws you in and makes you feel like your living in the book. Gypsy is one of my favorite characters. He is different than others but yet the way he interacts with his bride to be makes me shudder and want a guy like him. Mariquinn is one of my favorite female characters because she is strong and has a good head on her shoulders. Roux made my heart pound so many times with this story that i had to do a double take at some parts. If you were to ask me what part was my favorite I’d have to say the whole book.
Overall, I really enjoyed this entire series. These are short, only about 100 pages each, so a quick read. That could be a very good or very irritating thing depending on your situation. For me, it was a minor annoyance.
Pros: The story is pretty great. There's romance, steam, a little intrigue and suspense.
Con: I understand this is an indie author, but an editor would be helpful throughout the series. There are places where the story gets very choppy, or it repeats itself, or gets ahead of itself. Some chapters end suddenly. Again, not major. I rated the entire series 4/5. It's really good.
One other thing. Roux, if you see this, Fort Bragg is not in California. It's in North Carolina. Something to consider since it pops up in most of the books. :)
I really didn't get on with this at all. It is one of the very few books I have not finished. The way the scenes flitted from one person to the next was incredibly confusing. The character names were hard to get your head around and the characters themselves all seemed to have multiple personalities. Add in the third person narrative and I did not find anything good about this book at all I'm afraid.
Wow this was amazing. I loved Gypsy and Mariquinn’s story. I need more of these two. It was really good. He’s a leader to an MC club and she’s a Gypsy and an Aerial Baller8 a for the annual festival. Both of their father’s want them to get married. And the. There are the obstacles they have to go through to be together. Roux Cantrell did a great job on this book. Oh and this is the first book to the series.
“Gypsy” by Roux Cantrell is the first book in the series and my first time reading from this Author. This is the story of Nicolea Petrovic (Gypsy) and Mariquinn Bagrov. A quick read that grabbed me from the start. Full of action, intrigue, family values and traditions, big bikers and a side of love- this book has it all. Oh and let’s not forget the seduction and steamy bits! I look forward to reading the next book in this series. ~Angie❤️
I had such a hard time finishing this book. The flow was just not well executed. I think the plot had potential and could have been further developed. But it just had too many holes and unanswered questions, like the author just went with whatever popped into her head at any given moment....evidenced by how much she jumped around. And there is a whole series of these. I think that for some, these may be entertaining, but not for me.
Ok this my first time reading books from this author. This was intense story loved Gypsy and Mariquinn the chemistry between both are very steamy hot 🔥. If you haven't read this book I recommend you do it's sexy, funny at times, and keeps you engaged I'm loving it so far I'm on to the next book. Roux Cantrell I'm looking forward to reading your next book thank you.
I hate to say it but I didn’t finish this book. I don’t know how to explain it other than to say the story was very stilted and had an unnatural flow to include the unexpected change from the male’s point of view to the female’s. It was just hard to read. I made it to about the 50% mark before I gave up.
This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I can honestly say I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to more. This is the story of Nicolea Petrovic (Gypsy) and Mariquinn Bagrov. A quick read that grabbed me from the start. Full of action, intrigue, family values and traditions, big bikers and a side of love- this book has it all.
This is my first book by Roux Cantrell, but it will not be my last. I loved this story and can't wait to follow the next book. Roux takes us on a journey with the soon to be king of the gypsies, as well as prez of the mc club he created. Can he find love with his betrothed without her seeing his face? Ahhhh. Just grab this whole series and binge read like I'm about to do!! Loved it!
Loved it! This story was a hot, action packed short read that kept me enthralled and turning the pages. Gypsy and Mariquinn are a perfect match to be gypsy king and queen. Another great read by Roux Cantrell!
Gypsy is a short, hot read that will leave you wanting more. Amazing characters, action-packed and did I say hot. It grabbed me from the beginning and I was not disappointed. I can't wait for more in this series!
If you're a fan of any M.C. I would highly recommend "Gypsy." I loved how passionate that all the characters are; especially the "bad guys " . Phenomenal job Ms. Cantrell
I’m looking forward to this series. I’m hoping they get longer bc I was really wanting to read more about this group, but it’s a good start. Not your everyday MC book yet I really enjoyed it. I want to know what happened to Valean & Razvan. I’m ready to dive into the next book!
Absolutely Brilliant story of the Gypsy King and his parents plan for an arranged marriage for him. With a few twists along the way Gypsy and Mariquinn fight for their desire to be together. All secrets exposed! Loved reading this book very hard to put down.
wow this story line is super sexy and the author knows how to drag you into the storyline. I can not wait to read the rest of this series, I would recommend this to everyone
