Maybe there are more popular, more detailed game design books but this is the first one I've read in the topic and for that it was great. I actually planned to start some others first but this one caught my eye much more. The journal-like format made this very easy to read and the chapters were never overwhelming. The examples, the illustrations and the various interviews really helped in understanding everything.
