My 2.5 year old daughter found this book so scary we didn't get past the first page. Something about the way the elves are drawn is creepy.

This is a beautiful "ABC of Elves", featuring fanciful, alphabetical, illustrations of flowers, fruits, animals, and of course, elves. Readers and pre-readers will have fun learning their alphabet while searching and finding the alphabetical cues on each page.

CIP Summary
"Each letter of the alphabet is represented by a busy elf, engaged in an alphabetically appropriate activity and surrounded by objects beginning with the same letter."

Elfabet is a cute little fairy alphabet book. Each letter has a page dedicated to it and only has things on that page that begin with that letter and has a short rhyme. For example. the letter A has a picture of an acorn, an apple, and ant and an apple blossom and a little sprite. And in the border of the picture there is an aardvark, an alligator, and alpine asters. The rhyme describes the elf’s action and for A is as follows, A is for Acorn Elf always acrobatic. Fun for all ages.
Alliteration is a favorite word scheme of mine and this ABC title has it for every letter. For example "D is for Dandelion Elf daintily dancing." I do like the illustrations that include many flowers and creatures from nature, however the faces of the elves are unpleasant to me. Interesting that the title contains three pages of a key in abc order listing various items to be found in the illustrations.
Cute alphabet book centered around elves and their daily activities, such as "K is for Kite Elf keenly kicking." Also all the animals in the borders are related the letter represented on the page. I loved the elf illustrations, with the very detailed flowers, insects and animals. Recommended for ages 4-8.
