Cassandra and her friends flee the city they were in as the warriors seek to eradicate the growing rebellion. She takes the group to her home village in search of her parents after the Vading mentions they are still alive. But the search of her home village leads to a dead end, though there was a rumor that her parents were taken to the capitol. So, again they traverse the desert and hide in the capitol itself, and continue their search for Cassandra’s parents and the missing plans, and try to g ...more

Eppla is a fascinating country, very different from our own world. That was obvious in the first part of this series. In the second, Nikon and Cassandra delve even deeper into the heart and into the troubles of Eppla. They make friends and enemies.
Some secrets are revealed, while others emerge...
The writing style of this book is beautiful, but not very fast paced. A lot of talking and thinking, waiting and hiding. But also some bloody fights and dangerous adventures.
And another cliffhanger...

It is an undeniable fact that I loved the first book a lot. "Sands of Deceit" is such a great continuation of the first book. I think I liked this one a bit more than the first. I don't what's up with me and I like the sequels more. I was so hooked on the story and I didn't expect that things would take such a turn. I was so surprised. That ending though was so good; I cannot wait for the next book! Overall, "Sands of Eppla" is a great book series if you haven't read it yet! ...more

The second book in Falor's 'Sands of Eppla' series sees Cassandra, Nikon and Tewy desperately trying to evade the warriors sent to find them. They meet up with a number of different people, much to their surprise with some of them, and do a lot of hiding away courtesy of Nikon's contacts.

One of our heroes' goals is successful, and I'm not telling you which one it is, but there's also a cracker of a revelation at the end of the book. I certainly didn't see that one coming! Because of that, I'm st

I was so happy to be able to read this sequel directly after book one and to find out more about the adventures of our heroes. Like the first book we have a great cover, a good plot and so many great action scenes. We see new characters and some great developments in matter of personality.
I was absolutely thrilled when some of Nikon's secrets came out but the cliffhanger at the end left me wanting so much more.

This is a story not to be missed!
We all know or see stories of falling in love, but if they only way you fall in love is at first sight, what happens if you’re blind?
And what of the magic in the sands and the water everyone needs to live by?
I love how Cassandra and Nikon’s stories are progressing and cannot wait for book there!

This next installment does answer some pertinent questions - what secrets are Cass's friends keeping, what secrets is Nikon keeping - as well as advancing the plot forward. The pacing can be slow at times until you get to the big moments, such as the final encounter with the Sphinx! ...more
