This intriguing collection of Regency romantic tales kept me going over the weekend. Each unique story took me on a trip back in time and away from the troubles our world is facing at present. My favourite book was “Her Absent Duke” by Arietta Richmond, probably because I have read more of her stories than I have of the other authors. “Her Absent Duke” is a delightful, second chance Regency tale, which grabs your interest from the very beginning and takes you on a roller coaster ride through the ...more

There is nothing better than a collection of stories by some of the best writers in historical romance!

What if I loved you by Cora Lee
One of my favorite tropes, friends to lovers. Jonas and Nora had met years ago and had formed a friendship. They often met for lunch and confided in each other. But now, Jonas was being pressured by his employer to get married if he hoped to advance himself in the company. Nora's brother was to wed soon and she felt she needed to move forward in her life and make

This is a lovely collection of novellas that is sure to delight. Not only are they diverse stories, but they are all well written and can act as an introduction to new authors. Some will tug at your heartstrings, some will make you smile, and others will make you just shake your head. Because they are novellas, you can get a complete story in a short amount of time, and still have others to look forward too. It is a very enjoyable collection.

Near-Perfect Regency Box Set

Regency romance is my ultimate favorite sub-subgenre of romance. This collection, fortunately, is one of the better ones that I've seen. I had an inkling this might be the case when I saw that some of my favorite Regency authors contributed: Regina Jeffers, Summer Hanford, and Cora Lee. As expected, these ladies did not disappoint. I particularly enjoyed their stories, as I always do. But what made this collection a particular delight is that the other authors who wer

Her absent duke - Arietta Richmond
A regency that takes us from first childhood meeting up through the years. Through pains and joys and many differing times.

The courtship of lord blackhurst - Regina Jeffers
An enjoyable incognito romance. Good characters with expressive times together.

I really enjoyed this book. I was surprised at some revelations. Great characters and circumstances.

Leaping lizards! This immensely talented, impressive and imaginative group of authors lays this baby with 100% on point realism from the start, with all the shenanigans, chaos and uh ohs aplenty, spinning this thrilling debacle, keeping you riveted and frozen to your seat, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. A swirling vortex chocked-full of daunting mishaps and baffling circumstances, catapults those churning emotions into play front and center, propelling thi

An intriguing and beautifully written group of books.
When Ms. Lee offered this book I was thrilled because there is not just her but some other outstanding authors also in the collection. I loved Ms. Lee’s book “What I love about you” Two friends make a pact and after some time they followed through with it. This was a sweet tale with some interesting secrets too. It is a quick read great for a lunch break read and so much fun to read Jonas and Nora were great characters. But there was also a p

This was a mixture of short story and novella length Regencies romances. There were stories about lords and ladies, solicitors, doctors, veterinarians, former maids, and opera singers. The first two stories were arranged betrothals and the dramas and lies that kept they apart. Several of the stories the hero withheld the truth and had to convince the heroine to trust him again. Grace's Story, a longer one, was about rescuing kidnapped women and going undercover. Even though Grace was stubborn, h ...more

This is a delightful collection of romances written by a group of very talented authors with a diverse set of stories. Some authors I have read before and some are new to me. I had the opportunity to read my favorite genre and experience a variety of writing styles. I am glad I picked this one up because I know have a few new authors to follow! Each one did a fantastic job with providing vivid descriptions and interesting plots. The storylines were all artfully crafted with well defined characte ...more

A beautiful summer romance anthology!

These seven historical romances, by some of my favorite romance authors, provided hours of enjoyable reading. It is hard to say which ones were my favorites because there was such a good variety of plots with enchanting couples that all found their HEA.

I enjoyed the humor, intrigue, machinations, and love scenes entwined in descriptive writing that gave life to the scenes and characters. There were also previews of other novels by each author to whet my inte

Secrets to find love. These stories all involve secrets. Secrets kept by men hiding the fact they are lords of society in order to find women to marry who love them for themselves and not their status in society. And women who have secrets also, sometimes about the nature of their birth, who don’t think they can ever find a gentleman to marry them. They stories are sweet, funny, and some involve mysteries. I have read all of the books in this anthology of sweet Regency romances, each of which ultimately reveals a secret and all of them coming to a happy conclusion. Seven books, some witty and others more serious, give one something to pick up and read in an evening, leaving one feeling good. I received a copy of this anthology as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

An enjoyable collection of regency stories. The Courtship of Lord Blackhurst by Regina Jeffers is what brought this anthology to my attention. Five stars! It was definitely my favorite story. And now I have other authors worth exploring further. My only disappointment was one story leaves you hanging. Each story is unique. A fun collection.

Summer fluff.

A little bit of something for every one in this regency summer sampler.
I must say, I didn’t particularly care for Her Absent Duke, though.

My standout was Cora Lee’s What If so Loved You.

I gave only three stars because most stories were cliffhangers. The stories were usually of four stars quality. I didn't read the previews since I was irritated with the incomplete books.

Regency Summer

Here I’ve read a few books by different authors and enjoyed them all. Some I wondered if the man or woman would get together. Of course it all worked for the best.

Arietta Richmond has been a compulsive reader and writer all her life. Whilst her reading has covered an enormous range of topics, history has always fascinated her, and historical novels have been amongst her favourite reading.

She has written a wide range of work, from business articles and other non-fiction works (published under a pen name) but fiction has always been a major part of her life.
