We jumped right back into action in this book, yes, time has passed, we left off with Shea on her quest for the vaults and her fiance on a quest to capture her after a year in order to ‘woo’ the Pirate Captain and end their engagement.

The world is hell bent on delaying Shea’s search for the vaults and therefore the chase & wedding are delayed as well.

Book 2 of this series is as good as the first book! We learn that Shea’s lineage is not just elf, but she is actually a daughter of Poseidon! I fell in love with series & it’s characters last year & book two just made me love it even more. I mean, pirates, elves, fae, royalty, gods, sea monsters, sword fights & heaps of sex positivity, in a variety of forms - what more could you possibly want? It genuinely blows my mind that Sophia self-published this series because it absolutely deserves to be on the big screen. The Veiled Descendants kept me on my toes, threw lots of surprises my way & I adored learning more about this magical world ...more

This lost all of its momentum

I’m not sure what the goal of this installment was. The introduction of Beck immediately set off love triangle alarms but there are constant weak arguments that it’s truly polyamorous but it’s obviously not?? If it was truly polyamorous all three would marry. As it is written he is a third wheel and taints Shea beyond recognition because how can she hold onto a person and keep them from finding someone who can love him completely in a way she simply can’t?
