2.5/5 – Libro viejito
Otro libro que tenía en mi lista de: Libros por leer, desde hace mucho .(Quiero bajar esta lista, un check mas).
Es un libro de viajes en el tiempo: lo podríamos considerar histórico (Fantasía).
Aunque en general el topic: viajes en el tiempo me gusta; aquí no me atrapó como me hubiese gustado.
Jamás conecte con los protagonistas (y sinceramente tampoco me intereso demasiado su historia).
A Ramsay (nuestro protagonista) se le aparece Jane (la protagonista) como fantasma desde el futuro, y es transportada a la regencia cuando se tocan pero en cuanto amanece regresa a la época en que pertenece. Al investigar su historia en el futuro ella se entera que él y su prometida desaparecen misteriosamente; por lo que tratara de evitar que esto ocurra.
Durante el desarrollo se van dando cuenta que el mejor amigo de él y su prometida están compinchados, al darse cuenta rompe el compromiso además se ha dado cuenta que siente algo por Jane. Aunque tratan de vivir una relación así (solamente en las noches), cuando aceptan finamente sus sentimientos y se dan cuenta que no quieren separarse, “mágicamente” ella no volverá a regresar al futuro quedándose juntos.
Como tampoco esperaba mucho tampoco fue una gran decepción.

The premise: In the present day, Jane Leighton has checked into a B&B in Bath, escaping a series of bad relationships, the most recent being a married stalker. This B&B is the former home of one Ramsay Chadwick who disappeared along with his fiancée in the year 1812. His ghost is said to haunt the master bedroom, but Jane finds that it's not so much a haunting, but a portal through time. When the "ghost" reaches out to touch her one night, she materializes into his world.
Miscellaneous notes: While not perfect, I did enjoy this book. It's hard for me to believe that Ramsay could get over the fact that Jane has had three lovers in the past. Also, it's hard for me to believe that Jane would fall for this 1812 man (after all, they did not exactly believe in women's rights back then). But I enjoyed following Jane's desperate attempts to save Ramsay and his bride-to-be Lydia. I also loved hating Lydia (the lying, conniving bitch) as much as Jane did.

finally... i read a happy ending love story!!!!
Baca buku ini kayak lagi nonton film bergenre romantis kesukaan gw. ga terlalu serius, ga perlu menghabiskan banyak emosi.... just enjoy it....
ceritanya hampir sama ma filmnya sandra bullock, apa ya judulnya?
tentang hubungan 2 orang yang terpisah 200 tahun, Ramsay dan Jane..
dengan segala pernak perniknya yang menurut gw ga penting... dan rasanya ga da pelajaran yang bisa diambil dari cerita ini, kecuali bahwa Love is the air.... hehehehehe
Lumayan untuk sekedar refresh my brain.....
Ngomong2 ini ada fersi terjemahan bahasa indonesianya ga ya????

Truly a fun read. Anyone who has read many regency romances, tend to think about how they would react in such situations. With this book, you really get the feel of a modern woman's approach to regency events. Jane, though not your classic heroine, is a relate-able character and is able to say some of the things that I often say in my head to regency characters. Chadwick is also a fun character. His feelings and reactions are very real. I love the conversations that these two have as well and the mystery of figuring out what happens to Chadwick in the past. Good read.

April 12, 2011This was a quick read and I liked it. I did find it a little farfetched to believe that a Regency man would be tolerant of a modern woman with a shady past, however, as well as the non Regency era dialogue. Suspending that disbelief, it was a cute story.
For the record, I am also getting tired of Regency book covers with headless characters on them.
