What in the Wattpad did I just read
When I see a novella that's friends to lovers I'm always on board but the quick changing POVs, instalove (they've been best friends since 6th grade but haven't seen each other in over a year and she just got out of an engagement so there weren't any prior feelings), and meh steam made me glad I didn't waste more than an hour on reading.

Laney and Austin have been best friend forever. Having his best friend home is just what Austin needs. Or maybe not, seeing as he has been having feelings for his friend for a while, but didn't want to loose her friendship. And maybe deciding to have a friends with benefits is not really the way to go either, or is it?
This was a quick hot dirty sexy read and just what I needed to break the 'reading ice', lol... I loved the friendship that Austin and Laney had and I think their feelings for each other just made it even better and hotter, lol

This was my first read by this author, and from the premise alone I was hooked! A plus sized woman who lands her hot best friend whom she's always had feelings for -- that's my catnip! Plus sized (read, normal) women need to be included more in romances, and not only that, but shouldnt just take scraps from fuckboys who like to degrade women. All women are powerful and deserve love, and it shouldn't be physical appearance that we, or anyone, is judged on.
That being said, as much as I wanted to be invested in this book, I just felt like there was something missing. Maybe it was how rushed it was, or the Insta love aspect? I'm not sure, but I just couldn't connect with these characters as much as I would have liked to.
This was still an enjoyable read, though!

The book was quite unexpected for me. It was a surprisingly warming good story of a best friend turned lover. Hope Ford managed to describe vividly the emotional change between MCs with some solid ground of background despite how little the flashback of their history.
The book was heavy on the relationship instead of steaminess and I thought it was more soulful compared to some of her previous books; not that I didn't like her steamy books. But it was a nice change of pace from Hope Ford.

Sweet and light

This is my first book by Hope Ford and in a general sense, I would compare her writing and story style to Lucy Darling or Alexa Riley. The authors who tend towards the more insta-love type of story.
I enjoyed this book. It’s well written and you are quickly engaged with the characters and their interactions. I liked both our main characters and rooted for them to take that step to change their relationship.
I really wavered between giving this book 3 stars of 4. As I said, I liked the writing style, I enjoy a good insta-love story, and this was a sweet and light example of such.
I just felt that we could have delved so much deeper into the emotions of our characters and the angst that they must have been feeling over the changing of their life-long relationship. I suppose I wanted to see them both suffer a bit more - to feel the worry, the joy and the chemistry of a new relationship, even if they’ve known each other forever.
And while I’ve constantly likened this book to others, I did feel this was perhaps less sexy than similar books in that category. Oh there was sex, sure, but it didn’t give me that filthy feeling that I love when I read it. I’m not deducting stars based on heat level, but I felt it was worth noting.
I might have been a little grumpy with this review but I did enjoy this book and this story. It’s fairly short, probably taking little over an hour to read, and you could easily read this in one sitting. The writing is good, the characters are fun and I enjoyed them on their way to their happily ever after. I will definitely pick up other books by Hope Ford in the future.

Great book!!!!
I want to be childish and say....Laney and Austin sitting in a tree. lol. This was a really good book. Friends from childhood until college separated them but they stayed in touch until she met Keith who tried to limit their contact. She gets engaged to Keith until she caught him with another woman. Of course, it was her fault she drove him to cheat. Some men just never take responsibility for their actions. She moved back home and Austin realizes how much he cares for her. Read how what happens to the two of them. It's good. Written by Cindy :)

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.
Austin and Laney have been friends since sixth grade, they make a pack not to date one another. Laney comes home after she found her fiancée cheating on her in their own home. Laney doesn't tell Austin she's home at first, she's been gone for almost a year. Austin is out on a date when Laney tells him she's home. So Austin asks her to come met him so that they can talk. Laney goes to met Austin at the bar and he tries to leave his date, but as soon as his date sees Laney she doesn't want to leave. Laney doesn't want to talk to Austin about what happened so she tells him she'll talk to him tomorrow so that he can finish his date. When Laney tries to leave Austin doesn't let her, then his date tries to give him a hand job, so Laney does leave. The next day when Austin comes to Laney's parent's home her dad is working on his truck. Austin helps Laney's father then he invites him to stay for breakfast. While Austin is talking to Laney he finds out she doesn't have a job yet, the school isn't hiring teachers right now. So Austin offers Laney a job working for him at his garage, taking care of customers and booking appointments. Laney shows up to work for Austin the following day, but when she cashes out she finds out she's short, so she replaces the money. Austin comes into work on his motorcycle and when they leave he offers Laney a ride. When Laney is working one of the customers tries to flirt with her, but Austin isn't having it her interferes. Laney gets mad at Austin but then he kisses her. Laney leaves and goes home, then she sends a message to Austin that she'll see him on Monday hoping he won't bother her over the weekend. Austin makes several drive by Laney's parent's home, but never finds her there. Austin finds out that Laney's at the bar, so he goes and sits with her. Austin asks if they can move to a booth so that they can talk, and he asks her if he can date her. Laney knows that Austin is a player, so she doesn't think he's serious. 5 Bestie Stars!!! Quick, dirty fun!! I loved every page!
Laney and Austin have been best friends forever, really. And after leaving town to be with her fiance', she's now back in town after finding out her fiance' was cheating on her. Looking start fresh in her old town, Austin is excited. While they have been friends forever, neither knew the feelings that they had bubbling under the surface, until they meet up again. Deciding that they don't want to ruin their friendship, they decide friends with benefits is the way to go, but can that really work?
This book was a quick, dirty read, but it was so fun!! After reading a dark book before this one, this was just what I needed. It was sweet in all the right places and dirty in all the others! I loved the build up of the relationship between Laney and Austin, and let me tell you, Laney has some good willpower because I know I couldn't have resisted Austin... LOL

She still can’t figure out what to tell her best friend, Austin, about what happened. So she just texted him that she was home. He knew something was wrong and insisted on seeing her, even right in the middle of his date with Blair. So she went to the bar to talk with him and let him see she was okay. When Blair got obnoxious, she told him she would see him tomorrow and left.
Austin was a mechanic who owned his own garage which he took over when his father retired. When he found that Laney needed a job, he offered to let her work in the office at his garage until she found what she wanted to do. Although he doesn’t want to be her rebound relationship, Austin already knows that he wants more than friendship now. Something is different about Laney and he wants to explore that. Laney also is aware that she wants more, but Austin isn’t the settle-down kind of guy. As a compromise, they wonder if a friends with benefits situation would work? Or would they be risking their friendship if it didn’t?
This was such a good story about that special close friendship two people have that finally begins to become an awareness of what might be if they can trust their growing feelings. The characters were wonderful, so in tune with each other and putting the other first always. But will they recognize that they have both matured to being ready for something more? Will they take a chance on reaching out for love?

A short and sweet introduction to Hope Ford, a new to me author. I love a best friend to lovers story and this was a good one.
Friends since they were little, Austin has never before had feelings for Laney, other than those of protection and friendship. When Laney comes home after a relationship disaster, Austin starts to see his best friend in a new light.
Laney has been attracted to Austin since she started developing hormones, but never acting on it, she left to go to school away from him so she could get over her inconvenient crush. When she finds her boyfriend in a compromising position, she heads back home to her family and Austin to regroup. However, when she finally sees Austin again after years apart, the attraction is strong, only this time, he seems to be looking at her differently.
When Austin finally tells her of his feelings, Laney is convinced he can’t settle down, so agrees to a ‘friends with benefits’ deal of their own so she can be in charge and walk away first, however Austin is all in and although he lets Laney lead, he’s not letting her get away.
I enjoyed this story, and both main characters were well written, there were elements of humour from Laney’s parents and some angst as Austin is casually with someone when Laney returns. This is the bit I didn’t like as Austin was warning his friends away but not getting rid of his ‘friend with benefits’ the second Laney got back.

Can this bad boy best friend provide that she has always been the one for him
I have really grown to love Hope Ford's writing and in Bad Boy Best Friend she did not disappoint. Yep her books are shorter/novella length but she has away of crafting a story and characters that so there is depth, fun, charm, a bit of drama and a lot of hot and steamy sexy chemistry. In this best friends to lovers story Austin has his work cut out for him with Laney. He may be ready to completely change the rules, actually throw them out the window doing 100 MPH, but she is not on board with that plan. After all Austin has been a "no commitments" man with women and she is more the "settle down with the picket fence" type. When he realizes that he wants the more with her he is going to have to work to get there and show Laney that he really does want the forever future with her, after all it has always been them together.

When you have a hot friend like Austin....things are definitely bound to get hotter!
This is my first time reading a story from this author, and I can tell you....it will not be my last! This book was a short read, and it had me swooning for bad boy Austin. Austin is a mechanic in a small town, and his best friend is Laney. Laney has been in a seriously relationship with someone over the years, and has distance herself from Austin. This made for a great surprise, when Laney breaks off her relationship with her current boyfriend and she moves back to town with her parents.
When Austin sees Laney for the very first time in months.....HEAVEN OPENED UP THEIR DOORS! Austin was catching intense feelings for his bestfriend Laney, and not in a sisterly way. This made for a great plot! Austin and Laney was the perfect couple to get to know throughout this book. This book had heat and made you want to fall in love with your bestfriend. Great story here and highly recommended! 5 stars all the way!

Laney moved back home after she found her fiance having sex with another woman. Shouldn't she be more upset? But, when she gets home she remembers why she left to attend a college so far from home. Her best friend who she had fallen in love with.
Austin is excited that his best friend is back in town and that she's no longer engaged. He never liked the guy. Only he just realized he doesn't want her with any other guy. When did he fall in love with his best friend?
I loved this book, but I hated when it ended. I could have a lot more Laney and Austin. Who doesn't love a sexy man on a motorcycle? Hope Ford transitioned them from best friends to lovers seamlessly. Their insecurities about messing up their relationship. Austin and his protective jealousy. I loved Laney's dad.
From the beginning you could feel the chemistry between Laney and Austin. Even his date could feel it. The characters are wonderful and their story is sweet and hot. Looking forward to reading more from Hope Ford.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Laney moved back home after she found her fiance having sex with another woman. Shouldn't she be more upset? But, when she gets home she remembers why she left to attend a college so far from home. Her best friend who she had fallen in love with.

Austin and Laney had been best friends for many years and Laney had just returned home after she finished college and had just broken up with her fiancé. Austin was a mechanic who had taken over his father’s garage when he retired and he had a reputation as a bad boy ladies man. When he found out Laney couldn’t get a teaching job he offered her a temporary job in the office at his garage. Austin realizes he feels more than friendship for Laney but doesn’t want to just be a rebound. Laney is also feeling more than just friendship when she spends more time with Austin. Will the 2 best friends become friends with benefits or much more than that?
I loved this cute short story with two best friends becoming much more than just friends and give it 4.5 stars. The story was well written and I especially loved the 2 epilogues.

I liked this friends to lovers story a lot. It was very entertaining and enjoyable especially since the feelings seemed like a surprise to Austin. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Laney was sweet but in denial about how she felt or rather trying not to feel the way she felt. I understood where she was coming from, but I wonder if she had talked to Austin before if things would have been different. Austin was a player and didn't want a commitment, but that wasn't the case with Laney. Austin was all-in with his feelings for Laney as soon as he recognized them and then had to hold back so that he didn't scare Laney away. Basically communication was key and they both sucked at it until they stopped hiding from themselves and each other. I loved Laney and Austin's happy ever after and I recommend reading this book.

Laney has come home after catching her ex fiancé cheating on her. She knows she should let her best friend, Austin, know. But she afraid of what he’ll say and her feelings for him. She finally calls him and he asks her to meet up with him. He is on a date with his current flavor, that’s the part I really didn’t like. Laney has always had feelings for him but he just saw her a friend. He is portrayed as a manwhore who doesn’t do relationships.
He ditches the girlfriend because she’s getting too clingy and starts to see Laney in a whole new light. Laney decides the only was she can experience Austin is to do a friends with benefits arrangement. Things are going ok, then an acquaintance hits on Laney and says some nasty things about her and her ex comes back to win her back. Austin pounds on the rude guy and thankfully Laney sends the cheating ex packing. She decides to end the benefits part of their arrangement and just be friends. Austin doesn’t want anything to end, he has realized he loves her. Epilogue few months out with Austin asking her dad for her hand. I have to assume the dad doesn’t know he’s a manwhore, just a rough around the edges bad boy. Second epilogue years later with one child and Laney wanting another.

First things first; I love the cover of this book!
This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Austin and Laney have been best friends for years. When Laney goes through a break up, she moves back home. Austin is happy that his best friend is home and it isn’t long until he is realising his feelings for her. Will Laney give Austin a chance at being more than friends?
The chemistry between Austin and Laney is clear to see and I liked them as best friends and as a couple. I liked that Austin was willing to go after the woman he loved.
I really disliked Blair. I cannot stand a clingy woman. I wanted to tell her to get a grip and move on!

I could not get enough of these two... both have always had feelings for the other but scared to ruin the friendship and tried to hide their feelings. Both would have relationships with others but neither would open up enough for other relationships to work out. These two were always ment to be together.
