This book was a present from my mom for my 16th birthday. Unfortunately it was one of the worst books I've ever read. I guess it was meant to be quite philosophical with Daniel the dolphin (!) searching for the perfect wave but I just didn't get it. Or maybe I got and it simply didn't satisfy me. This thinking, talking dolphin just seemed so ridiculous to me, the way he talked and the simple style the book was written in. I don't get how this turned out to be such a huge success.

A book about following your dreams - think, easy, but so powerful. A must!

Favourite quotes (only in slovene):

You just get a strong feeling in your heart? It is uncontrollable, passionate and ubiquitous? It is the reason why you can’t sleep at night? You feel there is something greater and bigger? Then you have to read this book; it will stay in your mind!

Like the “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint Exupery it is written in a simple language. Sergio Bambaren tells us in his book a story how simply life really is and shows how wonderful life can be if we follow our dreams!

i read this book twice. Some people say that it is similar to "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" by Bach, Richard. Yes, you are right, because both of this book are about the dreams. But you must know that Sergio Bambaren wrote this book inspired of his life ,not from Bach. This book is really awakens the dreamer within us.

I think its a Lovely book. language is very simple and plain. but the message conveyed is very very deep. And the method used to convey the message is awesome! I think I liked it better than Johnathan Livingston Seagull which is not as delightful and appealing to the reader as this one.

Just much too shallow. Might be suited for very young Readers. The story is unimaginative and might as well be about a beetle in a field or a hippo in a river. The language is as simple as the would-be philosophical, rather esoteric insights. I was utterly annoyed.

Coming in the form of a birthday gift, I knew this had to be very good: this precious little pearl I didn't even know existed has just changed my life.
I read the inspiring tale of Daniel's adventure as something I needed in order to remember how to dream.
And in the end Bambarén's tender words left am indelible mark in my soul: with few effective sentences, the man indeed manages to silp under your skin and affect you with a new powerful desire of following your dream.
I think I needed badly somet

Nice, extremely simple story about following your dreams. The language is a big too simple to take seriously sometimes. In this respect it's probably more suited to a younger reader, even though the content is aimed at those of us who may be starting to lose our ability to dream. I'd be happy to pass it on to my 12 yr old daughter who loves the ocean and dolphins, in the hope that she gets something out of it.

Lettura evitabile.

The book is written in a simple language. It may not give you something you expect from a complex piece of literature, but for casual readers it's a good recommendation. I traveled all the way from India to Colombia two weeks ago. And I haven't been able to read much because I am still adjusting to my life here. But this book made my Sunday morning special, and I can't complain.

Very simplistic - I'm not necessarily sure I need someone to tell me how to follow my dreams. This may be a good book to read to young children if you are looking for something to teach the importance of independent thought and looking beyond what is familiar.

Recommends it for: Children, Grown-ups - all!
Finally! It's a book so possitive and simple, that it can lift the day you read it. It is one of the first books so pure, about the life of dolphins - both scientifically and spiritually!
Besides it's short enough to read, at the end of a bad day. Therefore it is one of best books I know! :)

Just a beautifully illustrated, short book about living your dreams (if you were a dolphin). But you get the idea. Great book to give as a gift.
