A decent introduction to the topic showing a broad variety of views, old and new. Various viewpoints are explained in simple and clear language. The downside is the breadth and lack of focus, resulting in a mixture of incompatible views, some strange comparisons and odd takes.

I have not read its entirety, but it has great clarity and I faced my first class of philosophy in the 60's in grade school. Because I was a young girl it was easier for me to put my self in their place. My imagination ran with me.

A very basic introduction but accessible, easy to read and balanced.
