By day Luke is a seasoned military man who will do whatever is necessary to protect those who can’t protect themselves but there is another side to the man that is a book collector which is how he meets Gwen.

Gwen loves getting lost in books so there could not be a better career for her than that of a bookstore owner. When she meets Luke they connect over their love of books but it is when her parents are kidnapped that their worlds truly collide and they show what perfect partners they make both personally and professionally.

The story takes us on quite the ride with twists you don’t see coming, intrigue and a romance that is destined overcome any obstacles that life throws at them.

Overall Amanda rating: B
This book was very well done. The only thing that I think was overdone was the use of foul language. Yes, I know there will be foul language in these books. It has been lightly sprinkled throughout the previous books, as well as the books by Susan Stoker herself. It just felt excessive in this book. Yes, Delta soldiers probably use very foul language. But that is something we go into these books knowing. The overuse was actually annoying.
Characters: I think that the characters were very well written and they complimented each other beautifully. I think that the grandparents were strong, supportive, secondary characters.
Gwen is fiery, strong, and secure. She is beautiful and deserves a beautiful life.
Merlin is your typical Alpha Delta, strong, and protective to a fault. However willing to hide the truth from the person he claims to love over and over.
Gwen's parents: they are going to have to redeem themselves. Otherwise, I see no reason to keep them. They have no character development. They are horrid, selfish, and have no character arc.
The team is still an amazing band of brothers that love each other fiercely.
Overall a good read.

Lynne St. James does a remarkable job with this military romantic suspense chronicling the romance between Guinevere Dedman and Luke “Merlin” Forest. Ms. James sets this tale in the small town of Lancelot. Guinevere is in her mid-20s and was primarily raised by her grandparents. Her grandparents own the rare bookstore she works at. Her life is a sheltered life. Luke is the team leader of Delta Team 3. He collects old and rare books. One day, he walks into the bookstore and is instantly attracted to Guinevere “Gwen”. She is attracted to him. He realizes she is innocent and treads slowly in his pursuit. However, Fate throws a monkey wrench into their courtship with the mystery of her parents, Sherry and Arthur Dedman, are allegedly kidnapped and ransomed. Soon it becomes evident that Luke’s Delta team mission and the Dedmonds intersect. Can Luke keep Gwen safe as they try to rescue her parents? Will Gwen and Luke find happiness? You have to read this book to follow their adventure.

This book is a captivating quick read capturing the magnetism of love at first sight and coupled with suspense. Ms. James’ mastery of literary devices such as, characterization, dialog, dual POV, and descriptive language garnered my attention from the start. Ms. St. James did not disappoint me with this book. In fact, the opposite is true. I so want to read more about the men of Delta Team 3. Great job, Ms. St. James.

4.5 Deltastic Stars🌟

This is another first for me and reading Lynne and I have to say I absolutely loved this story and all the King Arthur references🤩

Gwen runs her family bookstore and when a gorgeous tall and handsome man comes inside, they are both struck with awe😍 Suffice to say when Fate gives you what you want, it also has to make you work for it by throwing in a splash of danger to test out your backbone❣️A much recommended read by me and I’m looking forward to finding out who caught Duff’s attention😱

This series is part of the Operation Alpha World, Delta Team Two series by Susan Stoker.

Gwen and Merlin are both bookworms but that in no way takes away from Merlin's sexiness and hotness. I want Merlin's library. Gwen's parents are in danger and Merlin's team is sent along to help save them. Her parents are a piece of work and I might have left them in danger.

Book 3
Gwen's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 3)
4 stars
I received a free copy of the steamy Texas military based novel Gwen's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 3)by Lynne St. James and this review was given freely.
An instant attraction romance involving fate, intrigue and a touch of whimsy which is set in Lancelot, Texas featuring the warm comradity of Delta Team Three, characters with names from old England at the time of King Arthur's reign as well as a rescue mission in Egypt.
Rare book enthusiast Delta Team Three operative Luke " Merlin" Forrest decides to start his week of leave away from his teammates in the quaint little Camelot Rare Books and Antiques store only to find himself mesmerized by its owner Guinevere " Gwen" Dedmond, captivated by her grandparents, and his leave cut short for the team to perform a mission involving the CIA, the military group Daesh and Gwen's parents.
Good if read on its own but there are differences from the original excerpt in book 2.

Book 4
Ivy's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 4) by Elle James
5 stars
I received a free copy of the steamy Killeen,Texas military based novel Ivy's Delta: Susan Stoker's Delta Team 3 Series: Book 4 by Elle James and this review was given freely.
Full of action and drama this mildly steamy attraction at first sight novel contains a close knit Delta Forces team, an easy flowing story of love and betrayal requiring multiple rescues but ending happily. 8 years after losing his childhood sweetheart and wife Katie in a tragic boating accident on their honeymoon, Army Special Forces/ Delta Forces motorcycle operative Magnus “Duff” McCormick feels the walls he has placed around his heart crack when disillusioned former high powered attorney now eclectic gift shop owner, Ivy Fremont literally falls into his arms.
Contains a fair amount of violence but graphic level is low.

Book 5
Hope's Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (Delta Team Three Book 5): with edits

4 stars
I received a free copy of the steamy Killeen, Texas military based novel Hope’s Delta (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) Delta Team 3, Book Five Hope: Jangles and by Riley Edwards and this review was given freely.
A fitting ending to the series. Intense, filled with drama, action and brief highlights from past sequels, this novel provides one last rescue mission, the rocky romance of Jangles and Hope, a story of the struggle towards forgiveness, and brief glimpses into each couples future lives.
Just as the emotionally scarred Ugly Mug's bartender and jack of all trades Hope Mitchell allows herself to believe she is worthy of love and a future with Delta Team 3 operative Beau “Jangles” Talbot, the return of Onur Demir seeking revenge pushes Teams 2 and 3 into one of the most important missions of their lives and a return to Turkey.
Contains some some violence but graphic level is low.

Gwen's Delta by Lynne St. James is the third book in the Delta Team 3 series set in the amazing Special Forces: Operation Alpha world created by Susan Stoker. And I knew as soon as I read the blurb that I was going to adore Gwen and Merlin! )Having a soft spot for Arthurian myth may or may not have played a small factor in that. And I have no regrets for that obsession of mine and how it made me adore these two all the more!)

Gwen is sweet and charming and has an inner core of steel as she deals with various situations thrown her way, completely out of the norm of her usual librarian life. I want to visit her bookstore and fall in love with all the books and be her friend and meet Sir Galahad!

Merlin is everything I want him to be and more. A bit reserved, a whole lot of alpha, and even more feels as his feet get swept out from under him by a sprite of a woman that he falls for instantaneously.

I adore their instant connection, their spark, their banter, their mutual love of books, the importance of a good library, their communication, the shmekshay times, and so much more.

The power of secrets, the value of honesty, and so much more gets explored in this story about a soldier and the woman meant to be his.

This story gives you a whole lot of bang for you buck, with moments of sweetness, moments of action, moments of chemistry that just seem to perpetuate throughout the entire story and more! I loved every moment I spent wrapped up in this story and I know you'll love settling down to get lost in it too! So, what are you waiting for?

I LOVED Gwen's Delta! This one holds a special little place in my heart because I love the classics, and I love that theses two meet and fall in love in a rare book store in Lancelot, TX of all places! I love military books and the more alpha the hero the better. But Merlin is such a gentleman, a complete dichotomy of what you would expect a big bad military dude to be. Of course there is the whole thing with her parents that I will NOT discuss since it will give too much away. But trust me, if you are a book nerd like me, you are going to just LOVE this book!

But I'm totally in love with this entire series!!! You get all the feels and the pace is so exciting you just run from one book to the other and never get bored! You've probably figured out this series is written by different authors. I don't know how they did it, but they totally kept all the characters personalities just like the other books. You don't feel like you are reading anything disjointed at all. Which I love! But more importantly, all of the teammates of Delta Team 3 feel like family after a while. I just love how this all came together. That's not to say you have to read the other books to enjoy any as they are all stand alone. You will not go wrong here.

I loved this book so much I am voluntarily leaving a review of this advanced readers copy.

Gwen, owner of a rare bookstore in Camelot, Tx, enjoys spending time with her “books”. She’s a shy, hardworking book nerd. She enjoys going on buying trips when her parents allow, but is truly at home with her books. Her meddling grandma believes otherwise.

Merlin, member of Delta Force team 3, has a much needed day off and wonders into the bookstore in search for his “unicorn”. Gwen can’t help but drool. Noticing this, her feisty grandma talks Merlin into asking her Gwen out for coffee. Gwen is embarrassed, but agrees to go. There’s something attractive about a Alpha male buying a rare book to add to his collection. Plus, his name is Merlin. One date leads to another. It’s not long before feelings become entangled with Merlin’s next mission.

Gwen’s Delta is the third novel in the Delta Team 3 series. Wow! The suspense, twists, feisty grandparents, overseas adventure make for a truly AWESOME story. This novel was one of my favorites! Both Gwen and Merlin are strong characters who know what they want and go after it—no doubts or going back and forth. It is a “love at first site” story. I love how supportive Merlin is of Gwen, how caring he is with her grandparents, and his library! OMG!!! I want bookshelves like that! Highly recommended. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

What happens when you kiss a stranger in a bookstore? Magic, of course. In this 3rd book in the Delta Team 3 Series, a shy bookstore owner meets Delta force operator, Luke, aka "Merlin". And when she gets a ransom demand for her parents who have been kidnapped while travelling in Egypt, guess what sexy soldier she turns to for help? But things are never what they seem. Our poor little bookworm (Gwen) becomes a central key in a terrorist plot that our hero Luke must help her survive. Meddling grandparents, kidnapped antiquity hunting parents, CIA spies, and one sexy Delta hunk make for an awesome adventure with so many twists and turns that you can't help but be sucked in! (Barring one seriously "too stupid to live" moment by the heroine, it's a great story) What I love most about this book is that the reader quickly "understands" what is going on in the plot and the anticipation of having the characters figure it out is exciting. It's like knowing a secret and waiting to see how long it takes for it to come out. And an explosive secret it is:) Can't wait for the next book: Ivy's Delta, by Elle James, where the next Delta domino- Magnus, aka "Duff" -falls. I received an ARC of this book to review.

This is book three in the Delta Team Three series a multi author series set in Susan Stokers world and I have to tell you I absolutely love how all of the book for the entire team have been released at the same time and that they are by such wonderful romantic military suspense authors In this third book we get Guinevere (Gwen) Dedmond and Luke “Merlin” Forest

This Merlin's story he is the unofficial leader and old man of the team though not by much he is also extremely wealthy with a family fortune behind him and the one thing he loves to spend money on is books but not just any books first editions and he is stunned to find a book shop that sells those close to where he is stationed and the woman that runs that store has his instant attention the moment he meets her. Gwen knows that real life isn't like the romance books she loves to read and even though she is after the Arthurian legend she doesn't expect a white knight to rescue her . But Merlin is called into rescue her parents when their book and artifact buying trip in Egypt goes awry because they are involved in far more than just buying books Will he be able to save the parents of the woman he is growing to love You will have to read to see

I enjoyed this book but i liked Destiny's story more.
in this one, the storyline was good and although a bit slow and covered in romance at the start, it began to pick up pace and get into the action half way through. i shake my head at one particular thing that always seems to be portrayed no matter who the author is...that is the CIA always seemed to be the bad guys.
Side characters and their antics are humour filled and fun.
only drawback for me was that the writing was a tad on the shallow side when the angst got going. the h didn't seem to be too worried about her life and death situation let alone that she just discovered news about her parents and all truths withheld. I think the depth could have gone deeper and picked up with intensity.
the H, as usual, fell quick and hard even though in the beginning of the book he swore he'd never get involved.
Kathryn did an ok job at narrating Gwen and the female voices but her inflections were a little on the mild side when the h was in dire straits. Tor did well as the H, although his inflections were a bit sketchy too and like Kathryn, lacked some intensity when the going got tough. I persisted but felt disappointed. I've listened to Tor before and enjoyed his narration but he fell a bit short with this plotline.

We are back with the members of Delta Team Three. Strong men with a heart of gold who are little by little finding independent and strong women to be their match. Women strong enough to have a relationship with a special forces warrior.
While books 1 and 2 were inter-connected, though could be considered independent of each other, this one is definitely a stand alone.
Merlin/Luke Forest is the unofficial leader of the group. A man with a sixth sense and a lover of rare books. When he enters a rare book store in Lancelot, he is captivated by the owner, Guinevere/Gwen Dedmond. Neither realizing that not only their lives would be changed forever, but also that Merlin’s next mission will also affect Gwen . Secrets abound as well as danger. Will Gwen and Merlin/Luke have a chance to find their HEA, or will the terrorist have the final say?
Secondary characters in the form of Gwen’s grandparents , were delightful.
Though I am partial to books one and two, this one was a good one by an author that was new to me. One that I will be adding to my TBR list.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Gwen’s Grandmother told her she was going to end up an old maid if she didn’t start dating, Gwen constantly worked she was 28 and Gwen thought that if her her grandparents and her parents had a fairy tale ending maybe her prince would just walk in the store someday too, he’d have to because she never went anywhere. Her grandparents owned Camelot book store and her parents were always going on buying trips for the store, leaving her Grandfather and Gwen’s grandmother who was looking a little tired, with Gwen who seemed like the adult while her parents like the children to run things at the book store. even though. Is that why Gramps was upset when Gwen’s parents wouldn’t stay and work the store and let them go on buying trips? Or Why Grandma keeps pushing Gwen to start dating and get married? Would Gwen ever meet her prince?
Luke Forest a Delta Force Seal was thankful His commander had given him a week off between missions as he was exhausted. Luke just needed a little downtime as he entered the old book store apply named Camelot in the town of Lancelot Texas.
This is The Very Basic Beginning to a wonderfully suspenseful romantic story I just couldn’t put down.K

Who needs a knight in shining armour when you can have the wizard?

Gwen’s Delta (Delta Team Three) is up there as one of Lynne St James’s best.
I was hooked from the first page. I love the dynamic between the characters not just Guinevere, Gwen, and Luke aka Merlin; but their friends and family, even the odd ambivalent cat.

To describe this story as the bookworm and the Delta would be doing Merlin a disservice as he is both a bookworm and a Delta, it is his love of books that lands him in Gwen’s grandparents’ rare bookshop. Once he sets eyes on Gwen, he is reluctant to leave.

Gwen believes she is happy with her life, working in her grandparents’ shop, whilst her parents are jetting off on adventures to source new books and artifacts, little does she know that she is about to embark on a dangerous adventure of her own.

My life is so busy and filled with many things out of my control and it is through her talent of storytelling that I can escape and find myself caught up in a tale of love and suspense.

We met Gwen in Destiny's Delta, she runs a book store named Camelot in Lancelot, Texas for her grandparents. They keep insisting that she take more time off, go out, meet people but Gwen's perfectly happy with her life the way it is.

Her grandmother was with her in the shop when Luke 'Merlin' Forest comes in to browse their rare books. Grams is a bit of a matchmaker.

If Gwen thought her grandparents were bad they have nothing on Merlin's team. In fact Zip and Destiny show up at the restaurant where they are having their first real date.

Things turn from fun to intrigue and suspense when Gwen's parents are kidnapped. They were supposed to be on a buying trip in Egypt but had gone off from their itinerary. When Merlin's team gets put on alert, things get more intense as Merlin has to keep a lot of things to himself.

With the CIA involved, you know there's going to be some FUBAR moments and boy are there.

I love this story, with all it's Arthurian references, Merlin's books and OMG the sizzling heat!

Just fantastic – writing, characters, story – all of it!
Can you get a better pairing that Merlin and Guinevere? That’s who we have here – Luke and Gwen are literally a match made in Camelot – and it’s set in Lancelot! Passionate Arthurian legends fanatic that I am, I confess to having started with this book just because of that, and I don’t regret it for a second. For those like me, I hasten to say that Gwen is so much stronger than Guinevere, that this Merin is a very sexy Delta, and that the ending is much happier than Guinevere’s own in the legend.

Moving on to the book :-). This book is wonderful; the setting is so unusual that it does transport you elsewhere. And when Merlin’s Delta mission involves Gwen’s parents, the tension ramps up. The writing is brilliant, the characters are alive (Gwen’s grandparents are fabulous and not to be missed either), and the tension is just enough to stop you putting the book down. This book represents sleep lost in an awesome cause!

Was it fate or karma that brought them together?

Gwen works in the family's bookstore that sells old books. Merlin finds the bookstore online but decides to drive there since it is close. He is looking for first edition books to add to his collection his grandfather started and got him hooked on. They both feel the instant connection but it was Grams insisting they go for coffee that really did it. Gwen was raised by her grandparents because her parents were always gone on buying trips for the store. Shit hits the fan when they receive a phone call that her parents have been kidnapped in Cairo. This feeds into the mission that Delta team 3 has been planning but this is the missing piece they have been looking for. Will they be able to get Gwen and her parents home safely and unharmed? How will Gwen and her grandparents react when they find out the truth about her parents? Can she forgive Merlin for the lies he had to tell her about the rest of the mission?

How's this for a premise? A place called Camelot Rare Books in a town named Lancelot with a heroine named Guinevere whose father is Arthur the hero is Merlin. Modern day fairytale, right? Lynne St. James has packed a lot into Gwen's Delta and it's all good stuff: kidnapping plots, CIA operatives, radical terrorist groups with bombs and an instant attraction romance.

Luke "Merlin" Forest and Gwen Dedmond's love of books gives them a common bond. She's a self confessed book nerd that captures his imagination. She seemingly has bewitched him. Not that he's complaining. Gwen can't believe this gorgeous man would even give her a second glance. When Gwen's parents' lives are threatened, Merlin and his Delta team are tasked with protecting Gwen as she travels to Egypt and assisting her in securing the parents' release.

Dessert! Loved the connection to Camelot, Lancelot, Texas, Gwen, Merlin, Arthur, Sir Galahad. Totally a different side of Merlin comes out, who would have thunk a passion for old books? This book is a bit of a slow burn, both in intensity and action, even though it's over a short period of time. Explosive when it happens though. When you know, you know, especially when buying shoes that will bring your height up from your man's chest to his collarbone!

Love the dynamics of the team and their families. I've read Ms. St. James before and I totally recommend any of her books. This one being part of Special Forces: Operation Alpha, a definite no brainer. Recommend it, you can't go wrong with the level of spice, intensity, wit and just plain old entertainment.

I received this advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

What happens when authors join forces and write their own story on one of the Alpha Delta man on one team....you get five books, each with their own style and flair brining to life each character which HAVE to be read in order to gain the full experience of each member in the Delta team.
Next up is Luke aka Merlin who is the leader of the team and who is used to getting razzed as the oldest. He meets Gwen when he indulges in his hobby of collecting and reading books. Gwen helps out at her grandparents bookstore that specializes in rare books and is smitten by the tall handsome man, and her grandma has no problems playing matchmaker. The two hit it off but don’t realize their paths will cross in his world when her parents need his team’s help, bringing her into the mix of his world.
Oh boy Merlin is smoking in this read, his Alpha paired with his soft underbelly makes a lethal combination hard to ignore and neither can Gwen. The sparks flew off the pages and I LOVED the little to no drama between. The story flowed beautifully, with steam, suspense and secrets once again exposed that rocks Gwen’s world.

A great read by Lynne St. James in the third Delta Team Three book, “Gwen’s Delta.” What I liked is how there is the whole romance aspect on love at first sight, believing in true love. Growing up Gwen heard the stories on how her grandparents and her parents first met knowing that this is the person they will marry. So she grew up hearing true love at first sight. At least she believed it until college after dating a few losers. At least until she met Luke “Merlin” Forest. The leader of Delta Team 3. The passion between the let’s say wow. With every interaction I was drawn more into the story. Between wanting to know what is going on in Egypt with Gwens parents and the mission I was drawn in wanting to know what will happen next. I highly recommend this book.

I was given an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this tale of old bookstores stores, knights in shining armor (Delta Team3), maidens in trouble named Gwen, and a magical Delta named "Merlin". I loved the bookstore and the town of Lancelot. I could picture them in my mind as I read the story.

Gwen is more than a shy bookworm and when she gets a big shock near the end of the story, she doesn't cave under pressure. She is a trooper throughout the entire story. She has flaws like the fact that she can't cook which makes her a very loveable character. She is perfect for Merlin who himself is a bit of bookworm when isn't a badass Delta on a mission.

Ms. St. James' story was fun, full of action, love, and well it fits right in with Ms. Stoker's Delta series. I loved this book and its characters. Gwen's grandparents are wonderful, the kind of grandparents everyone should have.

Very much enjoyed this instalment of Delta Team 3.

Gwen runs a rare bookstore along with her grandparents. Luke AKA Merlin calls in to the store while he’s on leave. Gwen’s grandparents awkwardly push them into a date. It’s here they find they’ve far more in common than they first think.
As their relationship progresses, truths about Gwen’s parent come to the surface and will these drive a wedge between the new couple.

This book had great suspense and romance. I really enjoyed it. It was lovely to see both Gwen and Merlin’s insecurities and how they overcome them and continue to get to know one another.
I can’t really say there was anything I didn’t like about either character. I would like to have read about more about what happened with Gwen’s parents before they headed home to Texas.
Very much recommend though.
