It's been two years since I read this series so when Zayde's book was finally released I hesitated on whether I should read it since I remembered NOTHING tbh.
Thankfully, Becca gives you a nice recap of all the events and it is a great refresher.
I didn't know what to expect from Zayde's book, but it was not this? I don't know where it went differently but I just remembered the mystery around him, and I did not expect it to be so close to home and story that involved the others.
Zayde fell in love with Fallon who is the daughter of the Hyde family and Joseph's younger sister. They sadly could never be together out in the open because of their family rivalry so when they are it’s short but sweet. They were everything to each other and we got to see their beginning up to the day it all fell apart in this book.
The day it broke was when Fallon's brother Tim dies by accident after a fight with Zayde and Fallon witnesses it and blames him for it even though the house they were in was condemned and the floor broke and he fell to his death.
This separated them for almost 2 years with no contact.
Now this is where it got ruined for me. We are told over and over how in love Zayde is with Fallon, how she is everything to him and would do ANYTHING for her, but he spends the time apart from her sleeping around. It also is hinted he lost his virgnity to her so I hated how he went around sleeping with people just to FORGET HER...argh I hate this excuse.
It just would have worked better for me if he had not. While Fallon was stuck in the past and never did anything with anyone else, Zayde was getting his dick wet, and he just explains it away saying it was nothing and he never let the girls in. Doesn't matter in my eyes as their love should have been enough for him to NOT want to sleep with others.
Zayde always has self-harmed and has been doing it for years (ever since he was a child) and this is one of his coping mechanisms. The other way he deals is by other types of pain, so getting tattoos/piercings.
The subplot concerning the Hyde situation was too predictable too, I saw everything coming from a mile away and Joseph (Fallon's other brother) was an idiot and blind. He let his father manipulate and dictate everything and never thought he should STOP it after all their father was abusive towards all his children for years and did not have an ounce of redeemable in him and neither did their mother.
I also would have liked a longer look into the future for everyone. We got a few months into the future, and it didn't really give us much. There is an extra scene that can be downloaded that gives you a look into their graduation but it's still not far enough for the core couples.
We will be getting books concerning Creed's world, Austin, and Kinslee and more and The Four couples will make appearances so hopefully we will see them as ADULTS and married etc…
I was sad this did not work for me, but it is what it is.

I can’t wait for this book. I think Z may end up with Hyde’s sister. I’m also hoping for something between Kinslee and Creed as a spin-off.

GRAÇAS A DEUS acabei.... que livro arrastado, a escrita da becca steele é tudo menos cativante é tao boring e idiota. Os dialogos desse livro sao muito ruins, que faz com que o livro seja mais deficil ainda de terminar. é cada coisa vergonhosa, nao que teve uma cena, mas sim as situaçoes ou as declaraçoes como tambem -de novo- os dialogos que sao tao bestas que da até pena. Nem precisava dizer que o desenvolvimento nao é legal, o jeito que o flashback sao trazidos pela becca é muito mal colocado, de uma forma forçada e o pensamento que vem antes desses flashbacks e pior ainda pq é tipo um pensamento introdutorio... e é ruim, apenas isso. Fallonzayde sao fofos, acho que eles combinam mas o problema é que a becca steele é uma pessima autora e nao sabe desenvolver nada, é uma escrita ruim, com um enredo ruim e um plot pessimo. Nao existe uma angst muito forte nesse livro, e tambem os personagens, principalmente a fallon, mudam muito rapido, nao demorou 2 pags para ela se declarar pro zayde de uma forma bregaaa e capenga, sendo que ela culpava ele pela morte do irmao dela, TIPO DESENVOLVER CARAMBA! todas as situaçoes ficaram superficiais e a autora nao sabe escrever um livro cativante, apenas isso! demorei mas finamente nunca mais vou precisar ler um livro da becca steele novamente AMEM.

The Darkness In You is book 6 in the Four series by Becca Steele and can be read as a standalone but for increased reader enjoyment, you should definitely read all previous books in the series.
One thing that I love that Becca has done is at the start of the book, she’s put a recap of what has happened previously in the past five books so if it’s been a while since you’ve read the other books, don’t worry, Becca has you covered!
My man Zayde Lowry! He’s been my absolute favourite since the first page of this series and I loved being inside his head and finally figuring out how he ticked. His relationship with Fallon was just heartbreaking and I’m so glad that the dark and broody one of the four, finally got his girl. Every time Zayde smiled, it was like I’d won the lottery.
Fallon and Zayde went through so much to be together. Family rivalries keeping them apart but eventually Zayde and the four stepped and became the men I always knew they would be and I’m so fucking sad that this series is over. I actually read the last chapter and epilogue with a smile on my face but tears streaming. I looked like a maniac. Becca Steele left us plenty of crumbs for other characters though so fingers crossed we get to see the four again in the not so distance future.
As always, the banter between Caiden, Zayde, Cassius and Weston was on point and made it feel like I was a part of the family. The girls, Winter, Lena, Jessa and Fallon are some of my favourite heroines ever and I can’t wait to see glimpses of them in the future if they do cameo in other books.
Anyway, I’ll stop rambling because I can talk about this series for days. If you love found family, ride or dies with bonds that will tie them forever, then do yourself and favour and read this series. It’s phenomenal and will forever be one of my favourites!

And the final book in "The Four" series is here and I am kind of sad for that!!!
Don't get me wrong!!! I was beyond excited that Zayde's story finally came to us, but I liked their little chosen family a little too much and I wanted more of them!!!
My only hope now is Creed and Kinslee!!! And for my guys to make an appearance in there!!! Along with their beautiful girls!!!
But let me focus on Zayde and his girl!!! A girl from his past who is coming back into his life for once again... But while she used to have hearts into her eyes for him, things are pretty different now!!!!

Becca started the story from the past and honestly, I liked seeing a different side of Zayde!!!
The broody boy with the serial killer's stares was a young boy too with much darkness in his past and a girl that was his whole world... She was his angel, but fate was always against them!!!
Zayde and Fallon met long before Zayde become friends with the rest of the guys, and Fallon was never supposed to be his for so many reasons...
But they tried to be together, and then that fateful night came and everything changed for these two...
And Zayde became bitter and more alone than ever!!! But he never forgot his angel!!!
"I was no stranger to pain, but breaking Fallon's heart... I knew it would fucking break me, too."
Fallon Hayde was a girl full of life, even though the situation at home wasn't ideal!!! But she had her two brothers and Zayde in her side and they were giving her the strength she needed, but then, she lost them and all hope and happiness abandoned her...
Almost two years later and while her father is under arrest, she is coming back home, but it is very hard to be in a place that left her broken and scarred!!!
Her only rays of light are no longer there and the boy she used to love is the one that hurt her the most... She needs closure, but why her heart is singing wildly when she is in Zayde's presence when only hate she is supossed to have for him???

I liked Zayde and Fallon very much!!!
The truth is that Zayde turned out to be more softie than I thought, but I liked how connected he was with Fallon!!!
Even the time and the distance, their love never ceased to exist and it was about time for him to get his girl back!!!
My heart was aching for these two very much!!! Both of them had their own issues to deal with, but their connection was undeniable!!!

Of course, the cherry on the top was the presence of all the other members of this crazy bunch!!! I laughed and swooned with them so much...
Each one of these couples have given me incredible moments and I won't ever be able to forget them!!!
I just need to live a little bit more into their world!!!

The Darkness in You is the sixth book in The Four series and we finally get Zayde's story. It was heavy and dark but also hopeful and passionate.
I didn't love this story but I loved Zayde. I didn't love Fallon but I loved who she was with Zayde. These two really had great chemistry but I would have liked a little more intimacy between the two of them to make up for all the pain of the past. The story felt a little floppy and I felt a little confused at times. It was either too fast or too slow and I think it lost a little of its luster along the way. However, this series will hold a special place in my heart.

It’s been a long time coming! Zayde has always been my favorite of the Four, so I’ve been looking forward to this for a while, and Becca did not disappoint. This is easily one of the best books in the series. Zayde is as captivating as ever, and even more so with Fallon—I LOVE them together. And I of course enjoyed reading about the Four again. Plotwise, it wasn’t particularly remarkable to me, but I honestly didn’t mind because I prefer focusing on characters anyway. Zayde and Fallon’s histories were truly heart-wrenching, and I think Becca did well with portraying and diving into their trauma. I do wish we had seen more of the dynamics between the rest of the Four and Fallon as she joined them (I had this thought with Cassius’s/Jessa’s book as well), there perhaps could have been more development there. But all around this was a great conclusion (which makes me feel incredibly bittersweet) to this series—I’ve been following it since the beginning and I’ll absolutely miss these characters—that ultimately does Zayde and Fallon’s stories justice.

Just finished cassius book and The bonus! I am sad to see that it really won't be kinslee and zayde, what a shame she won't be part of The four either... i know they didn't interact that much but when they did it was kind of cute and he was different with her, More relaxed... which is The kind of balanced he need i guess... i have reservation But anyway still intrigued by zayde so We ll see

Becca did an amazing job with Zayde's story! The way she took us back to before The Four and how she kept mixing the past with the present to give us readers a better understanding of Zayde was perfectly done.
Up until now, he's been the dark, silent, mysterious person, and we're finally able to see who he is and what made him this way.
Zayde and Fallon's story was heartbreaking, both as a couple and each character's personal story. It seemed as though these two were doomed as soon as Zayde moved to Alstone. Both of these characters were ready to fall for and root for throughout the story.
I am both excited yet saddened by reading The Darkness In You. I've been wanting Zayde's story since he first made his appearance in The Lies We Tell. Now that it's finally here, I'm kind of sad that it is because this is the final book in the series, and it's hard to let go.
If you haven't read this series, I highly suggest it. I also suggest starting at the beginning and reading in order because even though each story is about different characters and their own stories, there is a continuation of suspenseful drama that connects each story to the previous.

Finally we get Zayde’s story ! I have been dying for the broken boy with the serial killer stare story since the beginning I knew his story was going to be amazing and this author didn’t disappoint! What a ending to a fabulous series I’ve loved this journey and I can only hope we haven’t seen the last of this crew ! Amazing ending emotional raw heartfelt plenty of moments between the Four definitely a great way to go out! This series is definitely one of my favorites and one I highly recommend!

Omg , I have been waiting for so long for This man's book! Ever since I met these characters in the first book of this series, I Knew his book would be the best and definitely the most anticipated read of mine .
What I never expected was for his book to have all the tropes I loved so much. There is dark romance , second chances , angst and so much more. Leave it to Becca to make all my dreams come true. That being said , I absolutely loved this one so much. It was more of a contemporary romance for me and not a dark romance read.
Definitely recommending this one to all the contemporary romance loving people out there!!

Getting this one's ARC made me so happy, but I couldn't dive in right away, it's the final book in series...But I wanted Zayde's HEA so f'ing much. I started, couldn't stop, devoured it in 7hrs!!
"The Darkness in You" is a dark, New Adult, Friends-to-lovers-to-tragedy-to-lovers romantic suspense. Our broody quiet Zayde with a killer stare had such a sweet relationship with sweet, fierce & caring Fallon even tho their families were enemies, years of love, until a tragedy broke them apart. But fate put their tracks together & YES for their 2nd Chance. Gosh, they're made for eachother. I was so glad when Fal FINALLY stopped blaming Z for it, It was an accident, no one's fault 😭. The sexy times comes in later half, once they reconciled, no probs from me!
Glad her abusive dad is dead!!
And the friendships, goddamn, it just steals my heart!!! I love it so much 😭. I loved the bonus story🥰. I'll miss'em but so joyful that Becca will (sorta) spin off series!

Our broody quiet Zayde with a killer stare had such a sweet relationship with sweet, fierce & caring Fallon even tho their families were enemies, years of love, until a tragedy broke them apart. But fate put their tracks together & YES for their 2nd Chance. Gosh, they're made for eachother. I was so glad when Fal FINALLY stopped blaming Z for it, It was an accident, no one's fault 😭. The sexy times comes in later half, once they reconciled, no probs from me!

And the friendships, goddamn, it just steals my heart!!! I love it so much 😭. I loved the bonus story🥰. I'll miss'em but so joyful that Becca will (sorta) spin off series!

The Darkness in You by Becca Steele gave me so many feels. My heart broke for Zayde and Fallon. The angst of forbidden unrequited love was epic. The suspense kept me glued to the pages. Zayde and Fallon both has their darkness and scars. They are broken but together they are perfect. It was an emotional rollercoaster that wrecked my heart. The epilogue was one of the most beautiful one I have ever read.
If you haven't read previous books in Four series, don't worry. There is a recap at the beginning so you won't be lost. I haven't read either and the plot is cleverly set so I didn't miss anything. This has a Romeo Juliet vibe with Zayde and Fallon's family being sworn enemies. But Fallon is nothing like her father. She has been abused and hurt by her father too. She is the kindest and sweetest person ever. She loved and cared for Zayde when he had nothing. Things got complicated when Zayde's rich and powerful father entered in the scene and he moved to Alstone. They had to keep their relationship secret..till the tragic death of Fallon's brother made her hate Zayde. Now she is back in Alstone after years of therapy..and we go to the enemies to lovers side!
This story has so many dimensions and facets. The heartache of young unrequited love. The heartbreak of misunderstanding separating them. The tension of enemies to lovers part. Zayde is complex with his own darkness. He is definitely the smoking hot alpha who can do anything for his friends and his families. But for Fallon, he is someone else. He has his own world of pain and he has own dysfunctional way of coping but Fallon is his angel..his light. Together they are stronger and braver. This story shows friendship is thicker than blood..and the unique dynamics of the Four is a strong point of this story. This story comes with twists after twists with equal amount of angst. And I am going to miss them!

This boy... I waited for him and he was soooo worth the wait. I loved his and Fallon's story. It's a story about heartbreak and love.
I loved this boy the most from book 1.
The only thing I disliked about the book was the flashbacks to the other books. It made me trip up a few times. I get why it was needed for their story, so it was fine, but some things made me go like 'huh'.
But nothing could stop me from loving this couple. They have soulmate vibes and in general the bad fucked up boy, who loves like that... is just catnip for me. Soooo... yes yes yes!

I’m so sad. I think this series was my first dark romance/romantic suspense. I’m sad that’s it’s over. Caiden was my first book boyfriend and I just love the Four!
I’m also sad because this book was boring. I skimmed through some parts just to finish. I liked the basic premise, but I expected more from Zayde. He was always the dark, mysterious one and this just felt like a YA version of him.
In fact, it felt very YA all around. 😔

Becca did a fantastic job in the conclusion of The Four. Fallon and Zayde's story is the final tale and it was a perfect wrap up. We finally get to learn more about Zayde and who captured his heart all those years ago. There is so much history and trauma between these two. You can't help but feel for them as they work through past and current events.
This was a story about family, second chances, love, heartbreak, family rivalries and friendships. The broody bad boy shows his softer and more playful side with the quite reserved girl. Neither Fallon or Zayde had a great upbringing and they both need to figure a way to live with the pain of the past. Even with all the chaos surrounding their lives, they are able to find each other.
This story ends with new beginnings for all the characters. I love the friendship and respect The Four and their girls have for each other. Their playful banter is a joy to read. Can't wait to read the upcoming stories about Kinslee, Creed and Austin.

We finally get Zayde’s book!! Honestly, it’s been so long I forgot it was coming! Lol! Dark, mysterious, bad boy Zayde was alway my favorite. 🖤

I felt this book was a little slow, honestly. It took a long time to get to forgiveness! Lol. But it still was a great final addition to The Four series! And my boy Zayde deserves his happy ending!!! 🖤

i left reading this at 17%, but not for the lack of interest in the book.
this book was exceedingly well-written, but the moment , i just couldn't go through it. i loved them, and call me a chicken, but i dont think i can handle the aftermath, even if im just a passive reader.
