Begin Again: A Young Widow’s Journey from Tragedy to Strength by Kimberly Dredger is a haunting and beautiful read! I found it to be well-written, paced beautifully, and the characters are really brought to life through great dialogue.
The story is one of loss and tragedy filled with poignant, profound moments. Ultimately, though, there is always hope for a new beginning!
“I used to wonder who I’d be in different situations. Instead, I’m learning who I am now. That’s what’s important. Whatever a person lives through, no matter how horrible, wonderful, or personal, those are the only tools we have.”
Touching story about finding strength and moving forward. Readers from the Missoula area will feel right at home in this novel. I most enjoyed hearing Kimberly's voice speak through each of her characters.
Montana June has survived such a tremendous loss This book truly brings the reader to the brink of reality. What would we do if we lost the one person that gives us a purpose for living? How would we learn to live again? Could we embrace life a second time and try to find love again? Could we find a reason to go on? What would happen to us when the darkness overtook us? This was a powerful women’s fiction book, make no mistake there is some romance but the point to this book is about finding yourself again when you’re left with nothing but heartbreak… Kimberly Dredger wrote an incredible book about loss, survival, conquering our pasts and learning to live again…Well done Kimberly!
Imagine losing your best friend and the love of your life; this is precisely what happens to Montana June when her beloved husband losses his battle with cancer. In order to honor his last request, she has to pick herself up, dust herself off and learn how to Begin Again. Trouble is, not everyone wants to help her easily move on. Through their intentional or unintentional actions, she has to face a whole new batch of issues she never imagined she would be coping with. Kimberly Ellen Dredger does a nice job conveying the emotions Montana June (June Bug) has to face. An enjoyable read with moments of heart-wrenching loss.
