An important (and beautifully written) word of warning.

I heard the writer interviewed on the Filmsuck podcast and I thought it sounded interesting. I don't know a lot about this area and learned about the major thinkers. I think Pettman is on to something: so much of the left is about denial and self-abnegation but the only future worth living for should have pleasure and joy as a part of it. A delightful read! Important and well written. Very nice to see Pettman's voice come through, found myself laughing more than I thought I would at such a serious piece. The subtle humour made it a lot easier to digest and connect with. ...more
