After barely escaping from the Beyond, an alternate dimension swarming with bloodthirsty monsters, high-schoolers Yamagishi and Sendo realize their lives aren't going back to normal anytime soon. Determined to delve deeper into the secrets of the Beyond, they team up with the mysterious paranormal investigator Akisato, under whose grudging guidance they begin to uncover a world of occult sects and black magic.
When Yamagishi stumbles across an unknown sigil that he somehow recognizes, it quickly becomes clear his involvement is no mere coincidence. He's sure the creepy symbol has something to do with the orphanage where he grew up — and he's determined to find out truth, even if he has to go back into the Beyond to find the answers to his missing past.

Such a shame there's only 2 volumes, I have so many questions and wanted to see where this was going.

I once again prove that my tastes are somewhat off kilter from that of a lot of my friends, because between this and Jujutsu Kaisen, I vastly prefer this series. I seem to be the only one, alas. And I worry that this may be the end of the line for Parham Itan. But I hope not, because I really loved this volume as well, and would love to see more.
As Yamagishi and Sendo delve deeper into the paranormal world that has been opened to them, Yamagishi finds that he is a lot more connected to the whole thing that he initially thought, going down a dark rabbit hole. I think the story is trying to evoke sort of a lovecraftian feel, and it sometimes really works -- the whole book really carries a mood and atmosphere that I like. And our main characters and their interplay (especially as they start to meet more of the shady people on the dark side of the world) really worked well for me. I want to see more of these two, and I want to see them reach their goals!

Este es un volumen que se lee en una sentada, ¡en serio! El tiempo se me pasó volando a medida que descubría más cosas sobre el mundo macabro de Kaili Sorano. Es una historia de aventuras y monstruos que te deja con ganas de más, igual que el primer volumen. Tiene una dosis de horror y fantasía oscura que me encanta, junto con un ritmo y estilo que te muestra todo con detalle.

This is a volume that reads in one sitting, seriously! Time flew by as I discovered more about the Kaili Sorano's ghoulish world. It's an adventure and monster story that leaves you wanting more, just like the first volume. It has a dose of horror and dark fantasy that I love, along with a rhythm and style that shows you everything in detail.

This is a very good continuation. Picking up where Vol 1 left off, we find our two "heroes" wondering about their place in this new world of monsters and magic. With deeper mysteries to explore, Vol 2 sucks the reader in further, adding new characters and shady figures to the mix. With a light fantasy vibe that seems almost Lovecraftian, Parham Itan delivers what it sets out to do; it is an action, adventure story but also dives into ideas of figuring out one's place and identity (notably with Yamagishi). I look forward to the next installment.
