A lively set of playscript adaptations of the original six Magpies storybooks at Stage 8, these are ideal for consolidation and reading practice, and can be used with groups or individuals. They teach the conventions of drama and develop skills in reading aloud and shared reading. Each play has a cast list of between four and six characters including one or more narrators. There are six lines of text per page and suggestions for sound effects. The words are close to the original story and the artwork is completely re-drawn to show similar scenes to the original storybooks.

This is book is good because it has bright and colourful illustrations on each page. This gives an opportunity for the child to read each and look at the pictures which go with it so that they have a better understanding of the story.

The illustrations are an excellent way of clarifying the story for the children. The story plays on the child’s imagination as Kipper and his friends go on a magic adventure. This is something which children can relate to as they have creative imaginations and therefore they can engage in the fantasy of the story.

I enjoyed the book because all the different adventures that kipper goes on and in the end when kipper is telling his friends about the story they don’t believe him (they think it was just a dream). This can get the child thinking whether the different adventures which Kipper embarked on were real. This might also be a reason why children might enjoy this book. This book is a stage 8 book and can be read by a child with a good ability in reading within the age range of 6-8.

Suddenly,Kipper's toys became life. Then, they had the 107th bear's picnic.Kipper didn't see the famous bears."Where are the famous bears?"He said.I didn't like this book because I don't like the kidnappers.Did they escape on time?

We read the book not the play and it was cool. It was full of teddies. Kipper and his cuddly toys went to the teddybears' picnic which was big festival for every teddy.
