I really enjoyed this interactive devotional/journal.
The topics of growth, planting, pruning, blooming, really spoke to me in this season of motherhood and homeschooling.
There’s sections to memorize scripture, pray/mediate on specific verses, record memories of God’s faithfulness, sharing the gospel, transforming your thoughts with “I feel…. BUT I know ….” Prompts, a book tracker for read that encourage, develop and mature your faith and giftings. And so much more. Such an inspiring, intentional way to read the Bible and grow.
The Well-Watered Life was a great devotional. I liked how it was written and all the Bible verses listed. Some are quoted and others are listed for you to look up. I found myself highlighting a lot and can see myself rereading portions later on. I also enjoyed the garden/plant theme.
I get that there was guidance to be able to use the journal with the book if you wanted to but I wish I hadn’t because it made it more confusing and less desirable to even use it. Wasn’t a fan of the organization. Especially if you’re going to refer to it as a companion to the book.
I devour every resource Gretchen and the WWW team put out each year, and this devotional journal did not disappoint. I received an early digital copy thanks to the launch team and publisher. Can't wait to have my physical copy in the mail later this week! Even the digital copy is beautiful, with illustrations and filled with prompts, teachings, exercises and takeaways. What a wonderful way to chronicle your own faith journey in following the prompts and learn how to cultivate a life well watered in the unending well of Jesus.
I used this journal alongside of 'the Well-Watered Woman' book.
I really enjoyed this journal. It gave me lots of inspiration and tips to grow in faith. It's definitely a journal that you can't finish within a few days, this journal is meant to be used over the course of weeks or months. I also totally loved the poems in every chapter.
I highly recommend this journal to anyone who wants to grow closer to Jesus and wants to dive deeper into Scripture.
I started this journal after I had read through most of the companion book. I started both during a very difficult time in my life. I had been in a job that was very toxic & soul-sucking for nearly three years. My health was in shambles mentally, physically, emotionally, & spiritually. This journal & companion book changed my life. They re-ignited my relationship with God. They helped me to heal. The teachings of this journal/book gave me to courage to trust in Him. I took a step of faith & left my job without any other job prospects or even a plan. Since starting this journal I feel that I am a completely different person. I had never been good at journaling, but the prompts of the journal really helped me to be introspective while still keeping me rooted in the Word. The analogies the author used about flowers & growing through the seasons really spoke to my soul. This journal is for the woman who is struggling & coming out on the other end I feel that I am ready to transition into another season of life - flourishing. I hope to purchase another journal from this author ASAP that fits my most current season of life!
Amazing. This book changed my perspective on life & my relationship with Jesus. The inspiration of gratitude and servitude that this journal has guided me into becoming more intentional with is something I’m thankful for. Gretchen did a fantastic job conveying thoughts & concepts so that I could understand what being a well-watered women really means. The journal is filled with activities, to be done during the reading and to be done past reading the section. I still revisit these pages. I highly recommend this journal for any Christian woman.
I loved how this book intertwined personal stories with scripture and reflection. The scripture wasn’t just written in the book, but placed there for you to grab your Bible to look it up, read, and reflect. It gave you space to journal and reflect on how the scripture pertains to your life. Journaling prompts for ways to grow in faith, to memorize and apply scripture, and encouragement to continue on. Everything was easily broken into smaller portions.
I truly enjoyed the reflections and writing in here. It did help me to grow my spiritual habits and my desire to revisit the Bible more. It is not a journal that is meant to be "one and done" and certainly invites you to jump around and return back to other sections. I like to work beginning to end, so that was a challenge for me.
