When Thomasina (Tommie) Watson met Finbar Holmes the two become great friends and a slightly different but so enjoyable Holmes & Watson partnership was born! The characters are genuine and I really grew to love them. Their first case involves sudden death of two women who were customers at Tommie's tea shop. Holmes and Watson must solve the mystery before the duo becomes a target!
The characters were such fun and I loved the way they methodically solved the mystery. The quirky supporting characters added to the story..especially Henry! The ending was a shocker but made perfect sense. Twists and turns and "red herrings" made Tainted Teacup a wonderful first in a series! I've already bought the second book!

A cozy murder mystery with a whiff of full Irish breakfast, herbal infusion and neighbourhood drama - starring, and presumably aimed at, middle-aged suburban divorced ladies. DNF - not really my cup of tea.

The Tainted Teacup is the first in this culinary cozy mystery series. It takes place in Florida and starts of with Thomasina “Tommie” Watson at her tea shop. A woman comes in and then dies in her shop. Tommie then meets a chef from Dublin, Finnbar "Finn" Holmes. He also fancies himself a detective of sorts and shares traits of the fictional Detective with the same surname Sherlock Holmes. The to become friends and decide to investigate the death. It was a fun premise and start of a series. The mystery was great too.
