This was a quick, light and summer-orientated read with a rom-com feel. It took a rich, entitled instagrammer/influencer Jolie, on a journey to Costa Rica and eventually humanised her into a more grounded person. She was a bit vapid but still entertaining.
Then came an accidental kidnapping (yes, I did say that) which was rather funny and Kai found himself landed with Jolie running through the jungle to escape some drug dealers. These two had fun chemistry and the story was engaging.

I loved Exit Through the Jungle by Alicia Crofton. Set in beautiful Costa Rica, it’s one part adventure, one part love story with a dash of finding yourself that makes the perfect beach read. This book was fast paced and an easy read. Jolie is stubborn, creative and intensely likable, she makes a deal with her father that she can make her business work or she’ll return home to work an office job for him. Kia is worried, kind and carries all his family's burdens on his toned biceps. He’s trying t

ARC review: Although this book has already been published, I have originally received this as an ARC. I usually am reading dark/thriller books so this cute romance book was a nice change.
Jodie, the protagonist, has a relatable job in this current world as an influencer/blogger. However, a lot of the things that happened in the book was too unreal/cheesy for me. (ex: getting lost in the jungle with a hot male with a chiseled body, encountering a jaguar, and overall getting away with lots of thin ...more

This is a short story and it was an easy read. Jolie and Kai relationship kinda flat. I don't feel the romance here or the connection. I don't feel any spark or even excitement reading this book. I just wanted to finish this book and done with it.
I don't like Jolie duh I mean when they get lost in the jungle she was mad when Kai don't want to have sex with her like wtf girl?? Why do you have to act like that? Goshhh

Exit through the Jungle is a fun adventure romance set against the lush jungles and landscapes of Costa Rica.
The thing I enjoy most about Ms. Crofton is her writing style. She does an excellent job of transporting us there with her lush descriptions and making us feel like we’re in the story. I felt like I was there watching Jolie and Kai encounter all their obstacles once they go into the jungle.

This is a really hard book for me to rate, because I thoroughly enjoyed it and the entertainment value is at least four stars.

This book had action, adventure, romance and a whole lot of other great things. But I feel like it was all packed into a book that couldn't handle it properly. Everything happens so fast and by the time you’ve adjusted to one thing, you’re encountering another thing. And while this usually keeps me on my toes, I struggled a little to enjoy the pace of this book.

This was a bizarre one. This would make an excellent romantic comedy, something similar to The Hangover with a lot of unbelievable drama and twists and over the top shenanigans.

I really liked the premise of this book, the forced proximity trope is one I tend to love and the addition of the rainforest setting made this even more appealing. The writing style was also pretty decent and flowed well.
However, I felt like the pacing of this book wasn't quite right. The first 30% was mainly scene setting and getting to know the characters which was fine, however it did take a bit to get into. Then the majority of t ...more

*I received an ARC of this book from the author. I'm not normally a romance reader unless it combines with a mystery of suspense book, but I may change my reading likes after reading this book. Jolie's adventures in Costa Rica really appealed to me and when she meets Kai in a very unusual situation, it was even better. This book touches on kidnapping, drug dealing, animal rescue, and the problems with being a free-spirited person. The themes all blend together to make a very good read. I will de

What a fun read!
This book is not meant to be taken seriously. It's silly and fun, and it reminds me of the action and adventure movies from the 80s and 90s (like Princess Bride or Romancing the Stone).
I love how the main character finds her path toward helping the animals, and the author's tribute to the animal rescue center that inspired her story was such a nice surprise to find in the acknowledgments.

I was interested in this book because the description vaguely reminded me of Romancing the Stone (which I love dearly). Also the adventure-romance genre is not nearly as prolific as I'd like it to be.

As mentioned in other reviews, the premise of this book is excellent however, the key relationship in this story develops in only about a third of the novel. While I did like learning more about each character, I found them to be more on a journey of independent growth rather than a journey together. This is likely due to the characters only interacting with each other for about a third, possibly a bit more, or the story. Sadly ...more

I absolutely adored this book! I requested this book solely because it had a super cute cover, it was my lucky day that I actually loved the book.
