This second volume of Christian Spirituality from the highly acclaimed World Spirituality series takes the reader from the rise of the mendicant orders to the Reformation treating Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant spiritualities alike. Divided into two parts, the first approach is diachronic and the second synchronic. Themes treated in the second part are the humanity and passion of Christ, Marian spirituality, liturgical spirituality (east and west) and sixteenth century Catholic and Protestant spirituality in general. The three volumes in the series which deal with Christian Spirituality are shaping up to be the most informative source and most reliable methodological approach in the study of Christian Spirituality to date.
