Well, this my friends is a two-fer deal with two stories wrapped up in one novel as we approach Renegade Sun and Midnight Sun with vigor.

The first was pretty good, involving a young lady named Danielle, whose convinced her ranch is being taken over and sabotaged by the new guy in town-Chase.
Trust is the name of the game and Dani is in a league all her own after her own troubled past.
Is this guy trying to take over , win her heart, or both?
As for the latter half of the book I just couldn't get i

Distrust is a actually two rereleased short stories by Lisa Jackson. Both stories include mystery, intrigue and romance.
Renegade Son was a cute read with fun characters. There was mystery but nothing thriller type mystery. Hmmmm, more of a suspenseful plot.
Midnight Son was ok. I didn’t like it as much as Renegade Son. It just didn’t keep my interest very well.
All in all, interesting stories.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest op

Fun read. Enough background story to make it better than many romances.

A richly woven story with amazing atmosphere.
This is two story’s and I will speak to each respectively.
The first story was not my favourite, the characters behaviour actually annoyed me throughout. It was not very realistic. But the way the landscape and characters life is brought to life is very well done and worth a read.
The second story was much better and I liked the characters much more. Again a rich landscape which I love. This one followed a more solid storyline and was a nice read albeit

Lisa Jackson's books are either top notch amazing or they're lacking in some of the ways that make her books unputtdownable. Sadly, these two in missed the mark for me. I’m just going to do a quick double type of review. Lisa Jackson’s writing is on par as her usual… it’s descriptive and interesting. The characters and plot were a bit lacking in both of the books. I didn’t feel any great pull to them and they weren’t all that interesting. If I can’t find myself rooting for the characters than I ...more

I really like Lisa Jackson, but I didn't like this book. I read about 20%, to be fair, I didn't finish it. I just couldn't get into the story. I really wanted to like it since I like her books so much. I will continue to read her books, just not this one ...more

As always, an interest-holding introduction of characters and a great read from author Lisa Jackson!

Chase, a down on his luck company owner, closes a deal with shifty Caleb. This, in his last ditch effort to save ownership of his company.

Eventually, while scouting out necessary property that is a MUST buy for the resort project he now is now involved in, Chase meets Dani. She is a staunch landowner who will NOT sell her land to Caleb.. She lets Chase know this with her Winchester!
However, Chase

This book contains two previously released books. In the first story, Renegade Son, single mother Dani is convinced the her wealthy neighbor is trying to sabotage her ranch so she will be forced to sell to him. When Chase comes into her life, Dani isn’t sure she should trust him. He works for the man trying to buy her land. In Midnight Sun, Ashley is trying to run the Timber company her father left her. The two novellas in this book are older books being re-released. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Renegade Son

I liked Chase and Dani. Dani is spunky and Chase is quite alpha. There are a lot of twists and turns in this romantic suspense. There is a dog and an equally spunky kid so I couldn’t help but like the book.

Midnight Sun

This is a second chance romance. Ashley is s

I absolutely loved this book, it’s two complete stories in one. Loved the suspense level of both books. I was emotionally connected from the beginning and couldn’t stop reading. In the first, Danielle (Dani) is a single Mom and loved how we’re not sure who’s sabotaging her land. Loved how quickly Chase and Dani fall for each other, but can she trust him?
In the second story, loved how we’re not sure what went wrong with Ashley and Trevor. Who’s family did wrong? Loved how they realize they still

I got this book as a Goodreads and Between the Chapters win. I love Lisa Jacksons books and this one is another great read. It contains 2 books,Renegade son, and Midnight Sun. Renegade Son is the story of single mom, Danielle Summers, who believes her ranch is being sabatoged by the man trying to buy her land. Enter Chase McEnroe, who is there to make the stream better for fishing,by the man who is trying to buy Summer's land. Can she trust Chase or is he working for the man. The ending has surp ...more

3.5 Hearts This is two stories previously released but now released together in this story.

I can not recall ever reading a Lisa Jackson book before. There was a lot of suspense. Here is the thing, these stories are very different. I think readers will find they like one more than the other.

In my case I liked the first story more than the second. The characters in both stories were well written and the suspense was interesting.

Mystery or romance

I am a fan of Lisa Jackson. However, these two stories were not her best. The first one left me with questions about out who did what and the second one was more soft porn than a mystery. Her constant description about the colors of her characters eyes and hair made feel like I was inside a box of crayons. Her hair was black but that was constantly repeated. And th at goes for his hair. It felt she had been challenged to see how times and ways black hair, brown hair, blue eyes

Distrust by Lisa Jackson

Vintage Silhouette novels published in 1985 and 1987 compiled together under compilation copyright by Kensington Publishing Corp.

The two stories have the feel of the past and as I remember the 1980’s well knew they were true to the times and to that writing style. If you are looking for two books in one to read that will take you back to evil doers doing their best to make money without conscience, enjoy a second chance romance, like the thwarting of bad guys, and prefer

I received this in a Giveaway. It had two stories in this book.

Renegade Son was an entertaining and quick read. Danielle Summers was standing up for what she wanted, but believed her ranch was being sabotaged. She is not sure who to trust. There are many things happening with Danielle and you go through the experiences with her.

Midnight Sun was enjoyable, but I preferred the other story. Ashley Stephens ends up home and running into an ex-boyfriend from a feuding family. While this held my atten

These books was pretty good. I didn't read the synopsis carefully so I was happily surprised to get two books in one. I like Jackson's books. I did expect this to be a thriller because that's what I know Lisa Jackson for (again didn't read the synopsis carefully) but these are more like thrilling romances. It didn't bother me though, I enjoy a little romance with my thrills. Definitely worth the read. ...more

DISTRUST by Lisa Jackson
Renegade Sun & Midnight Sun, these are two stories in this new Lisa Jackson book. Both have been released in the past, but it is great to get two in one now. Lisa has a real gift with romantic suspense and thrillers. Distrust is no exception. Renegade is an enemies to lovers romance. Single mother Danielle, is fighting to keep her ranch afloat while feuding with her neighbor Caleb. Chase is a man who has been hired by Caleb to work a project on his ranch. Sparks are flyin

I won a free copy of this book, and I’m sorry to say it is not my style. I hope we have moved past the point as a society where anyone thinks it is ok for a man to pin a woman against the wall and kiss her against her will. That is called sexual assault. Shame on the author for perpetuating this behavior. We can’t all live in Harlequin Wonderland where everything turns out fine because the woman ends up sexually attracted to (“in love with”) the man who assaulted her.

Would you be willing to give love another chance? This book is two novels Renegade Son & Midnight Son. I enjoyed the both as the women are two strong characters that don't back down. But can the men handle not being in charge?
Will they find the happiness that they all deserve?
A good read.
I was lucky enough to receive a copy from Netgalley & the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Two adventures with love stories or two love stories with adventures? Either way the reader wins. The two novels are “Distrust” and “Midnight Sun.” I enjoyed the main characters and the dialogue that kept the stories interesting. Thank you for the copy via Goodreads Giveaways.

Two books in one.

Read both. Preferred the first one. I like strong women, a s I am one. Lady ran her ranch alone, after drunk, cheating husband left . He has the nerve, to show up seven years later. To get to know his son. Not the real reason. Has a happy ending.

The first story I really enjoyed the development of the characters and it was an interesting story.
The second one started out with a good plot but lost me with all the sex... it was a lot of sex! Would have rather dealt more with the plot.

Book is two novels combined. Both are very easy, light reads. I preferred the first novel, Renegade Son, to the 2nd, Midnight Sun. The plot line and characters in Renegade were more interesting. Good writing in both. Great for afternoon-by-the-pool or a beach read.

I was disappointed in this book (which is really 2 books in 1). I found that the first story read more like a bodice ripper romance novel. I hoped for better with the second story, but it was more of the same.

I am a fan of Lisa Jackson. This book had 2 previously released stories. They were interesting, but somewhat dated ( a woman being forced to kiss against her will) but that was a sign of the times when these stories were written. Both stories were fine but not as good as her more recent works
