Alexis Devin was trained in the martial arts by her Japanese stepfather to make her healthy, and it saved her when she became a target. I've always had fond memories of this series, since that first issue was released way back when from Capital Comics. Back when I was riding the high of the independent comic boom - when books like American Flagg, Jon Sable Freelance, Grimjack, Nexus, Twisted Tales, Alien Worlds, Badger, Groo, Dreadstar, Moonshadow, DNAgents, Crossfire and Whisper (to name a few) were on the top of my comics reading pile, even though plenty of great stuff was also being released from Marvel and DC.

As I recall from previous readings, this series kind of has a slow burn. Starts a little rough with the artwork, but by the end of this omnibus you get to see some of the early work of Norm Breyfogle and the storyline I remember is just ramping up.

I held off buying these trade paperbacks in the hopes they would be released in ebook format. My older eyes enjoy the ease of reading on a tablet. But...that doesn't seem to be happening, which is a shame. Prices sure have gone up since the last time I bought a physical graphic novel. I would think $39.99 fair but I see volume 2 is $59.99 cover. That's kinda pricey for the format, but...easier than digging my issues out of storage!

Looking forward to getting to the parts that I recall so fondly. Even though it's gonna cost me a hundred bucks and squinting at tiny print to do it.
