Dreaming of a trip to Europe? I believe rail is the way to go! I appreciated ALL the details, sketched itineraries, mini maps, mini list of festivals (would like more), and country-specific tips. Wish there had been more on prices and how river cruises (for example) could be part of the rail pass. One of my potential go-to places, Luxembourg, wasn't listed in the TOC - found it in the Index! DEFINITELY WOULD CHECK THIS OUT FROM THE LIBRARY - AGAIN!

It's really useful for basic knowledge, but much too much to digest (and very heavy in a backpack). The costs tables (though maybe outdated depending on when it's been reprinted) and the train maps are very useful.
If you need advice just ask me. I know more than I ever thought I would about the Eurail system.

For someone who is planning on doing Europe by train this is an excellent resource. The book is rather large, but I found I could tear out the relevant chapters and cut down on the weight a great deal. I would recommend this for anyone whose primary means of transportation in Europe is by train.
