Everyone knows love is a battlefield. For Lenny Johnstone, it’s more like a challenge.

Actually, everything is kind of a challenge for her. In comparison to her stunning—yet flighty—twin sister, Lenny’s awkwardly tall, painfully shy, and not so good at putting herself out there. Which is why she’s decided it’s high time she faced her demons. Starting with the one thing that

“It’s time to let go of the fear, sweetheart. It’s time to live.”

The Fear of Falling by B. Cranford, is a wonderful, stand alone novella that I enjoyed so much. It’s one of those stories that just makes your heart a little bit lighter.

Looking for a standalone to devour as the kids are occupied and you have blessed moments of peace? Look no further than B. Cranford's latest release.

Sometimes you are looking for a story that just makes you feel good. You love the characters and there is nothing to 'fix'. Well, okay yes. Lenny has some anxieties. And she has a bucket list to help conquer them. What she doesn't imagine is meeting Rowan to help conquer her fears.

The story line flows naturally and you can't help loving the intera

The only thing better than reading B. Cranford's words is listening to them. This novella had everything I love most about her books. A brave heroine, a cocky yet vulnerable hero, and enough humor and heat to suck you all the way in. I loved Lenny and Rowan's story. They had a whirlwind, sexy romance that you never want to end, at least I didn't. I think I need a second epilogue... ...more

I really do put the ‘pro’ in procrastinate! Any other fellow sufferers? *snorts*

It always happens when I love a story and I find myself stumbling over my words *palms face*. Let me tell you, I’ve just had to have a stern word with myself. Don’t laugh! *folds arms* It was much needed talking to.

Right, let’s begin...

Didn't feel a connection between the main characters. The story was ho-hum to the point of boredom. JMHO

ETA: I just can't do the Read Me Romance Podcasts anymore. So many are boring and juvenile.

What a welcome back to the writing of the incredible Ms. Cranford.

I know I have been waiting (sometimes not so patiently) for another gem of a story and she doesn't fail to shine again with this lovely story of Rowan and Lenny.

This story started as an audio story for Read Me Romance and then Ms. Cranford got to add even more awesomeness to this sweet, steamy, insta-love kind of story.

A chance meeting at an amusement park, when Rowan and Lenny meet you can almost hear the "click" of their souls c

The perfect story for this time

B. Cranford does what only great writers can do. She creates relatable stories and characters with an ease that belies just how difficult it is to create the everyday. Her writing has an economy that makes it a pleasure to read while packing a punch per page.

Lenny and Rowan are both people who could be my friends. Neither are over the top, and I bought into their instant camaraderie. As Lenny faces her fears, Row is there to support but not push. He is not only res

Can somebody please explain to me how can such a short (too damn short) book be filled with so much feels?? My God I love Rowan and Lenny. After finishing this story I'm convinced that B.Cranford is a spy because there is a conversation in the book that my now husband said to me on our second date:

***“You’re so tall. I don’t have to bend down to half my height to kiss you. I can lean in and there you are. Do you have any idea how much of a fucking turn-on that is?”

Listened to this on the Read Me Romance podcast and I have to say that this one was better than most. It was well developed for the short story and they didn’t fall into instalove within minutes and get married within a week. I liked the characters and the way their relationship progressed. Not overly sexy but a short and sweet story. 3.75 stars

The Fear of Falling by B. Cranford is a light, sweet, and sexy novella that I really enjoyed! Rowan and Lenny meet by chance at an amusement park, where he sees her sitting on a park bench and is quickly drawn to her. It's an instalove type story, which I always say I'm not a huge fan of, but I think the way the author wrote Lenny and couldn't help but root for this couple. ...more

Lenny needed to get out of her comfort zone and she found someone to support her as she worked through her list of things to conquer. Rowan was the perfect H for Lenny. Insta chemistry and lots of heat in this quick read.

The Fear of Falling by B. Cranford was just the book I needed today.

I love the way Ms. Cranford delivers all the feels and has you completely engaged with her characters in no time.

Lenny is the woman who doesn’t always see the confidence she has buried within herself.

She’s graced huge tragedy and loss, but she’s willing to try to challenge herself.

Rowan is the perfect match for her! I love his laid back confidence and willingness to take each step with Lenny at her own pace.

Facing your fears is probably one of the hardest things in the world to do. I’ve often thought about my fears that don’t make sense to me as well as the ones that do and wonder where they came from. Was it a past life situation, is it something I repressed, is it something so traumatizing that I get sick even thinking about it? Then I wonder if I’m strong enough to face them, tackle some so my life is easier or is it easier to ignore them? Who am I actually doing it for? So many questions.

It you are looking for a beautifully written love story look no further than The Fear of Falling because this book has all the feels you want in a great read. This author always gives me characters I fall in love with and Lenny and Rowan were no different, I fell hook, line and sinker for this couple.
Lenny is a woman a lot of us can relate to, she doesn’t see the woman Rowan see’s when she looks in the mirror, she doesn’t realise just how confident and beautiful she really is and it’s only when

4.5 but rounding up because it was such a complete package in so little space.

I've been reading a lot of novella's recently and this one is exactly what I needed to renew my faith in story telling. The characters were so well drawn that I managed to learn who the characters are and fall in love with them too. I feel like I know their backgrounds and their families and how they spend their weekends. I even know what motivates them and that they are actually good communicators! This isn't one of

“I think that’s where we are headed. More than that, I want that to be where we’re headed. Because when I say I’m crazed? Rowan, I’m crazed over you.”

This book is more than just the typical romance novella. It’s also about concurring your fears and how difficult it can be! I absolutely love Beth’s writing as she almost always includes a mental health aspect with for me makes her books that much

I'll preface this by saying both novellas and instalove are not what I gravitate towards. Ever. But, being that, it was utterly adorable.

Rowan and Lenny have a fateful meeting and the sparks have flown. So much so, that they must overcome the distance and see each other again. Steps from strangers to lovers are between hesitant and jumping, depending on their ability to overcome fears and just go for it, despite anything holding back. Leaning on one another and being there to learn and grow rea

The Fear of Falling by B. Cranford is a contemporary romance novella told in first person, dual POV.

Lenny Johnstone has lived a cautious life paralyzed by fear. After losing a close friend, she makes a to-do list of things that scare her to challenge herself out of her comfort zone into truly living.

When Rowan Roberts spots a purple-haired beauty sitting on an amusement park bench, he's drawn to her and has to meet her. When he learns the reason she's there, he offers to help with her list, ho

I have been a fan of the author's work from the first book I picked up by her. So when the opportunity to review her latest came, I couldn't pass it up! I will admit that I did not listen to the podcast where this story was featured. For me, Beth's books are best devoured via the printed word and then maybe via auditory goodness.

This story, while a little on the shorter side, did not disappoint! I fell in love with Lenny and Rowan from the moment I started reading. These two characters compleme

What an adorable story. I was not prepared for how sweet and endearing this one was. Definitely a novella and one without the heart ache I have been so enmeshed in lately. Reading the story of Lenny and Rowan reminded me that for those of that can sometimes be afraid of making scary choices after experiencing something tragic, that there can be some real happiness. Lenny is scared of a lot of things after experiencing a tragic accident, but after a close friend of hers passes away from cancer, s ...more

This is a story about overcoming your fears. Whether that be a fear of roller coasters, the fear of driving or the fear of being second best to your twin sister. But Lenny takes her fears to an extreme and that leads her to meeting a stranger on a bench at the amusement park. This chance encounter with Rowan changes everything. But can he help her overcome her fears? Or will he add more fears to her bucket list to cross off? Loved Lenny from the opening pages. This is a good-feel book that will ...more

This was such a beautifully written love story. I fell hard and fast for Lenny and Rowan.
I really enjoy Ms.Cranford’s style of writing, she has a way of developing characters that are so likeable and easy to relate to that you cannot help but become invested in the story that she weaves.

The banter and friendship built between Lenny and Rowan was wonderful. The love and romance between them was wonderful to read as I went on their journey with t

A delightful and endearing novella! I loved the premise of the "bucket-list" and the instant attraction between Lenny and Rowan. Even as short as it was, the story was beautifully written and so heartfelt.

The characters were well developed and I could truly believe her dismay and anxiety. Rowan was the quintessential gentleman, ever present and compassionate. I would almost categorize this as a cozy romance, with lots of sparks, lol. Hopefully this will lead to more books by Ms Cranfo

I smiled through this entire novella

Instalust is a favorite trope of mine! Lenny and Rowan kept me in happy smiles throughout this novella. I won’t lie.... I wish this was a full length book because I really loved these two. Lenny is very anxious but is doing her best to not let her anxieties run her or her life. Rowan doesn’t try to cure Lenny, he just stands in support of her like a good partner would. They have great chemistry and I love their banter. These characters are so real and the stor

A cute fun read. Plot was interesting. The storyline flowed smoothly throughout. I thought the characters were developed and easily relatable. There was one scene that started off great and ended flat and unrealistic in my opinion. That's all I'll say because I don't want to ruin it for those that haven't read it yet.

I voluntarily listened and reviewed this audiobook from Read Me Romance Podcast.
