In the end, Quinn will be called upon to weigh the needs of her city against her own. But first, she will have to tap into a power she does not understand, reunite with some exceptionally Sick acquaintances, start a witch-hunt, and stop a massacre. And all before the next full moon - unless she wants to owe a certain goddess a debt that could take an eternity to repay.
Turns out being immortal isn’t as much fun as Quinn thought it would be. But then, nobody ever said moonlighting as a deity would be easy - though they probably should have mentioned the tremendous sacrifices she’d be asked to make.

Rather than her usual hopping from world to dimension to realm, in this book of Quinn, we're back home in Boston, and to everyone there, Quinn was dead. So she had to first convince everyone she was actually alive before she can accomplish anything she came back to do. From there, it's like old home week.
We see Jimmy, who we haven't seen in a while, and he's been busy forgetting about Quinn, apparently. We have Gretel who is afraid to admit Quinn is alive and at her place of business so Quinn's asked to keep going rather than stick around. There's Hilde, whom she came looking for but who isn't too keen on helping Quinn out, Paul, the bridge troll who of all of them seems to be the most overjoyed to see Quinn alive, Lakota, who is now married to Jimmy (where did that come from???), Robin Redcap, who has been locked up with Hansel the Elder by the new head honcho in town, someone named Catha who is not a nice person, and so many others from Quinn's past.
But while feeling like old home week in whom she sees, it certainly doesn't in how they feel about seeing her. As much as she excited to be back home, is about as much as they weren't all that thrilled to find her alive. This Catha, who took over the town and has everyone terrified of her, has made it so Quinn has to hide out or move on until things can be rectified in her town. Not a pleasant feeling for Quinn, who has been away for 18 months or so and was hoping for a more heartfelt reunion.
So she goes about the business of finding Hilde, trailing after her old nemesis Maria to see if she can lead her to Hilde, only to be caught by...Max! But this isn't the Max she remembers. This Max is missing a good chunk of his memory, which includes his memories of Quinn.
From there things get a little more like their usual Quinn crazy, what with having to help Max restore his memory, hunt down Hilde only to have her give Quinn grief, and smack dab into a mystery that needs solving. And who better to team up with to solve a mystery than Special Agent Leo Jeffries? So many old friends, so many questions left unanswered, so many answers a long time coming...this was one of the more mundane books about Quinn McKenna and, honestly, one of the more confusing, but also one of the least interesting.
This particular edition of the Quinn McKenna story felt more like an interlude, a pause between adventures, than any of her books so far. While it was definitely Quinn, and while I still love reading about Quinn, this one left me a little disappointed because it felt like we have been put on hold until her next adventure can be determined.
I do feel like I still have a million questions that have no answers yet, and like this one may have been a touch unnecessary, but, it was still Quinn, so I'll take it. The ending was the most disappointing part of the whole book, though, as it felt like it fell flat. Definitely not one of Cameron's or Shayne's best, but that's ok. Everyone is allowed a book or two that falls short. I'll just be that much more jacked up waiting for the next one, hoping for answers I didn't get here, and for action that was definitely missing.
If you've come this far in the Quinn McKenna story, then you're definitely a fan, so don't let this one put you off her. We did get a little background that may have been missing from her previous books where she was so busy jumping around from realm to realm that answers weren't as fast coming as the questions were. So in that sense, it was needed. I just know that I'll be waiting, hoping for more traditional Quinn in the next one. I know it will be better than this one because she's bound to end up in some kind of mess or another, Quinn being Quinn, and we'll get to see her at her most adventurous rather than her most tame, as she was here.
I'm still a fan, that is for certain, so regardless of how I may feel about this particular volume, I know there's more to come, and it will be grand because I can't help but feel that next time it won't be as rushed or as lackluster as this one happened to be. After all, Cameron O'Connell has become a part of the Templeverse in a big way and will remain so as long as his wonderful imagination keeps Quinn McKenna around!

If you want a fabulous UF read, this is the author to go to. Quinn is back in Boston after an 18 month trip to Faerie, and all is not well in her old stomping ground. Especially when everyone thinks you're dead, and evil has claimed it. Great mystery!

Quinn returns to her beloved Boston to find that 18 months have passes since she was last seen. Her friends think she is dead, and a mysterious new power rules Boston with a strong fist. As Quinn begins to reconnect with allies, she becomes entwined with the resistance to this new power. All this is put on a back burner however as she travels to Branson Missouri to meet up with her FBI friends, and hopefully settle a debt recently taken up while on her travels. If you are familiar with Cameron's (and Shayne's) work, than this is another story right up your alley. If not, don't start here. This series , and it's related series, depend on you knowing the back story. Do yourself a favor, and start at the begining.

QUINN IS HOTTER THAN HELL AS A FULLY FLEDGED GODDESS!
Not only am I turning those pages just as fast as I can, but with Quinn looking that fine I'd almost turn for her Royal Hotness too!
Watch out Callie Penrose, there's a new Super Sexy Sultry Templeverse Vixen!
Having come late to the Phantom Queen Diaries I've only read Sea Breeze (Book 8), Hurricane (9), Brimstone Kiss(10) & now Moonshine (11) in Quinn's Journey & not fully knowing the characters (herstory / history), their back stories, the places they've been, the things they've done, the battles they've fought both lost & won, or the people they love those they've lost A long the way, one could die quite happily not knowing anymore than this & reading this book Moonshine as a stand alone, that's how brilliant the stories & author's are.
But you'd get so much more starting from book 1 & reading the Templeverse in chronological order from Fairy tale or Obsidian Son in the Nate Temple Series, followed by Callie's Feathers & Fires Series, but if you only want to read Phantom Queen Diaries, the Quinn MacKenna's Series, then please don't be like me & at least start at book 1 Whiskey Ginger.
The Templeverse is a Triplethreat Tripleverse so don't forget to try Nate Temple, Callie Penrose & Quinn MacKenna too.

If your into Infamous Enchantress like Morgan Le Fay, Brujho's, Brujha's, Demagogue (Supernatural Human Lie Detectors), Dorian Gray, Fae Galore, Gancanagha, Pixies, Pookas, Valkyries, Werewolves, Witches, Wizards, Shifter's, Trolls & so many more supernatural's it will blow your lid and this is the story for you. I won't bore you with the synopsis, I'm sure you've heard /or read it all before if your reading this review or others, so I'll just tell you how I feel about it & the author's. seriously they're all you ever want .
How do these two Freaky Author's continually score best seller books with reviews that any other author would die for?
Did they make a deal with a Crossroad's Demon selling their soul's for talent, money, fame, success, fandom & beauty (Ba ha ha ha ha ha)? Or did they take advantage of that man old Crossroad's Demon fooling the poor little thing in riddles & writing he /she thought was in his / her favour?
Knowing these two, they own the Crossroads Demon or are Crossroads Demons.
Many members of the Den of Freaks said Quinn was hard to like at first, personally I don't know about that, (not starting at the start) but I do know they'd be lost without her!
I guess she's one of those characters who starts out not so nice, but grows on you quickly like mould on cheese or bread, but wasn't that the same with Nate Temple? For he too began as a pretty obnoxious Daddy's little rich boy, a playboy who had it all, looks, brains, money & fame, but lacked some social graces & niceties with a bad habit of letting his mouth getbin the way or by trying to do the right thing, but going about it the wrong way! Just look at him now, he's one of the most loved characters of all-time especially by women & yes I'm a feminist. Nate is the type of guy many woman would kill to have as their partner, tge perfect book boyfriend or love interest & anyone would love to call the guy a friend, same goes for Quinn.
I have to say a huge thanks to these two crazy guy's who have some of the biggest & most dedicated friends, fans & extended family in the world. They're not your average run of the mill author's who sit in their writing caves typing away & ingnoring those who made them famous & successful in the first place.
Hell No, not these 2, they're always there for their Freaks (fans) even going so far as spending a week with them them every year at an event called Friendsgiving (which was held virtually last weekend July 24-25th due to Covid-19's interference of 2020).
And it was TO-ETAH-LEE EPIC! Not only do they Meet, Greet & Hang with you, but participate in all events like Nerf Gun Wars, Paint Ball Wars, BBQ, Dinners & Drinks, Q & A's and best of all
A Freak Show Fancy Dress / Performances, Swag Prizes & oh so much more. And every single day, Argento Authors personally answer you in The Den Of Freaks Facebook group regularly! (This blew me away)!
Indy author's truly ROCK & have it 'All Going On' all over their compatriot's with the big publishing house's whose authors seem closeted away behind closed doors of the big bucks of buraucracy or in writing caves too busy to interact.
And are these boys talented or what? Consistent Best Sellers after Best Sellers after Best Sellers, exceptional character's everyone wants to love. First rate villans you can't help but love to hate. Plots & storylines that are totally unexpected & blow the mind and they both bring in notorious & Infamous well known characters from all different Patheons & Fantasy stories like you've never seen them before. Think you know Aphrodite, Apollo, Zeus, Ganesh, Shiva, Artemis, the Pythia, Persephone & Hades, Dr Frankenstein, Jack Frost, Dorian Grey, The Wild Hunt, Summer & Winter Queen's of Fae and the rest? Well I guarantee, not like this you don't. Honestly I've never come across such creative authors who know how to capture your interest & hold it continually for so long with so many novels, its up over 35 now.
The ideas never dry up, always seem fresh, original & unique, never done before or not in this way, and they both know how to keep you entertained & guessing even right up to the last moment. They even drop multiple Easter Eggs in earlier books that come back in later books that'll make your jaw hit the floor!
I can not rave, praise & credit these two highly enough.
They are my go to guy's for Urban Fantasy, The Maestro's with the Mostest, the Clowns of Chaos & Creativity, Masters of Mayhem, Mystery & Madness. Authors of Amazing Action & Artistry, The Dynamic Duo of Drama, Genius' of reworked Gods & Goddesses, the Wordsmith's of World building, The Kings of Krazy, The Larrikins of Laughter, The Terriorist of Tears, Poets of Plots & Our Beloved Fairy GodFather's of Freaky Fantasy.
They'll make you, laugh, cry, love, die, hate & want to commit homicide with some of those endings (bad, bad author monkey's) but, we wouldn't change a thing.
Silvers' and O'Connell's writing styles are as different as day & night complimenting each other well; Just like cheese & crackers, they go together like nuts and bolts. But who's Nuts & who's crackers, I'll let you decide!
Thanks guys for another stupendous read, now get back in your respective caves & type monkey's type.
We need that next Callie, Nate, Quinn, Sorin & the recently promised new series books from you both, now!!! Pretty Please.
Not as much full on action leaving you hanging by your fingernails off the edge of a cliff like the last couple of crazy Quinn books, which were off the scale and out of this world literally, but in saying that this book is absolutely essential & kicked ass too & brings back many characters (who are all new & exciting for me) & a love interest rekindled & renewed.
As much as I enjoyed & loved reading Moonshine, I realised I had to bump up my ratings on Sea Breeze, Hurricane & Brimstone Kiss as I enjoyed them slightly more, but had rated Sea Breeze and Moonshine the same.
I RATE MOONSHINE 4.6⭐ OUT OF 5⭐
Seriously these books are all so damn good, I highly recommend you buy or read them all, you won't regret it.
Get 'em at Amazon, Kindled Unlimited & all good book stores or even your Public Library if you must, but you've got to read them! It's the first time in over a decade I've started buying books & a complete series again. Leave your troubles behind, take a vacation that's out of this world & into the Templeverse today!
And thanks to Shayne, Vain, Lane, Swain, Blain & Den Mom Laurie D, thousands of fans like myself have finally found a home amonst all the other freaks of the Den in this crazy insane world we call the Templeverse!

Not as much full on action leaving you hanging by your fingernails off the edge of a cliff like the last couple of crazy Quinn books, which were off the scale and out of this world literally, but in saying that this book is absolutely essential & kicked ass too & brings back many characters (who are all new & exciting for me) & a love interest rekindled & renewed.
As much as I enjoyed & loved reading Moonshine, I realised I had to bump up my ratings on Sea Breeze, Hurricane & Brimstone Kiss as I enjoyed them slightly more, but had rated Sea Breeze and Moonshine the same.
I RATE MOONSHINE 4.6⭐ OUT OF 5⭐
Seriously these books are all so damn good, I highly recommend you buy or read them all, you won't regret it.
Get 'em at Amazon, Kindled Unlimited & all good book stores or even your Public Library if you must, but you've got to read them! It's the first time in over a decade I've started buying books & a complete series again. Leave your troubles behind, take a vacation that's out of this world & into the Templeverse today!

Hmmm
Out of all the Templeverse characters, Quinn is my favourite. This book though, not so much. The first two thirds of it are really very boring for a Quinn book. I found myself struggling to read it and not wanting to pick it back up each time I put it down. At about 70% of the way through, it was fun again, but it only lasts for a fairly short time. There are so many questions with very few answers, and the constant soul searching Quinn is doing feels like she's just rehashing the same stuff as she has for at least, the last 3 books. I'm hoping this is just a set-up for the next story-arc and not the way the next books will go. We'll have to wait and see.

Good story, but can we move it along?
After 11 books, I would expect Quinn to have developed more on her journey. But here we are, strung along 11 books, and she still asks questions that no one really answers, and a plot that feels a bit more like an meandering D&D quest. When this series started, I couldn't put them down. Now, along with Nate Temple series, I am struggling to care. Its beyond time for Quinn to breakthrough, accomplish her goal, etc, etc.

After the breath-taking journey she's had to endure so far, Quinn has finally made it home but, as always, nothing can be straightforward. Still carrying debts she has to pay, Quinn faces the unexpected and strange(r) in a bigger story she, as yet, still knows very little about.
Quinn has grown so much since we first met her and her story reflects this.
As always, Cameron O'Connell and Shayne Silvers not only deliver the goods but serve them up on a Silver(s) platter. The writing is jaw-droppingly exciting (and, no, I'm not joking) but maintains the strong storyline every great book and reader deserves.
For readers who love a book that grabs them from the start, shakes them up and leaves them wanting a whole lot more these are definitely for you. Moonshine is more than excellent and I can't wait to see what the next delivers.

She is back!!
Wow this character has come so far. When I started the Phantom Queen Diaries, I liked the stories being told, but really, I wasn't in love with Quinn. I can finally see how that was by design. Ive gotten to see how she changes and develops and becomes so much MORE.... and what a journey it's been!. And now Moonshine! Man I loved this book. It flowed so beautifully. The characters were all so beautifully written. I simply adore Max! Mr O'Connell certainly knows how to build a bit of sexy tension! We got to see and visit with some old favourites and he left me wanting more time with the Siccos...I want to know more about each and every one if them. The story really feels like its building towards something epic! Moonshine was a true pleasure to read and I really can't wait to see where Cameron takes us next.

I adore Quinn. She is my favorite character in the Templeverse. And I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was another great Phantom Queen ride. Several questions were answered, several were not, and some new questions were raised. We got to hang out with some old friends in a new location, which was fun as well. But there was something about this book that felt a bit rushed to me. Maybe it was because it didn't end on a cliff-hanger like all the others. Maybe because it didn't really answer any of the BIG questions that were hanging out there, and the new questions it raised were pretty big themselves. Whatever it was, it left me desperately awaiting the next chapter in Quinn's journey (so maybe it did exactly as intended)!

What an engaging, action-packed book! There is never a dull moment in Quinn’s life. She needs to keep a vital promise and her search will be extremely dangerous. She just can’t help herself when her friends are in trouble and she will need to trust in some that she would never have trusted before. One thing I love about Quinn is that even when facing a stronger opponent, and knowing she may die, she will still go to battle to protect others. This book is filled with action, danger, friends, dreams, witches, a murderous god, faelings, the Sickos, werewolves, scarifies, secrets revealed, battles, humor, magic, romance and twists and turns!

It's taken me a while to warm up to Quinn. I think partly because the constant "me" instead of "my" grates on me as it's just not necessary and partly because she just wasn't that likeable. But as her story has progressed she's wormed her way into my affections.
This story was fast paced and thankfully took place in the "real" world, leaving the many Otherworlds behind for a time. The story was exciting and for the most part resolved, but although there wasn't a cliffhanger ending this time, there were still some loose ends left untied.
I like Max and I like Max & Quinn. I feel like a missed a chunk of storyline somewhere though and lost the build up to their romance.
Hopefully, the next book is a bit more character driven and a little less mystery of the week.

A goddess with no powers
I really like the Quinn character but have become frustrated with the outcome of her 18 month trek across every land possible with the outcome being her returning home destitute and with no powers. Really? I’m sure there’s a purpose here but I’m losing interest in the side battles that don’t answer any of the questions left hanging from the previous books. Her ties to the Templeverse appear arbitrary and spotty at best. I keep hoping for more than just astral chats and dreams but with this book going on a completely different tangent I’m unsure if it’s a necessary part of the series. Sigh.

Another great book
Well Quinn Mackenna never disappoints she has travelled too so many different worlds even been to Valhalla and hell she returns to Boston to find it changed the order of things disrupted and a vicious being looking for her. Things are never what they seem and Quinn tracks down some old friends and helps to solve some murders. Will she ever get it together with Max and will she come to terms with her goddess looks like we will have to wait to find out hopefully not to long. So goodbye to Quinn and friends for now and to all the Temple-verse books hope to read you again soon.

I was excited to see Quinn again because she is one of my favorite characters. In this latest, she has been gone for 18 months and her hometown is not the same as it was. Not only that, no one is where they should be, and there’s a new player in town. I loved the trip into the Ozarks and Missouri; Quinn wasn’t in Boston anymore and she could tell. LOL! At this point in the series, I’m not sure what to say. If you haven’t discovered its awesomeness by now, you really need to. This book was a great addition to the series, even though we keep thinking we are going to get closure on one thing, but the authors are sneaky, and answer other questions. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Adventuring has consequences. Questing, even more so. Quinn returns from her quest from the last few books to find that 18 months have passed in the mortal realm, and her life is gone. And the consequences of her absence are far reaching, as some mysterious party has taken over both The Chancery and the supernatural side of Boston itself. Strange reunions abound as Quinn catches up and tries to unravel the conspiracy, taking her from Boston to the Ozarks.

Quinn Mackenna is reunited with many of her old friends and discovers what it is she fears about letting her goddess personality out. A good time is had by all as Quinn, along with Max, Morgan le Fay, and the Sickos, the group of paranormal FBI agents once led by Nate Temple’s friend the werewolf Gunnar which now includes Quinn’s childhood friend Jimmy Collins and the Valkyrie, Hilde, whom Quinn needs to induce to return to Freya in Asgard so that Quinn doesn’t become Freya’s slave forever battle a Gancanagh who has been causing untold trouble among all the Freaks in both Boston and Missouri.

Quinn returns to Boston and realizes since she has been gone for 18 months, most people have considered her dead. Because of sightings of her previous adventures in the underworld, most considered it to be true. What she finds in Boston are huge changes and while trying to deal with that, she has to take a trip to Branson where she finds all sorts of related problems. I had hoped thos book would have answered some previous questions from other books instead if creating new ones. Overall a good read.

Quinn is beginning to stand out as a leader - no longer the salty Irish dealer who prefers to work alone - in this instalment her negotiation is put to the test - amongst old and new flames, friends and family.
There is still so much more to her story and how it entwines with Nate Temple and the White Rose - and all of the pantheons.
This is beautifully written. A whole story within - but also with all the subtle hooks into the bigger picture to keep you wondering.

As usual, Quinn doesn’t think too far ahead. So she shouldn’t be surprised to be broke, and unable to contact the few people she’s on speaking terms with when she finally arrives “home” to a Boston thats changed almost as much as she has. With the new Powers that Be not being on the Quinn fan club, she’ll quickly have to come up with a plan to save herself, and those in the supernatural community, from those who wish to control Boston for their own nefarious purposes.

Just when you think Quinn can't get any better, she does. With each new installment of her story she learns more about herself and some of those rough edges of hers get a little polishing. Just a little. She's still Quinn, but maybe she'll ask you a question or two before she shoots you now. But it's always best to stay on her good side, especially once the sun goes down.

The latest book in the Phantom Queen Diaries was awesome!! It went so fast, I’m afraid if I say anything I’ll give it all away!! Quinn’s got big trouble and a lifetime of debt if she doesn’t fulfill a promise but she soon realizes that’s not all she needs to do! Witches and werewolves and gods and monsters...this one has it all!! Brace yourselves for one fantastic journey with everyones favorite red head!!

Not perfect, but good
This one takes quite a while to get going. It's almost like a biography, at least to me.
I did enjoy it, don't get me wrong, but it's almost like something is missing. Like the spark isn't working as well. It didn't catch fire until the middle of the book and I kept thinking to myself, where is the spark that I'm used to seeing and feeling?
I love this series, I really do. But somehow I just feel that maybe more time would have made for a better book.

I Love Quinn
There was a silent struggle going on with me and these main characters of The Temple Verse as to whom my favorite would ultimately be but Quinn has pulled ahead.She is strong, witty, and has grown to be a well balanced character. I enjoy how little bits of today are thrown into the writing but I am also ready for Quinn to have her forever someone. She definitely deserves it.

"There are good ships and there are wood ships, ships that sail the sea. But the best ships are friendships, may they always be." Quinn disappeared 18 months ago. Back now in Boston, things aren't as they were. Once more Quinn is fighting for more than it seems. But she finally finds home.

Quinn!
I feel bereft. Quinn struggled through this whole book with her goddess half and yet, I am bereft. I feel, as always, that I read to reread the past books (and I will!!) to remember what I missed the 1st time. Quinn's dreams have thrown me off since the beginning. My tip for any new read, focus on any dialog of her dreams. I feel like that is where the real Easter eggs for her lay.

Moonshine is a fantastic addition to the Quinn series! You have all that sassiness that makes Quinn a unforgettable, fun, lovable character! It captures your imagination and it’s like your watching a movie while you read these stories. I loved it! I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc, but I of course loved it so much I purchased my own copy!

Quinn has been away from home a long time. She finally able to come back to Boston to find her city in quite the disarray. She reaches out to friends old and new for help. Quinn's story leads us along with assorted flavors of Freaks to right this new wrong so that she can finally "come home" both to her new home and also to her true self.
