டி ஏ நரசிம்மன் என்கிற காலச்சக்கரம் நரசிம்மா கடந்த முப்பத்தி ஐந்து வருடங்களாக பத்திரிக்கையாளராக திகழ்கிறார். இவர் இந்தியன் எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ஆங்கில நாளிதழில் தனது பணியை துவக்கியவர் தற்போது . தி ஹிந்து ஆங்கில நாளிதழின் நிர்வாக ஆசிரியராக இருக்கிறார். சுமார் 15 நாவல்களை எழுதி இருக்கும் இவரது முதல் நாவல் காலச்சக்கரம், வெளியிடப்பட்டு பரபரப்பாக விற்பனையாக, இவரது பெயர் காலச்சக்கரம் நரசிம்மாவாக மாறியது. இவரது ரங்கராட்டினம் நாவலை படித்த முன்னாள் முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா அவரை அழைத்து பேசி பாராட்டி, திருவரங்கத்தில் போட்டியிட போவதாக அறிவித்தார். சங்கதாரா , பஞ்ச நாராயண கோட்டம், கர்ணபரம்பரை, குபேரவன காவல், அந்தப்புரம் போகாதே அரிஞ்சயா போன்ற இவரது நாவல்கள் இவருக்கு தனி வாசகர் வட்டத்தை ஏற்படுத்தி கொடுத்துள்ளன. தற்போது இவர் எழுதியுள்ள ஐந்து பாகங்களை கொண்ட அத்திமலைத்தேவன் பெரும் பரபரப்புடன் விற்பனையாகி கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

சின்ன திரைகளில் கிருஷ்ணா காட்டேஜ், அபிராமி, அனிதா வனிதா, மாயா போன்ற தொடர்கள் உள்பட பல தொடர்களுக்கு திரைக்கதை வசனம் எழுதி இருக்கிறார். சிங்கப்பூர் தமிழ் முரசுக்கு சிறப்பு அரசியல் விமர்சகராகவும் கட்டுரைகள் எழுதி உள்ளார்.

பிரபல திரைப்பட இயக்குனரும் நகைச்சுவை வசனகர்த்தா சித்ராலயா கோபு, மற்றும் எழுத்தாளர் கமலா சடகோபனின் மகன் ஆவார். இவரது மகன் ஷ்யாம் திருமலை என்னை அறிந்தால், அச்சம் என்பது மடமையடா, என்னை நோக்கி பாயும் தோட்டா ஆகிய படங்களில் துணை மற்றும் இணை இயக்குனராகவும், மகள் ஸ்ரீயந்தா இயக்குனர் ராதாமோகனின் காற்றின் மொழி மற்றும் பொம்மை படங்களில் உதவி இயக்குனராகவும் பணியாற்றி உள்ளனர்.

குமுதத்தில் மூவிடத்து வானரதம் என்கிற சரித்திர தொடர்கதையை எழுதியிருக்கிறார்.

தற்போது கல்கியில் கூடலழகி என்கிற சரிந்திர தொடரை எழுதிவருகிறார்.

It was sad to note that this novel lacks historical citations. Hardly I could read a few pages of first volume. The plot is replete with flaws i.e., inaccuracy in facts, mismatch of timelines of emperors, and their names. I was wondering how the author took the liberty to insist that the sole reason for Chanakya's victory is Udumbara/Athi/Cluster fig's bark.

The characters were portrayed weakly. It was a bluff that Magadha empire would succumb weakly to Chanakya's machinations described (if any) in the novel. He could have had used his imagination to portray the schemes of Chanakya to dethrone the Magadha empire. Rather he chose to thrust the fact time and again on readers that Udumbara/Athi/Cluster fig's bark was a major reason of his victory which baffles us.

I got an impression that I was watching a tamil movie which was replete with cliches. The book is being relegated to the back of my book shelf. If only to hide from myself the reminder that I'm hopelessly unable to prevent the automatic movement of my eyeballs and eyebrows when confronted with.

Not a historically accurate book and author's animosity on other sect of hindus is shown deliberately.
Timepass read nothing to imagine or anything to know other than list of kings and just mere names in historical book is enough for the author to build a story on top of it.
Take a plain cooked rice add spices and get a fried rice same concept, the author was praised because of his commercial success and book sales turn over as the tamil people are in hard need of praising themselfves and author is reaping there innocent(cunningness?).
Pity on the tamils, one end they go to extreme end and end up with kind of crackpots like this author who is a reputed daily reporter and holds a prestigious post there.
On the other end they go to politician who praises there past glory. Tamilians are some of few ethnic language group, who is lossing there present and future in praising/searching for there past glory(?).

காஞ்சியில் கிடைக்கும் அத்தி மர துண்டுகளை வைத்து விஷ்ணுகுப்தன் (எ) சாணக்கியன் எப்படி மௌரிய சாம்ராஜ்யத்தை நிறுவுகிறார் என்பதே புத்தகத்தின் கதைச்சுருக்கம்.

காலச்சக்கரம் நரசிம்மா புத்தகங்கள் என்றாலே பரபரப்புதான். ஒரு ஹரி திரைப்படம் போல் விறுவிறுவென்று ஓடும். ஆனால் படித்து முடித்தபின் யோசித்து பார்த்தால் ஏகப்பட்ட லாஜிக் அத்துமீறல்கள் நினைவில் வந்து போகும். இப்புத்தகத்தில் படிக்கும் போதே லாஜிக் சறுக்கல்கள் எளிதாக தெரிகிறது.

உதாரணமாக சாணக்கியர் அசோகரின் காலத்திற்கு முன்பே மறைந்துவிட்டார். ஆனால் இதில் அசோகரின் இறுதிக்காலம் வரை வாழ்ந்ததாக காட்டப்படுகிறது. இது போல் ஏகப்பட்ட சறுக்கல்கள்.

மற்றொரு சறுக்கல் என்னவென்றால் எதிரிகளிடம் அறிவாளிகளே கிடையாது என்பதை போல் எழுதியிருப்பது. கதையின் சுவாரசியத்தை கூட்டுவதே வலிமையான அறிவான வில்லன்தானே. அது இதில் இல்லை.
