As much as I loved the first part in this series, somehow this part was even better! Where the first was spend in a dark, very dark, perfectly drawn dystopian tone, this one, while still dark, spent most of its time with Tzadkiel and Lourdes alone, on the run. Since they are such beautiful characters it didn't hold the same darkness. Now don't take that wrong, this is still dystopian at its finest and that darkness is always in your reading periphery... then its in your face. Wowza, it is so in

Clandestine is a work of fiction in the fantasy, action and adventure sub-genres, and was penned by author Cynthia A. Morgan. Written for adult audiences due to some instances of explicit language usage, moderate violence, and sexual scenes, this novel forms the second book in the Mercy Series. With scarce resources civilisation has broken down, with a chasm between the few lucky ones and the vast majority who live in poverty and servitude. Humanity has been given a small sliver of hope by Tzadkiel but those in power fear and torture him ...more

Tzadkiel and Lourdes are on the run, and hoping to find a safe place beyond the reach of the Protectorate. Unfortunately, not only are they being hunted, but Death is impatient to begin his ride.
Wow, lots of fascinating characters. Some I loved, Tzadkiel and Lourdes, particularly. Others I despised, I'm sure you can figure out which ones. All of them are well written, and remarkably well written. There are lots of unexpected, and surprising twists that kept me glued to the pages. I think this is ...more

Cynthia Morgan continues to weave a beautiful story in book two of the Mercy Series. As I stated in my review of book one, the author's narrative style is enthralling and almost lyrical as she draws the reader into the plot and characters. While Tzadkiel and Lourdes are pursued and under threat of capture, the bigger story is one of innocence, purity, and discovery. Trust and love are highlighted through a sweet and cautious bonding together of two souls. The Archangel of Mercy struggles with be
