What makes this book unique is Wagenknecht lived through the silent era and offers some very intriguing first person reminisces. Also obvious in this book is the fact that Mary Pickford and Lillian Gish are two of his favorites, plus ample space given to D.W. Griffith. Well written, enjoyable to read.
