A summer bash on the farm kicks off our official year as seniors. It’s my first time hosting a party, and it’s sure to be the talk of the school when we return in the fall. But a brawl is not what I had in mind for people to remember. To make matters worse, senior year erupts with a bang, and I mean literally. Pranks and mayhem break out, and the blame is pinned on me.
None of that matters when my life takes a turn I’m not expecting. Senior year is supposed to be fun and exciting, and mine is anything but, especially when I turn to Maiken for a shoulder to cry on and he’s not there.
I can’t worry about him. I have my own problems, and if I can’t crawl out from under them, I might lose everything important to me.
Maiken
My basketball season was toast last year due to my injury, and I vow to do everything in my power to have the perfect season. I can’t afford to screw up if I want scouts to notice me.
But I also want to let loose and enjoy my senior year. That means hanging with my girl, Quinn, and taking things to the next level in our relationship. Only her idea of having fun doesn’t match mine.
We’re on two different paths, going in opposite directions, especially when I learn that my mom has plans to ship my siblings and me to a private academy.
Now I have a decision to make, and if I make the wrong choice, then I could lose Quinn. Although if I stay, I’m not sure we’ll be dating anymore.
My Heart to Keep is a sweet young adult romance and is the fourth and final book on Maiken and Quinn. Start their story from book one in My Heart to Touch for a better reading experience.
Series Order: 1. My Heart to Touch 2. My Heart to Hold 3. My Heart to Give 4. My Heart to Keep

My the author puts these two through it! Quinn does what every teenager does and indulges a bit too much at a party - she is usually the good girl and it doesn’t go down well. Maiken lives Quinn, disappointed with her but really wants to focus on baseball and what could be a promising future. This couple are separated in this book by it does help them to grow up and the love never dies. We do get a HEA, which if you have read the previous books will know they deserve.
Such a sweet ending to Quinn and Maiken story. These two are growing up and trying to navigate there final year of high school together and trying to come out the other side even stronger. These two are young but so strong and so devoted to each other
What an amazing journey this was! I am fairly new to s b Alexander’s work and I need to read more of her books I just couldn’t get enough of this emotional rollercoaster
Quinn and maiken are seniors in high school! They are young and in love but what happens when you are torn apart from your one true love? Will this couples love be strong enough to make it through their separation?
I throughly enjoyed this book I just couldn’t stop reading it! I had to find out how Quinn and Maikens story ended and I was not disappointed!
I can not recommend this story enough for readers although I do recommend you read the books in order first!
I recieved an arc in exchange for an honest review
Oh my god I loved this book. I didn’t want to see Maiken and Quinn’s story end. I feel in love with these characters. I really hope my kids find a love this strong at a young age!
Maiken and Quinn are finally Seniors! This is what they’ve been planning for. Their last year of high school together before they leave for college. And most likely different schools. But what happens when everything gets turned upside down?
I liked watching Quinn step out of her comfort zone. Though some parts I didn’t like. She’s a smart girl and I wish she wouldn’t have succumbed to her friend, but hey I think we’ve all been there, done that. The only thing we can hope is that they learn their lesson!!
Maiken. Oh my Maiken. I loved him since we first met him. He’s got the world on his shoulders. He’s trying to be the man of the house. I love watching him grow throughout this book. I believe he grew the most and learned to navigate life and choices.
I love this series. I really hope in the siblings books we get to see more of these two. I’m curious about Emma the most right now. I have a feeling Marcus’s book will be hard for me because he’s struggling. I hope Celia and Liam get a book!!!!!!
Another great read, filled with emotions but not too intense. Quinn and Maiken have had quite a journey and this book sees them go through the trials and tribulations of their senior year. From dealing with their growing feelings for each other, distance, family issues and high school dramas to having to make big decisions about their futures after school. It's a busy year and very nicely rounds off the high school years for this young couple.
As a teenager I always liked reading books that I could relate to and that pulled me into their world - this is perfect for that type of escape while being an emotional but easy read for adults.
I've really enjoyed reading this series. It's perfect for teenagers and adults alike. ARC review.
S.B. Alexander I absolutely loved reading the final book on Maiken and Quinn. They are so cute together and in sync with there feelings for each other. I was sorta sad that they had to spend there senior year apart but as I kept reading I think the time apart did wonders for them. They both grew up and each learn different experiences which only made them both stronger. Fantastic job with the book I was so sad it ended!!!! I want more.
My Heart to Keep is another outstandingly written book by S.B. Alexander! It is the fourth and final book about Maiken and Quinn. This book sees them in their final year of high school and leading to adulthood. Decisions to be made, long distance relationships, high school drama, and many “firsts” create a wonderful ending to this epic young romance. Can’t wait to see what’s next in the family saga.
My Heart To Keep by S.B. Alexander is a sweet young adult romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Heather Downey and Parker Douglass. This is the forth and final book in the A Maxwell Family Saga series.
I absolutely love Susan's books! She does an amazing job pulling you into the story. I loved the relationship between Quinn and Maiken. I really enjoyed that we got both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
Heather and Parker did an amazing job on the narration. Their voices were perfect for Quinn and Maiken. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the near future.
I would recommend this series to any one who loves coming of age, young adult, or sweet romances.
Quinn and Maiken are growing up. It’s senior year of high school and the future looks bright. They are maturing through the usual hormonal mess of high school and fighting battles with brains not brawn. Perfect ending to the saga of Maiken and Quinn. Highly recommend reading the previous books. I received an early copy from the author and wrote my review voluntarily.
Senior year of high school should be filled with friendship and looking toward the future. However when Maiken leaves town to attend another high school Quinn is left completing her senior year without her boyfriend. Will the separation cause huge problems for the young couple? Or will the time apart lead to big growth and a stronger connection? I have loved Maiken and Quinn since the first appeared in the series and as they have grown they have only gotten better and better. S.B. Alexander has a way of writing that the reader feels every emotion that the characters feel and they do not seem like characters in a book but actual people that you have invested in. Another fabulous addition to the series. I cannot wait to see which sibling will get to be the center of the next story.
There isn't a book by Susan that I don't like. Her books are amazing and are out of this world. My heart to keep was one emotional roller-coaster ride. Quinn and maiken are back. I'm sad that this the last book maybe we will get to read about them in the future. Quinn and maiken are now in senior year of high school. Quinn is still dealing with the haters one girl specifically. Maiken still plays baseketball There are trials that test their relationship. Which they take their relationship to the next level. Find out how this end then pick up this book. I can't wait to read what Susan writes next.
Bittersweet. I loved all of Maiken and Quinn’s journey, but am sad this was the last book of theirs. So much happened, and once again S.B. Alexander kept my glued to the word on the page. I am not going to give away details, as not to ruin any thing in the story. Even the minor things. Their senior year was full of obstacles and issue they had to over come, but in the end I believe both grow into amazing characters. I can’t wait to see what is in store for the rest of Maiken’s siblings.
Loved the continuation of the characters I've grown to love. They matured a lot and learned a lot throughout this series. Another great story by an author that never lets me down.
Just love all of Susan Alexanders books and I really didn't want this series to end. I fell in love with these characters from the first book and I'm still in love with them in this one too.
Loved this book, not going to give anything away but think it wraps everything up nicely, I have loved the relationship Quinn and Maikeb have had from the beginning and was just drawn into their story. Can’t wait to see if there’s more to come some time in the future.
I loved this story so much I really want more to see how they turn out and their adventures are absolutely wonderful I love Quinn and Maiken and I loved Kade and Lacey please write more about Quinn and Maiken
I love Maiken and Quinn I don't want their story to end, we have seen these to grow together, no matter what they have been through or what life throws at them the come through it together and their love just keeps getting stronger. I love their story the books suck you in so you are immersed in it all, so gripped you don't want to stop reading and you definitely don't want the book to end.
I need more Susan you have done it again Brilliant........ I cannot wait to see what's next 😘😘😘
I have loved following the story of Quinn and Maiken, what a journey they’ve been on through their high school days. All the characters old and new bring this wonderful series to life. Thank you for allowing me to be part of you ARC team.
My Heart to Keep was amazing. Another great book by S.B. Alexander. This is the fourth book in the Maxwell family saga. Quinn and Maiken test their relationship in this one. It is their Senior year of high school. This was filled with teenage drama and fun. This couple is amazing, they have great chemistry, fun and loving. The Thompson family is back with all the lovable animals! I can’t tell you how much I love these books. I loved everything and couldn’t put down! A great series and highly recommend!
Wow what a amazing book this book rounds off the story of Maiken and Quinn as you see them tackle things like their senior year, their first fight, being apart, and taking their relationship to the next level. This was a great book and it was a great way to round out Maiken and Quinn”s story and you got to see them grow as not only a couple but grow as individuals as well. Great ending to a wonderful story and I can’t wait for what’s next.
I have enjoyed all four books in this series, but I must admit that this fourth book was truly my favorite. It starts with a party that escalates into action that never seems to stop until the end of the book. Quinn and Maiken spend their senior year in a way that they did not expect, but it causes them both to grow and deepen their love. New characters are introduced – specifically Noah and Trevor – who add to the drama and become people that we care about and hope to see in future books by Alexander. I can’t believe that this series is over, and I hope that Maiken and Quinn show up in some of the future books featuring other Maxwell siblings. Maybe there could be a future series featuring these characters as they go through their college years. (hint, hint) Although it would be best to read this series in order, you could read My Heart to Keep as a standalone and still enjoy it. My favorite scene? When the pigs come to school…
My Heart to Keep A Maxwell Family Saga, Book 4 By: S.B. Alexander Narrated by: Heather Downey, Parker Douglass
What a wonderful ending to the Maxwell Family Saga. We enter senior summer for Quinn and Maiken with a bang! And from there we have teenage drama, heartache, family crises, and a love that has endured. I have loved getting to know the Maxwell kids, and it brings back so many memories of how high school was. Tough decisions are made, and life will continue for Quinn and Maiken as they enter the next phase of their lives. It was a wild ride and was glad to take it with them.
Heather Downey and Parker Douglass finish out the narration of the series and I have loved their portrayal of the families. Each their own voice, young adult to adult, young teenager to mature new adult, the voices have grown and matured over the series and made it a wonderful listen.
Maiken has the opportunity to spend his senior year at another school which would give him a better opportunity to pursue his basketball dreams however it means that he and Quinn will find themselves in a long distance relationship which is another challenge to overcome.
As Quinn asserts her independence, she makes a few questionable decisions that become a learning experience as she realizes that every action has a consequence especially when there are outside forces who are determined to bring you down rather than lift you up.
The strength of the love that Maiken and Quinn share is evident as with every obstacle they overcome the feelings and support for each over is unwavering. The narrators did a great job at bringing out all the angst and turmoil that teenagers feel as they prepare to move from high school to college.
Quinn was having a end of year party and she hoped that it would be a great experience for everyone. Maiken is going of to basket ball camp for the rest of the summer but he hasn't told Quinn yet. Will everything go according to plan or are there problems on the horizon for Quinn and Maiken. OMG what an amazing book in this series, i cried and laughed and could not turn the page's fast enough to see what would happen next. Susan Alexander is an amazing author and writer and i have read every single one of her book as they are always page turners and so addictive that you can't stop reading them once you start. I definitely recommend that you read this book, series and other books by her and you will definitely will not be disappointed. I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc copy of this book.
I am not usually a big fan of young adult/new adult genre but S. B. Alexander's books are the exception. This book is the continuing story of Quinn and Maiken, high school seniors and girlfriend and boyfriend. There are the usual mean girls and teenage angst but there are also lessons that must be learned regarding choices and consequences. The story is well written and the characters are fully developed. It can also be read as a stand-alone, although the reader would benefit by reading the previous books. My only disappointment is that birth control is addressed; however, safe sex (use of condoms) is not. Outside of that, My Heart to Keep is an entertaining read with a closed door, intimate scene.
