I've been a fan of thrillers ever since watching All the President's Men when I was far too young to understand what was going on. Now every day I get to indulge in my passion for fast-paced stories, characters you really care about, and to bring you behind the scenes of the intelligence agencies and the most secretive parts of the political world (the parts they don't want you to know about).

It's often said that I write cinematically, which isn't a coincidence, as my influences are as much in cinema as literature: Daniel Craig's Bond films, Glengarry Glen Ross, Spartan. TV has also been a major factor in my writing. From the original BBC miniseries State of Play, David Simon's The Wire, and Aaron Sorkin, writer of The West Wing; and the US version of House of Cards.

I have worked in the book industry since I was 21.

When's the next one coming? So many unbelievable scenarios. So many plots and manipulations. You think you know who the good guys are but do you? At times I was wondering why anyone bothers to vote at all 'cause you just don't know what you're going to get - and that is true. I knew this was a 3 book serious but then at the end was delighted to read Novak and Stella are to be back in 2021. I've searched everywhere for a publishing date but can't find. Will be kept in suspense for however much longer.
Did like the Epilogues though tying in all the characters. Now to find Kill Day while I wait.

The third installment in the Novak and Mitchell series promises to be a continuation of its predecessors as the deep-rooted global political web of deception gets dirtier and a new face emerges within the Hilderberg group to lead their nefarious political ambitions. This series has so far been an epic saga of one thrilling sequence to the next with the author’s trademark twists and turns, that have pulled the rugs off my feet at the end of each machination and yelled for one more episode.

The preface of this book starts one year before the main event in book one of this series, with a clandestine meeting of the world’s rich, powerful, and influential people of the Hilderberg group. The meeting culminated with a unanimous agreement to remove the UK Prime Minister and US Secretary of Defense by any means required and replace them with Hilderberg’s choice of candidates, to favor their political agenda.

Present day, UK Prime Minister Angela Curtis is on her way for the weekly audience with the Queen escorted by Special Escorts Group (SEG), when their convoy is attacked on the way with a stern message - To resign or face harsh consequences where three UK Parliamentarians will be assassinated in as many days. The assailants show the UK Prime Minister, a short audio clip, telling her - WE KNOW WHAT YOU DID. She is shocked to see the message and disturbed as well - She has to confront the darkest secrets of her past to save her political career and the lives of the other MPs.

Novak and Mitchell are assigned by their editor-in-chief at the Republic to cover the story and uncover the truth behind these dastardly attacks. As they begin digging deeper into the events in the UK with help from Ghost Division’s director Rebecca Fox, they begin to uncover startling truths connecting the attacks on the UK PM with the deaths of George Abbasi and Abbie Bishop. However, the master executioner at Hilderberg will not retract without a fight or bloodshed. Gasper Nole, a contract killer is paid to kill Novak and Mitchell and retrieve any documents that will expose the truth. But as the clock is ticking and the end of the conspiracy is in sight, Novak, Mitchell, and Rebecca have to connect the dots and lay out the sequence of events that transpired over the last few months before the ruthless assassin gets to them.

The stakes are high and without knowing whom to trust, no one is safe. Walter Sharpe, comes in as a savior to the team, but who else within the government and intelligence circles is on the other side is anyone’s guess. Will Novak and Mitchell uncover the truth and bring down the Hilderberg group and expose all those in the government? What has all this to do with Angela Curtis’s past? To know more, read this immersive plot and get hooked on to a nail-biting finisher with lots of action and subterfuge. Highly recommended series for all thrill lovers. Looking forward to the next installment in the Novak and Mitchell series.

Another page turner by Andrew Raymond, tying up the woven threads of the previous two in the series with the usual unexpected plot twists, and thrills.

Leave your “this can’t happen/ be factual antenna” at the door and this can be a fun action book.

I’ve enjoyed the 3 books in the Mitchell and Novak series. They are page turners although with rather implausible plots - I hope! One thing that annoyed me was the lazy writing style i.e. “got out the car” rather than “got out of the car”. This is a frequent occurrence. Also some spelling is poor e.g. “Carboard” rather than “Cardboard” although that might be the translation to ebook rather than the author’s error.

One thing that amused me was the way you could tell that Andrew lives in Scotland when he writes that on the hottest day of the year the temperature was already 20 degrees at 11 am. On the hottest days of the year down south the temperature is at 20 degrees by 8 am - at 11 it is usually above 30.

Nevertheless I look forward to book 4 in the series.

Gripping from start to finish

It's not often that I can say I was truly gripped by a story from start to finish....But it's the most honest description of all the Novak and Mitchell stories. The pace and the twists and turns of the plot will keep you guessing and the action is believable and authentic. Great reads ,up to date technology and scary reality when it comes to knowing just how much surveillance is possible!!!

Traitor Games (Book 3)

Took a little while to get who was who sorted in my head but once done found the whole series to be exciting and not at all easy to guess the endings of each book. Thoroughly enjoyed them all, so much so that I read them back to back. I look forward to reading other books by Andrew Raymond.

Enjoyable except for one highly irritating thing. I’m surprised that the author, the editor, the publisher and anyone else involved in the publication does not know the difference between defuse, as to a bomb, and diffuse, as to, for example, light through frosted glass.
Diffuse was written three times instead of defuse.
There really is no excuse for this.

Andrew Raymond is brilliant

Novak and Mitchell are the odd couple, but under their journalistic persona, we have the best political thrillers since House of Cards. Loose ends, treacherous leaders, side tales, Bondesque villains, blinkered boffins - is there anything missing?

This is the best of the series so far. Great read.

A great read

The trilogy ends with many a twist and turn. Who is hunting who and do politics, greed and revenge make subtle bedmates. Can Tom and Stella finally end this story? Read on.

The third one in the series didn't fail to carry on the high standard of the previous two. A page turner from start to finish bringing together again characters that are well written and storylines that are exciting and original.

What's next?

A triumphant but poignant end to this trilogy of unearthing truths that powerful people are willing to do anything to keep hidden. Thank goodness for those who want to dig up the dirt no matter what the sacrifice.

Definitely recommend the series

All three books are very strong story arc overall. Some very silly bits in this book and Some part of the story were massively predictable which wasn't part of the style in the 1at book. That being said they are a page turner set that I enjoyed.

Traitor Games -

The third book in the series and in my opinion the best. All three books in the series have been good, but the twist and turns of this one made it my favourite. It’s fast paced and you are trying to work out who is on who’s side. 5 out of 5 from me.

Well not as good as the first book in the series But I ploughed on with it anyway. Its one of those books where the hero is saved from certain death rescued in the nick of time.
But Am started on the next book in the series Then I will make a final judgement

The story continues, the gang is back and at first I thought I would feel a little deja vu with all the conspiracy and might get bored...nope I did not. Traitor Games turned out to be gripping and fun to read.

Another good political / big business / international terrorist / newspaper story. A fast moving page turner but parts of the plots and behaviour of some of the characters are a bit far fetched ,,, but still enjoyable. I’ll give the Novak and Mitchell series a break for now.
