This fake relationship romance has it all! Funny, awkward moments. The “will they or won’t they”? And so much tension and steam it'll make you sweat!

One thousand dollars.

I wasn’t supposed to bid at Westbury’s Bachelor Auction. In fact, I was hosting the event when I decided to lean into the microphone and yell out that ridiculous amount.

I blame Bridezilla's stupid text (oops, I mean my sister). It made me lose my mind. I’m pleading temporary insanity.

Then Griz walked out on stage. He’s one of Westbury’s elite jocks. A hockey boy. A Warrior. He came out looking all tall, dark and smug-exy. With his broad shoulders, towering height and hotter than hell face, he was just too perfect. I could just imagine my sister’s face, her jaw on the floor, seeing him in a suit on my arm.

Whew. Is it hot in here or just me?

Bridezilla assumed I wouldn’t need a plus-one for her wedding. Why? Because I’m the curvy girl. The one who never quite measured up against her blonde perfection. My whole life she's made me feel like a red-headed freaking potato and… I dunno, I lost my senses.

Griz will be the perfect fake boyfriend to take to her wedding. I've just got to keep my real feelings in check. It'll be fine. As long as I don’t fall for his intense eyes, his chiseled muscles or his big teddy-bear smile...

I think I’m in trouble.

Very nice quick read but I wanted it to be more. Compared to the other installments we didn’t really get the same energy as the first two stories. It also felt very rushed everything took place within the span of two weeks which as we know can be very common within the romance world or even sometimes real life but, I just wanted there to be something more that makes this story itself special.. Just knowing the other work you’ve produced I just know I wanted something a little more.So hopefully in the next installment for the blaze novel knowing that he is a troubled character hopefully we get a longer in depth book.

Loved this fake romance by Eddie Cleveland. In the first two books from this series, we got to meet his teammates, Player and Gucci and now it is time for us to get Griz’s story. Loved Griz and Hattie. The banter between them was so much fun to see. I was hooked from page one. Love fake romance tropes. Will they or won’t they turn the relationship to something much more real? Pick up the book and find out, you won’t be disappointed. I know I wasn’t.

Griz is a college hockey player who has experienced success when it comes to hockey but not so much in his personal life. After the way his last relationship ended he is taking a break from dating due to his judgment when it comes to women but first he must get through the fund raiser where he is one of the single men being bidded on.

Hattie has been dreading her sister’s wedding for a while as she knows it will be the perfect opportunity for her family to once again find her lacking. Winning Griz may solve her date dilemma but will that be the beginning of her problems or the end?

I really enjoyed Griz and Hattie together as he showed that she was perfect just the way she is while she showed him that she wanted the man and not the hockey player.

3.5 stars!
This was a quick and fun read. I enjoyed the banter and jokes between Hattie and Griz, it had me cackling. This had the fake dating trope that is always enjoyable.

I adored Hattie so much! I related to her a lot because of her body image issues and how her family fat-shames her--been there and still living that! (I'll pass out the confidence boosting hair clips with you, Hattie!) I liked how her confidence wasn't directly wired to Griz's approval. She already had existing self-love and confidence and knew she was beautiful and a successful badass. I think Griz boosted it to a new level that she needed after letting her bully of a sister push her around. I mean, our walls get dents in them sometimes, right? He was a great support system that was there to back her up.

Hot and romantic

Griz and Hattie's story is unique in how it starts! Their story is full of humor, real life situations that are relatable. The dynamic between them draws you in and is full or underlined sexual tension and raw passion! A great read! You can't help but fall for the character's in this story! Great write Eddie Cleveland!

Sé que m’ha agradat més que l’anterior pel trope però tampoc està molt allà.
També pot ser que li estic demanant massa a llibres bastant curts. Però bueno, o que follen més, o que millore la trama.

Super cute! Fake dating trope is my fave! Paid dating trope is also a fave! The “oh no only one bed we must share” trope is a fave! This had all three and I slurped it up 👅 Griz was a sexy teddy bear and the heroine was cute and relatable with a hint of sarcasm and sass. I L❤️VED IT.

ENTERTAINING FIERY PASSIONATE ROMANCE

“Griz” is a roller coaster of emotions with keen wit banter, lots of drama, incredible character interaction, and toe-curling fiery, passionate romance.  An inspiring page-turner read that left me craving more at the awesome happy forever.

Griz a fit sultry hockey player for the Westbury Warriors has given up the player life because of a pregnancy scare.  His key priority is to sharpen his hockey game. Hattie, a red-headed curvaceous smart beauty wants a date for her obnoxious sister’s wedding. Running the bachelor auction to raise funds for the university paper has her bidding a ton of dollars on bachelor Griz.  Feigning a relationship for the wedding draws them closer together, but they face a few hitches before achieving their happy forever.

Entertaining well-written read with backstories that bring you closer to the characters and fabulous vivid scene descriptions. Griz and Hattie’s chemistry and devotion for each other shine in this story.  The author does a fantastic job weaving reality and fantasy. Loved this story and look forward to the next Warrior’s read.

Great cover...but the story was short on details that would have made me enjoy it more. Understanding things like Hatties job, her passion for it, her personal growth after getting away from her family, etc., would have increased my interest. In my opinion, Griz was formed (character-wise) more fully than Hattie but I’m unclear why he fell in love with her other than thinking Hattie was a nice person and looked good in yoga pants. For these reasons, the book fell flat...so I was sort of relieved by the super-abrupt way it ended. Sigh...

What a great story!
Love Griz and Hattie!
Can we talk about the elevator scene? Oh my goodness! Laughed so hard.
Griz and Hattie are made for each other.
They are very hot together and honest which is nice to see...even if it takes them a minute.
I feel bad for Hattie's brother-in-law, but he knew what he was getting into so...he made his own bed.
I adored how Griz handled Hattie's sister. SO good.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

So-So!

This was just a quick short read for me. It's a classic trope for sure. The sex scenes were pathetic really but then again E is a man so it's obvious why it was over quick!

1.5 ⭐ Dnf at 42% (I'm trying to only rate books that I finish but this one had to have one). The blurb was great however this book was shit. I don't usually say to not read a book because everyone has their tastes however I'm telling you don't read this. (Also I started with the 3 one and only after noticed it was a series.) Mind you I though this was going to be one of the cute plus size books but is just her body shaming herself.

If you still want to read this book just have this in consideration:
- This book is repetitive as fuck
- Her chapters just mention her sister, her sister's wedding and her parents, not one not two but like 5
- Her sister is a bully and the FMC just thinks that her sister 'doesn't know better'
- The FMC is just body shaming herself throughout the parts that I read
- She hates the wedding and all that yet all the first chapters that's all there is, she doesn't mention anything else
- His chapters are just about that he had a scare pregnancy with a puck bunny and was going to be a dad
- The amount of 'bunny' that appears in each chapter is alarming
- This all starts with the auction, personally it's weird that she bid since she was presenting it, and she bids thousand dollars and in the next chapters doesn't know if she has the money for a couch, why would you bid then?
- Why the little display with Blaze at the auction?
- Clementine is already a weird name but Clemmie as a nickname?
- They had to move a sofa and the dialogue was so forcibly sexual just to work out the next scene of the family group chat like ...
- The sister is more than self-centered and the FMC still helps her
- We only learn his name 35% in
- Their flight was canceled and they received a coupon for a restaurant, for a meal? No no, only for an appetizer, oh and it gets better, the fryer was broken so no appetizers for anyone

Actually good things:
- Starts with his chapter which is different and I liked it
- Has 210p so is quick, however with all the problems I couldn't even finish
- The auction was with 'low prices' (bc in college makes sense right)
- His nickname was Griz like a bear and he was the mother hen of his hockey group

Meh things:
- The introduction of the book was basically the blurb !?
- The chapters have names (weird ones) and they all appear in the chapter
- They were trying to open the conversation of sex and her first question was “are you circumcised?”

I love this hockey world that Eddie Cleveland has created. In this installment to the series, after a scary incident with a puck bunny, Griz has rededicated himself to hockey and refuses to let anything or anyone distract him from his goals. That resolution lasts until he has the opportunity to get closer to Hattie - the woman he dreams about.

Hattie is a vibrant, engaging and confident woman - usually. When her sister turns into the ultimate bridezilla, Hattie's confidence starts to falter in the face of veiled criticisms and temper tantrums. Finally having had enough of this poor treatment, Hattie snaps and pretends to have a plus one for the wedding. Weaving a complicated set of lies, Hattie convinces Griz to be her fake boyfriend and buffer at the wedding so she doesn't have to hear the usual running commentary about her size, her single status or her behavior.

When fake feelings become all too real, neither Griz nor Hattie know quite what to do about it.

Griz is a strong man of good character. Hattie brings out his protective side and the way he treats his lady love makes him the best book boyfriend. He is supportive and loving, consistently trying to make Hattie see her positive qualities through his admiring eyes.

Hattie is my hero. Normally exhibiting an extraordinary amount of restraint in the face of her sister's outrageous and hurtful behavior, Hattie finally learns where her limits are and shows both incredible strength and kindness as she sets boundaries and stands up for herself. Such a well-written character!

Five stars for this college hockey romance.

This is an honest, voluntary review of an ARC of the story.

There are big characters, and then some characters that are bigger than life.
Although initially a secondary character in Eddie’s previous books (Player and Gucci), his girlfriend situation and family’s reaction clearly set the stage for him to have a book all of his own. And Griz does not disappoint. Like most people who are in emotional pain, we see Griz on the outside as a big, affable guy, thinking that somehow his size gives him the ability to deal easily with difficult situations. In truth, when his past hook-up played him false with, yes, a false pregnancy, we watched him crumble because in truth he is a REAL guy with a big heart.
Hattie has a little bit of all of us in her. She is a curvy woman with a mean girl skinny sister who belittles her at every turn. Hattie is feisty, honest and in need of kindness. She has a secret crush on Griz that straight out makes her vulnerable and human. And in that vulnerability is the basis of Eddie Cleveland’s best book to date.
If you like a good belly laugh and the story of two people redefining themselves, read Griz. I laughed till I cried. The metaphors kept coming, the “couch condom” is a hoot, and where the author develops and fires them at is a wonder. Eddie Cleveland sees life from both the male and female perspective understanding their weaker and softer sides. His characters are quick to meld into the storyline, as the reader falls into their lives, encouraging and rooting for them with every page.
Griz is a keeper, and believe me, I will haunt and stalk Eddie Cleveland’s FB site for his next Westbury Hockey story!

This review is just going to be a schmorgisborg of my opinions on the book, so buckle up.

****WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD***

I read this book in thre span of 24 hours, to say it's a quick read would be an understatement. I enjoyed it, I laughed out loud at some points, and even found myself smirking as Hattie and Griz bantered with one another. I found the sex scenes a little 'wanting'. They seemed short, and rather lacking description - but i think that's just a personal preference.

Hattie's sister Clementine reminded me of the older sister from 16 Candles, and it made me a little sad that there was no sort of 'reunion' with the two of them. Her sister for the better part of the book is seen as a bitch, and its never truly clarified if the sisters patch things up. Also, poor Julian.

I did notice a continuity error that sort of tossed me out of it though - at the rehersal dinner it's mentioned that Hattie is wearing a pant suit (and i could have missed this change because i'm dyslexic) but then all of the sudden two pages later she was in a dress.

Overall, it's not a bad read. It's fast, it's cute, and it's the perfect 'beach' or vacay read. I rated it a 4 out of 10 because I felt the story was nice enough, the characters were alright, and I mean the decsription of Griz was absolutely delightful.

I didn't realize this was a part of a series, and I'm unsure if I would read more of the players stories, but I did enjoy this one as a standalone.

Awwwww

I love Griz In the previous books and you just needed to see him flourish after the bombshell of BS he dealt with in Gucci’s book. He is in a funk and is tired of the pity looks and smothering by his family. Harris is kick ass but has a bi**h of a sister who isn’t just in bridezilla mode but permanently like that all the time and thinks the world should just bow down to her. This “fake relationship” helps them both out and it turns into so much more.

Omg the sofa moving scene was friggin hilarious. If anyone was listening to that convo and sounds you would totally be thinking something else was going on. 😂😂. The couch condom! Omfg

On an aside note. I get that blaze is on a semi destructive path but everyone has meltdowns and needs self destruct modes. Most have them after break ups but I feel like player overly targets and lays the disappointment on thick. And it’s just not cool. I don’t know why I feel so bad for blaze and want to defend him but it’s not like others haven’t done what he has it just got blown out of proportion and seems to all be coming down on him at the same time. People smoke pot not the end of the world. People have sex in college. And let’s be real they do it all over the campus. But player is just determined to ride him. I don’t know why but I want to defend blaze.

I loved Griz so much!! This is the first book I read in this series and I wasn't lost at all but I am definitely going back and reading Player and Gucci's books. I loved the banter the teammates all had, their connection, and friendship made me feel like part of their group. When we find out what happened to Griz and the upset he seemed to suffer I felt bad for him and this event is what has led him to focus more on his hockey game rather than distractions in the form of women. His attraction to Hattie is very much there and a live so he fights it but out of the blue at a charity auction Hattie is hosting she bids on a date with Griz and wins. How can he fight his attraction when he is forced in close proximity with her? Hattie has a terrible family that belittles her and wants her to change to fit them, one of those things is her weight and her bridezilla sister is driving her crazy. On a whim of trying to to lose her mind on her sister she bids on Griz but she questions why because she doesn't want to seem crazy or desperate even if she thinks he is the hottest thing on the planet. These two have amazing chemistry and try to fight their growing attractions but can they keep it up for long? Will it be something that lasts or will it be a fling if they do? I loved the characters, the brotherhood of the team members, and can't wait to read more.

Grriz and Hattie were meant to be!!!

This is the third story in the series and each one can be read as a standalone . The lead characters are all members of the same hockey team. Eddie Cleveland is one of my favorite authors . He is on my auto buy list so this is a biased review because I am a huge fan and absolutely love his writng. I read everything I can get my hands on. This story is special because it deals with two people who have real life challanges and problems that are relatible. This deals with unwanted pregnancy, body shaming , family issues and disappointment, Bridezilla and a Bachelor Auction to raise funds for the school paper. Weave in a little bit of fulfilling someone's dreams and unexpected true love. Best line of the book, "sexy doesn't come in inches". Just a little sexy heat to keep us naughty girls turning the page. Treat yourself to this one. You'll be laughing and cheering the whole way through. Oh, if you ever need to move a couch, I have just the guy to help. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ONE. SO FAR MY FAVORITE IN THE SERIES BUT THERE IS A FOURTH COMING OUT NEXT MONTH ALREADY ON MY TBR LIST. 5 stars for Griz and another 5 for Hattie! Thanks Eddie, another hattrick in bag.

Griz is being auctioned as a date for a good cause, he never expected the curvy organizer and friend of his to place the highest bet on him in the history of Westbury’s Bachelor Auction. But desperate times call for desperate measures and Hattie is having a desperate time. She is tired of her Bridezilla sister driving her nuts with her wedding planning and asking about her dating life. According to her fabulous blond, slim, tall sister - Hattie will attend the wedding alone because she can’t get a man. Oh boy is she wrong... Not only does Hattie shows up with the hottest, hunkiest, biggest hockey player in town - he is also the sweetest most supportive guy she has ever met. They are two peas in a pond and made for each other. I loved that the only “drama” was the bridezilla and that Griz and Hattie only had to deal with her and her antics - it was a “laugh-out-loud” type of book and made me happy to read it. Griz is tired of the nightlife and endless hook-ups, he is ready for the real thing - and every time he sees Hattie, she is it for him. Hattie is the same, she is tired of all the social perceptions about her person and her body - she wants Griz and she will have him.

BTW - I think this is the first romance I read written by a male author. Good job Mr. Cleveland!

The Westbury Warriors are my new favorite Hockey Team! Today was Griz and Hattie's turn! This book is the 3rd in series and it just keeps getting better! I must confess to having a crush on Griz since Players book, but in his own story, damn the man just gets better! He is charming and so damn sweet to Hattie, who "won" a date with him at an auction for the Westbury campus paper. Now she has to figure out what to do with him. How about helping her move a couch? Seriously, the elevator scene had me laughing so hard i was crying! Griz and Hattie are brilliant together and their banter and chemistry is off the charts! Hattie has been dealing with her bridezilla sister, who uses her own insecurities to constantly criticize Hattie about her weight. The last straw, when her sister says "I assume you won't have a +1 for the wedding". Hattie is frustrated and says she will be bring her boyfriend Griz. Well Damn, now what?? After a meltdown in her living room, Griz offers to attend the wedding as her "fake boyfriend". I am absolutely in love with this book, so much so that i have already read it again! check out this book and series today. Now if only Eddie would hurry up and write Blaze' book!!

I loved this story of Hattie and Griz. Eddie Cleveland did a phenomenal job tell this tale. Griz is a big Adonis of a guy. Hattie is school editor with gumption, a fiery spirit, sassy and curves in all the right places and on occasions has awkward moments. Their relationship starts off at the Bachelor’s Charity Auction when Hattie bids on Griz. Hatties bridezilla of a sister is texting her during the auction that Hattie is the MC. Hatties phone is being blown up by her sister sending texts such as “you’ll need a shawl to wear” and “no plus one for you”.....😲 Out of anger Hattie sent a reply “need a plus one for my boyfriend”. I absolutely loved this story. The storyline was so interesting that it completely captivated me and was so intriguing that I couldn’t stop reading it until I finished with the very last word. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for an amazing book. Grab your copy today to find out more of Griz and Hattie story. What are you waiting for? Get ready and start reading. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and it won’t be my last if I can help it. The characters were not only fun, funny, and interesting they seem to pull you in right away. They are just relatable and true to life.

Hattie had spent most of her life experiencing being invisible to even her own family who are picture perfect according to media standards leaving her feeling odd man out and isolated being a double digit in clothing all her life. It is not only that her sister looks exactly like her parents with blonde hair, thin, and tall yet, she is short with flaming red hair. So, dating is hard because she of the mind now that she is on her own she is not changing for any man. She likes herself.

When she spear heads a charity auction and Etta says they should ask the hockey players she seems surprised because she had never thought of them. Now, Etta has several ins to getting them to say yes. You see her brother Griz for Grizzly Bear because he is so big with a beard and tattoos he can look mean on the ice. She also has her boyfriend Gucci on the team to.

Let’s just say when all the guys get together to hear Hattie out Griz and her eyes meet several times. But, Griz has sworn off woman because he is determined to focus on hockey after a scare during Christmas break. But when Hattie bids for him at the auction at way above the highest bid she is even surprised.

All because her bridezilla of sister texts her during the auction confining she doesn’t have a plus one. That is when the madness begins and this big bomb of her assuming not only hurts but pisses her off. Which now kicks it up a notch. The blending of these two characters and Griz being Hattie’s stars to her moon. For the first time they are most real with each other bringing a whole new level of what real is.

Can’t wait for Blaze’s story that it has not only follow up on Griz and Hattie but the same level of energy and passion this book does. Received during a book giveaway month different authors. Kindle Unlimited.

You know how you start a series and the first book is the best one; the sequels are interesting but don’t quite measure up to the first? That is NOT the case here. I loved Player. I loved Gucci. But Griz knocked it out of the park.

This was a sweet yet pretty realistic romance. I love Hattie. I wish she would say her thoughts out loud but I felt she was authentic. I feel like it captured the inner thoughts very well of a woman that is bigger than society accepts. She was confident but still nervous/self conscious. As a bigger girl myself, I feel a lot of what Hattie feels. I’m amazed that an author - especially a man - could put that into words even though I’m not able to. I also loved Griz and his growth/maturity from Gucci to now.

This was the perfect balance of feelings and laughter. I laughed so much at getting the couch in the elevator and then even harder at the aftermath. It was priceless! My husband actually came to check on me because I was laughing so hard.

I received an ARC for my honest opinion.
