I didn't particularly like the patterns in the book. A lot were made with bulky yarn, which makes a quick knit, but would make me with my body shape look humongous. I like Vogu's more complic ated patterns much better.
I solemnly swear to not look at any more Vogue Knitting Books. I cannot control my laughter when a book published in 2002 has so many horrible 80s styles in it. (and don't use the excuse that they are culled from the magazine, these 80 styles appeared in 1998 in the magazine, or 2000. The ONE from 1986 was not that bad.)
At one point I just turned to my boyfriend and said "I won't even show you the picture, but think about the phrase 'floor length vest' "
I bought this book because I loved some of the patterns. The bobble trimmed shawl (without bobbles), easy capelet, classic shell and twisted rib tank all turned out beautifully.
