He’s a broken man searching through the past for answers.
She’s his childhood best friend he had no idea he was in love with.

Thomas Capshaw never thought he’d put his dreams of being a sketch artist on the back burner and end up working in New York City far from home. The very last thing he expects is the inheritance of his famous grandfather’s beach cottage on the sandy shores of Florida where he spent his childhood summers.

Emeline Fischer is an aspiring artist trying to make ends meet, working an assortment of odd jobs while painting her dreams on canvas in hopes of landing her own gallery show someday. When she is Thomas’s waitress during her shift at the local beach diner, she immediately recognizes her sensitive childhood friend who promised long ago to protect her from her unstable home life when they were teens.

The two friends take a journey into their past through a box of photos left behind at Cap Cottage and rediscover their mutual passion for art - and each other. Thomas doesn’t plan to fall in love with Emmy - but maybe he’s always been in love with her. Can he forgive himself for his past mistakes and start over in the only place that ever felt like home? Or will his guilt and the demands of his cutthroat, big-city career prevent him from following his heart and reuniting with the only woman he ever truly loved?

Run to the Sea by K.G.Fletcher
GENRE: Second Chance Romance
NARRATION: Narrative
BOOK DETAILS: Standalone

MY REVIEW
This is my first K.G. Fletcher book and in saying that it definitely will not be my last. This is a heartwarming and emotional second chance romance story. It follows a chance meeting between two old friends that turns into something so much more.

A well written story with a simply addictive storyline, K.G Fletchers characters are related and lovable, sweet and sexy. I loved this beachside story with Thomas & Emeline and can't wait to read more from this author.

What is more important - wealth and status? Or happiness and love? 💜😬

Emeline Fischer's dream is to be an artist, but she barely survives as it is... To make money, she works in various jobs, while at the same time continuing to paint, hoping that one day her dream of opening a gallery will come true. 🙏
One day, while she waits at the local beach restaurant, she comes across Thomas, a distant childhood friend who once promised to be her protector, when they were teens... 💔

Thomas Capshaw always dreamed of being an artist ... but life led him away from that dream, all the way to New York City. He has everything you can dream of - money, status and a beautiful woman... But a family tragedy makes him think that maybe his life is not as good as he thought. He returns to his hometown after his grandfather's death, to live in a cottage he inherited from him, as a broken man seeking for answers... 💜

And so, a meeting by chance of childhood friends becomes a lot more! 😍
The encounter with Emeline makes Thomas realize that he wants and needs much more than he has, and together, with a box of pictures found in his grandfather's cottage, they embark on a journey into the past and rediscover their shared passion for art - and of course, for each other. 🔥

Thomas and Emeline are two people who have lost their dreams and instead, they are full of guilt and pain. Can they forgive the past and start over? ❤❤❤

It was a sweet second chance romantic story, full of emotion and insight, that proved that sometimes we should give up ego and pride, and just follow our hearts. 💜
I really enjoyed this book even though it was written in third person (which I really dislike! LOL) and I can't wait to read the second book in the series!!! 🎉

Childhood Reunion

4.5 stars - Such a sweet and poignant story. Once childhood best friends, Thomas (Cappy) and Emmaline lost touch when he went off to college. Each had things that arose during their years apart that they had to work past - one trauma, the other regret. My heart broke several times throughout the book before it soared with the steamy union of these fated souls.

This is the first time I've read or listened to a book from KG Fletcher but it won't be the last. The only thing I didn't like was what Fiona got away with but the author did keep her true to character as she was beyond self-centered.

As I've alluded to, I listened to this book. (Thanks Kelly for the free copy!) The narrator is the author. I think she was great as Emmaline and I'll give her props for Fiona, Rusty, and other characters but a male narrator for Thomas would've been preferred. Of course, that's always my preference, especially when there are dual POVs.

Story: 4.5 stars
Narration: 4 stars

Would you give up wealth and status for a second chance at love?

Thomas Capshaw, or Cappy to his closest friends, never imagined life like this. Millions at his fingertips and a wealthy socialite on his arm. But the untimely death of his beloved grandfather suddenly makes him realize he's been living a lie. After returning to his hometown too late for the funeral, he runs into childhood friend Emiline Fischer, or Em, and quickly realizes he wants more than what he has. He wants to reconnect to the places and people who make him feel at home. And, above all else, he wants a second chance at true love. But will a jilted fiancee threaten it all? And after distancing himself from Em for years, can Cappy hope to get close to her again? What better way than to squeeze into her life as she's posing nude for an art class?

This is a definite sweet and seductive romance, where the author is beautifully melodical with her words and descriptions. The hero and heroine are striking in their wholesomeness and care, showcasing both their vulnerabilities and strength. Even after reading the book, the characters were so richly developed they continue to dance through my thoughts, and I love the ripened sweetness of this beautiful story.

This first book in The Reigning Hearts series is emotional, heartfelt and one of discoveries. Run To The Sea is a feeling we have all had at sometime in our life, this story puts words on the page that give insight and voice to those emotions. Thomas and Emeline are two people who have lost sight of their hopes and dreams, drowning in regrets and guilt. A chance meeting between these childhood friends takes them on a trip down memory lane. A beautiful story that will show you that sometimes we need to listen to our hearts, ignore our pride and embrace life. These characters will captivate you, cause you to shed a tear and fill your heart with love, hope and happiness.

I loved this book. It is a second chance romance story that took me on an emotional ride that I didn’t put down until the last page. Thomas and Emeline grew up together and were best friends. Will their relationship grow into something more than friendship? I loved these characters, they are engaging, lovable and made me feel as if I was right there in the story with them. They both need to find something to believe in and fate may just have something in mind. Their story is a must read!

Run To The Sea is the first book in K.G. Fletcher’s Reigning Hearts series. Having discovered K.G. Fletcher last year with the fantastic Southern Promises series, she has rapidly risen up my favourite author’s list so I was so excited that she was releasing a new novel. This book did not disappoint in the slightest. I LOVED it.
Run To The Sea is a beautiful second chance romance that will take you on a roller coaster of emotions. The 2 main characters Emeline (Emmy) and Thomas (Cappy) are wonderful, I totally fell in love with both of them.
Cappy and Emmy were inseparable, best friends growing up, who then lost touch when Cappy moved away for college. The death of his beloved Grandfather has Cappy returning home to sort out his estate. Coming back home and seeing Emmy again makes Cappy evaluate his life and realise how much he hates his job and his life now. He’s so much happier and relaxed now and being with Emmy feels like where he belongs.
Cappy and Emmy’s story is beautiful and full of emotion. It also has a few twists and turns that you just don’t see coming. If 2 people are ever meant to be together then it’s Emmy and Cappy. This is definitely one of those books that I will read again. Well worth it’s 5 star rating!

Reading about Emmaline and Thomas, childhood best friends who cross paths again as adults, is a page-turning, steamy, satisfying ride. Who hasn’t dreamed of spending their summers side by side a super fun best friend, someone who has your back during the low points as well as the highs, on a beach in a sleepy sea-side Florida town? Am I the only one?

Regardless of your fantasies, these two characters will pull you in from the start. They are all grown up now and find they are just as close as ever. I couldn’t wait to discover how they would cross the bridge of time that had separated them. And how they would overcome some interesting hurdles. The crisp, descriptive writing takes you from the Florida town where they spent their summers, to New York City, where Thomas has a life that throws out its own obstacles, and back again.

This reviewer loves romance stories and also gets so embarrassed reading sex scenes that she visibly blushes and is forced to peel off clothes from the heat. I realize I’m a minority on the less as more when it comes to romance opinion. This is why I thoroughly enjoyed the first sex scene, and had to skip over the next ones. I couldn’t take the feeling of embarrassment again.

Still, the story is so good, it’s a temptation to skip pages here and there if you are impatient to get to the next exciting development — of which there are many! There is even a plot twist at the end I didn’t see coming that further impressed me. This author has the whole package: precise word choice, engaging characters, scenes that come alive, and a plot that’s full of action. Even the post-story add-ons are amazing. Seriously, the pleasant surprises keep coming. I can’t recommend this story enough if you love reading romances.

I absolutely loved this story! It was sweet, endearing and down right perfectly written. Emeline and Thomas aka “Cappy” we’re best friends growing up. Thomas goes away for college leaving Emeline behind with out any contact for several years until his grandfather passed away. When he comes back to get closure from the guilt he has for what he had said to his grandfather he finds Emeline still living in their home town. These two find they have feelings for each other and that his grandfather had known all along when they come across a box of pictures they hadn’t even known his grandfather, who was a famous photographer, had taken of them during their childhood and teen years.

Run to the Sea by K.G.Fletcher was one book that I didn't want it to end. This was the first book I read of this author and I am looking forward to reading the series.
This was a beautifully written story about two childhood friends, and keeps you in its grip from the very beginning. Her writing style, likable characters, and dream like small town beach resort setting, heightened the intensity of her storytelling skills.
The characters jumped out to embrace you. Emily Fisher and Thomas Capshaw, Em and Cappy for short, were made for each other, and gave out such good vibes through the pages that I felt they were my friends, and their life was unfolding in front of me.
Thomas is working as an architect for a company in New York but returns to the sandy shores of Florida after seven years when he inherits his grand pops cottage. His grand father was a famous nature photographer and has also left him a photo gallery with all his famous works and expensive equipment. He feels guilty and has remorse for not keeping in touch with his grandfather for the years he was away and held on to a misunderstanding between them.
On his return he meets up his childhood friend Emeline Fisher, Em to him who works in a diner to make ends meet. He finds that she has turned into a gorgeous women. Emily is also a very talented painter and her painting Run to the Sea catches his fancy immediately on seeing it. Now here there is a story behind the painting which uncovers as you read the story.
As the days go by they once again reconnect to what it was before he left for college, refreshing their memories through photographs and long walk on the beach and spending a lot of time in his cottage. Their love for each other grows and turns into a beautiful and enchanting reason for Thomas to stay back permanently in this sleepy beach town and give up his life in New York, to make a life with Emily.
The story was emotional and touched my soul. It held my attention throughout hoping for a happy ending. Best friends since young, became lovers and rightfully so, it had to happen.

Ummm... Nop. Ja.

Buuu, buuuu.

¿Estamos tontas?

I've been a fan of this author ever since I read Love Song and with every new release she out-does herself. And she has done it again.

Run To The Sea is everything you want out of a classic romance. While this a friends to lovers story, it doesn't feel like a trope. There is a genuineness to KG's writing that makes the story feel real, that makes the characters come to life. You can relate to her characters because they don't feel like over the top, larger than life people you'd only meet in fiction. No, her characters feel like people you'd know, people who remind you of yourself and your dreams and wishes.

Cappy is a sensitive artist who draws you in with his emotions and passion. Emmy captivates you with her quirkiness and humor, but also with her vulnerability.

KG transports you to an ocean village where you can hear the waves and smell the salt carried in the breeze. She tells Cappy and Emmy's story through paintings and photographs and it is a magical journey through time.

I loved everything about this book. The romance felt organic, the bedroom scenes had the perfect amount of steam to make you fan yourself, but it was also sweet and not overly descriptive, which is perfect for those readers who might prefer to use their imagination. The setting was dreamy, but I'm biased to ocean getaways lol And for those who love standalones, this one has a perfect HEA.

Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts Book 1)
By: K.G. Fletcher
5 out of 5 stars

The story Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts Book 1) by K.G. Fletcher is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that I absolutely loved reading. It is romantic and had my emotions going up and down. It has a wonderful storyline that pulls you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let go until the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Thomas Capshaw and Emeline Fischer. Thomas is a man that is feeling guilt and remorse. He finds himself back on the sandy shores of Florida where he spent his childhood. While his inheritance has brought him back to town, he finds himself unprepared when he meets Emeline again. Emeline is a woman who is talented, beautiful, and trying to make ends meet. She is surprised when she finds Thomas at the restaurant where she is working. These two were best friends when growing up. These two find themselves looking at their past through a box of photos. What else will they find? What is in store for Emeline and Thomas? Read this book to find out. Emeline and Thomas are characters that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read. You can’t help but hope that they find happiness. This book has heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. This is a beautiful story which touches your heart and soul. I highly recommend reading it.

Emeline and Cappy's story..OH MY!

I fell in love with this author reading her Southern Promises Series, and by the way if you haven't read that then go grab them, they are beyond awesome. I was so excited when I saw she had a new series out and I was not at all disappointed..Not sure if I can put in words what it is about this authors writing that draws me in and doesn't let go literally till the end...I loved these people and the story about their bond as teens and how they came back together as friends dealing with the loss of a character who quickly became one of my favorites in this book. The scene with the box and the missing ring literally took my breath away and that's when Pop completely won my heart.

I love how she transported me right into the story, I could see everything clearly and feel like I was right there in the same room with these people. I'm so excited to get my hands on the rest of this series, I loved Ginger in this story and can't wait for Stars Fall From The Sky and completely curious as to how she is going to handle the Fiona story.

Grab this book, it is amazing and I'm sure you will love following Emeline and Cappy’s story as much as I did.

Awesome!!!

Run to the Sea by K.G. Fletcher was a great 5 star read and the first book in the Reigning Hearts series. This is a great emotional 2nd chance romance.

This is Thomas (Cappy) and Emeline’s (Em) story. These two grew up as best friends until college got in the way and Thomas left, causing them to lose touch. When he returns home after his grandfather's passing he sees Em.

Em is surprised to see Cappy after so many years. Seeing each other has caused some old feelings to rise. Em is now a painter and does some beautiful work. The more time they spending reminiscing the closer they get. Can these two possible reconnect and have something?

I really loved this story, my emotions were all over the place. There are some twists and turns as they go through the memories. Cappy was great, he was super sweet and a very sensitive man, he was feeling guilt for not staying in touch with his grandfather. Em was beautiful and talented. You could feel their connection coming right off the pages. K.G. Fletcher has once again pulled me right in with her writing. I look forward to reading more from this series.

Run to the Sea is my first K.G. Fletcher book, and it tells the heartwarming story of Emeline and Thomas (Emmy and Cappy) and their tale of second chance love that spans their entire lives. They were best friends as children through their teenage years but lost touch when Cappy left to pursue a career in the big city.

When an inheritance from his grandfather brings him back to the small beach town where he spent his childhood summers with Emmy, they instantly begin to rebuild the friendship they thought was lost. This time, though, their relationship develops into much, much more than just friends. Spending so much time reconnecting strengthens the love that neither knew they felt for the other. Will their newfound love survive secrets from both of their pasts?

I tend to enjoy character-driven stories very much, so this one made me very happy. Run to the Sea has just the right amount of sweet and heat to satisfy fans of both types of books. With an emotional love story, well-written supporting characters, and a lovely small-town setting, this book is one of my favorite romances of the year.

Everything a romance should be

Brilliant imagery and heart wrenching feels make Run to the Sea an emotional watercolor of a love story. I instantly felt a connection with the characters Em and Cappy and I was transported with the sights, sounds and even smells of that small Florida beach. Beautifully written, expertly crafted and so, so romantic. Gah! The things Cappy does for Em are off the charts on the book boyfriend scale. Don't we all wish for a sensitive, artistic guy like Cappy?
The back story just gets you in the heart strings: Em and Cappy best friends as teenagers then reconnect as adults and it's oh so beautiful. I especially love the parts where they're either painting or drawing. I just adored it so much. The love scenes are tastefully done and deeply meaningful, moving the narrative along quite nicely. This is one of those special books that will speak to your spirit and live on your heart long after you've read it.

Run to the Sea is the first book in the Reigning Hearts Series by K.G Fletcher. I love Ms. Fletcher’s books, so I was really happy to get my hands on this one.
We meet Thomas and Emeline who were childhood best friends- supporting each other through some difficult moments in their childhood. They talked about the future, sharing their hopes and dreams- but all that gets put aside when Thomas ends up working in New York City. He’s back in town after his grandfather’s death, which has resulted in Thomas inheriting a beach house. He soon runs into Emeline, and their past connection quickly comes bubbling to the surface- like all that time never passed and their bond is still strong. But there are hidden feelings- which takes them on an unexpected path. This is a great friends-to-lovers/second chances story full of rediscovery, choices, listening to your heart, trusting yourself, being true to yourself, and taking a chance.
The story is sweet, romantic, touching, and engaging. As I would expect from Ms. Fletcher, it is really well written, and the characters are quite endearing. I was hooked right from the beginning and read the story in one sitting.
I am looking forward to book #2!

Thank you, Ms. Fletcher!

Author KG Fletcher reaches a new level with her latest release RUN TO THE SEA. Her writing style, characters, and settings, bring heightened intensity to her storytelling. This already gifted writer’s lead characters, Thomas and Emeline, are a new departure for Fletcher in that we get to explore a little bit more of their internal emotional life. Not to worry, their passion is fully fleshed out and on display in this engrossing novel. Fletcher’s ability to capture natural dialogue and familiar characters makes us fall further in love with all of her characters, not just the leads. She also has an uncanny ability to set up her subsequent novels in this new REIGNING HEARTS series. I cannot wait for the next installment to be released. Until then, grab a copy of RUN TO THE SEA and dive in.

Run to the Sea by K.G Fletcher is the first book in the Reigning Hearts series. I have read other books by Ms. Fletcher and enjoyed them all, but this might be my favorite one to date.

Emmeline and Thomas have such a sweet story. They started out as childhood best friends and then Thomas disappeared without a word. They run into one after quite a few years and they are both blind sided by the run in.

Thomas had lost who he was due to being blinded by an ambition to prove himself. This story is so much more than a romance it is also about someone rediscovering who they are and where they really belong with a little help from friends and family.

This is a series I'll be keeping up with so I can make sure I don't miss a single book.

Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts #1)
By K.G. Fletcher
Rated 4 stars

This is a good solid book. I enjoyed Emeline. She seems so carefree. Not like many women in today society. She dances to her own drum beat. When her Best friend shows back up in town she is elated. But he is not the same and now there are many years and secrets between them.

I loved that both of these characters were artists. I am in awe of people that have that type of talent. Drawing or expressing through paint would be awesome. I loved that he drew her through the years. I also loved what his grandfather did.

This isn’t my first book by this author. I like how she portrays her characters. They are very down to earth and relatable. The story moves along at a good clip and is nice and romantic.

Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts Book 1) by KG Fletcher is a contemporary romance featuring childhood friends that have been reacquainted. Years may have passed, but something remains lurking below the surface. The ultimate question is will fate lay their cards is the right order or will they be challenged to bring all the pieces together? Thomas and Emeline both are strong characters individually, but living different paths which become apparent in how they interact and the choices they make. KG Fletcher is an amazing author and always delivers quality storms with amazing characters and intriguing story lines. I look forward to reading the subsequent stories in this series and the antics, events, portrayals that the author will develop - anticipate them to be just as great as this story.

Women can be the definition of the devil. The vindictiveness alone could kill you. Cappy finds his childhood friend and feelings that he thought long forgotten resurface. Em is a busy body. The type of person who has to be involved with everything and help everyone. Their reunion wasn’t all hearts and flowers though. Fiona is a spoiled brat. Her glee over Thomas and Em's pain was too much. I understand a broken heart better than most. What she did was wrong on many levels. The author did really well with this story. I enjoyed learning about Cappy and Em.

This was my first K.G. Fletcher story and overall it was a good storyline. Thomas and Emeline were childhood best friends who got each other through the difficult aspect of their childhood, especially Emeline. When Thomas ends up back in town after his grandfather’s passing and runs into Emeline, it’s like time never passed for the two best friends, except it turns into something more as their hidden feelings come to the surface. When Thomas finds pictures of the two of them as children and they realize how they felt about each other is the same as present time, they take their relationship to the next level and Thomas decides to change his life and get back to where he was happiest and do what made him happy as well. When things get a little rocky due to an ex-girlfriend who won’t let him go, Thomas and Emeline work through it in addition to the aftermath it causes. Overall it was a great read, but no big catalytic moment, which I enjoy.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Run to the Sea by K.G. Fletcher

5-stars

Run to the Sea by K.G. Fletcher is an emotional romance read! This is the first book in the Reigning Hearts series, a series I can’t wait to continue with! Emeline and Thomas’s relationship is full of ups and downs with many unanswered questions that had me sitting on the edge of my seat. All of the detail written had me easily feeling connected with the characters and feeling invested in their relationship and hoping for a happy ending.

K.G. Fletcher never disappoints, and I will always recommend her work to others. I can’t wait to continue this series ASAP.
