Great apocalypse!

Reading a truly great apocalypse is the highlight of my day. Finding one with believable vampires is such good luck. In Famine there are both and they blend into a very realistic future. Now add in a main character, Tom, who has been in a coma for 10 years and has been woken to an unbelievable world and you have magic! I really like his moral fortitude. There are several vampires that tug the heartstrings as well as those who just want to make Tom the next meal. And just wait un

Impressive

Tom is awakened from a 10 year coma to an apocalyptic world destroyed by a fatal virus, Charon. He is saved by Ana who definitely is more than a normal human. The storyline was descriptive and we'll written. The characters came to life and as a reader, I was experiencing Tom's journey and fight to live right by his side. Warring families of vampires driven to possess Tom for the one thing they crave the most, blood. Lady the German Shepard and Tom's protector was a favorite of mine as

Famine by J. R. Andrews is an amazing story that I have read. I loved reading this thriller story very much, it was written by a brand new author for me to read and I can not wait to see what this author will write about next. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy, thrillers and horror.

This is my first time reading this author. He has done a great job with his world building along with writing characters that have some depth to them and are interesting. The plot moves along at a nice fast pace that had me sitting on the edge of my seat at times. A really wonderful read.

T hope for mankind to be an idiot.

It’s a well known truth that mankind is an idiot that never does as he’s told or listens to what anyone says. That’s certainly true of this book though that does not detract from the plot. What does detract from it is this: Where did Tom get a pen from when he was writing notes to Ana? How come there’s still plenty of petrol after ten years and plenty of most everything else as well? Why didn’t she manage to save somebody with at least half a brain? Otherwise th

I didn't get very far into this. It seemed extremely slow to get going, with way too much narrative and declarative dialog for my taste. It may be an excellent book for all I know, but I'll never find out.

You know those books that make you want to get back to reading them as soon as possible? This is one of those books. Fast action and an intriguing plot. And having the action based in Cincinnati just made me so happy. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
