I looove Michael Franti and this is an adorable book based on his amazing song/lyrics "What I Be". something we should all learn as kids - tolerance of other people different from us; how to appreciate life, eachother and the earth; how to have fun and embrace life, and just generally how to be good people! plus it comes with a CD

I enjoyed the artwork in this book, but I believe that children will learn grammar and punctuation from what they read. I would never want my son to try to communicate in the method used in this book! The literary principles are not used to express a method of speech or to commemorate a time period. It is important to teach our children to properly conjugate verbs.

Clementine loves Michael Franti, so this is a no-brainer. It's not my favorite, but C can read it back-to-back for at least an hour. The CD is great, but the inscription is the best: "To Clementine, Be Peace! Love, Michael Franti"

“If I could be the sun, I’d radiate like Africa and smile upon the world like intergalactic love laughter!” I mean…it’s hard to beat prose like this. I may be bias as I love Michael Franti…but this book is precious and uplifting!
