Henry is nervous about his first spelling bee. What if he makes a mistake? He finds a spell to help calm nerves, so he decides to try it. But will this spell be helpful or disastrous?

I liked that the magic this time was all about just calming nerves and not boosting spelling skills at all. Heidi was also a nice sister in this one, and the side effects of the spell were more humorous than anything. A cute little lower grade fantasy adventure that has a lot of fun with all the meanings of spell.

No content issues.

Henry is nervous about the school Spelling Bee and studies hard to do well. He finds a spell that will calm his nerves but will attract bees. The relaxed part is terrific but the bees become a problem. The only way to break the spell is to do an unselfish act. He does and all settles down.
I appreciate the large font for the text for early to mid elementary readers. These are chapter books that read like beginning reader books.

The school's spelling bee is coming up, and Henry doesn't want to be in it at all. It's not the spelling part that makes him nervous, but Henry is terrfied of being on stage. Henry finds a magic spell to calm his nerves, but it has its own side effects. What will happen to Henry and the spelling bee?

He had to do spelling bee test. While slepeing he was dreaming that when he will go on stage a bee will come. Then he thought a giant cat will come and eat him up. When he woke up he realised it was all a dream. And in the real stage he hear "buzz buzz" - and there were many bees.

He spells magic with a K. But another girl spells it right and gets a bee medal.

My daughter, who loves the Heidi Heckelbeck books, loved Henry Spells Trouble. She said she thinks she likes the Henry books more. In this book, Henry is in a spelling bee and uses a little magic himself.

The Henry books are a bit lower reading level than the Heidi books making them good first chapter books for young readers. They will also have the boy-appeal.

This book’s lesson was unselfishness. I love that this series depicts kids as they are, wanting to take short cuts and get ahead without doing hard work, but in the end realizing that isn’t the best way to go about it. That kindness, honesty, etc is what makes you truly successful and happy.

I think the book was a 5 star book because it had the funniest ending.
